I can't actually afford to go to fanfest. But I'd like to suggest that I'd be more likely to try and afford it if there were actually females who attended.
I know it really isn't something anyone can fix, and usually I don't really care, but I feel like to bother going to something like Party at the Top of the World there needs to be at least a FEW women there.... 
I guess it must be fun, but really, the pictures from last year are a little depressing. There don't seem to be ANY women. Its so unbalanced that the fanfest site has a page titled "Girls of EVE".... nearly all of whom are Devs or waitresses/bartenders
I vote for an incentives package to bring women to EVE. Everyone who can provide proof (drivers license or something) that they are female gets:
50% off subscription costs.
Monthly salary from CCP of 100 million ISK (or so)
A free set of top-line implants every six months
Discounted ship insurance
Kill rights on people who pod-kill women never expire and summon a CONCORD piloted
fleet led by a Titan within 10 seconds. And Concord places a 1 Million ISK bounty on you.
Their autopilot will warp them to within 0 meters of a jumpgate automatically.
100% skill training bonus to 10 million SP, a week long queue, and training 2 skills at the same time.
This is kinda in jest, but seriously, I find the player demographics slightly depressing.

Dude, thats compleleley untrue, there were many girls at the last years Fanfest (most dressed like pirates, for some reason) that were neither devs nor barstaff! In fact there is normally a female orintated roundtable for female eve players which is generaly full to the brim, as well as jeep tours and things like that for people that bring girlfriends or female friends along with them.
I also think, that maybe the tone of your posting is why there may not be as many girls at fanfest.  I know it was meant in jest but its one of those things where, as a female player, I'd go to Fanfest to meet like-minded people, and to meet people I play eve with, not to go and get leered at by some guy..
Also, fanfest offers plenty of time to go outside and meet the women of Reykjavik, who are famous worldwide for being the most beautyful creatures on earth.
Don't be glum And to the female players out there, come to Fanfest- as you can see, you will be respected and admired.

It was just that I know the statistics which show EVE players as overwhelmingly male, and all the fanfest pics I saw on the fanfest site showed an overwhelming swarm of other men.
Not exactly the sort of pics that would make me excited for a party at the top of the world.

No, you have to purchase one Fanfest pass with each SOE pass.

Hmmm, I guess this is going to sound wrong, but... where else to post this?
Looking for single female non-smoking danish person to share room with to save on accommodations. Send me an eve-mail if you too wanna go, but hate to pay extra for the room. 7 days preferred.

Personally, as a female PVP player, I find your attitude condescending, patronizing and boring. I can podkill my own targets, thank you very much.

I saw the list of hotels, but I was wondering... anyone who's been there, have any recommendations? As someone who will be hitting the nightlife like it's going out of style, but who is also madly addicted to EVE... would it be best to get a place closer to the FF Venue, or closer to city center? I don't need anything fancy, just a reasonably comfortable bed where I can sleep off a hangover, and a mini-fridge so I can begin drinking my hangover away when I roll out of bed. Is travel between downtown and the venue easy enough? Cabs expensive? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

If you're staying at a hotel in Reykjavik then everything is in walking distance. You can be anywhere in 15-20 or less. The closest hotel to Fanfest is Nordica (I have stayed there twice) which is really popular yet on the expensive side. The Hotel Cabin is a cheap hotel nearby too which has good value from what I've heard.
Cab fares aren't too bad. Be sure to use Skybus to/from airport unless you want to pay at least 100USD each way. ;)
