I was in udder shock when i found i could no longer mine freely in CFS space, there goes them rules about mining, gee. seems king raindrop has secured the region even more.
Asteroid Resource Protection Bill v1
GOAL: This bill has the goal to reduce waste of resources, caused by strip/destructive mining. It is a very strict bill, since the military strength of CFS directly depends on efficient resource harvesting.
STATUS: passed, in effect.
DESCRIPTION: Persons, engaged in asteroid mining activites in the designated CFS regions, Delve, Querious and Period Base, hereafter called "miner(s)", should abide by several laws. Inability to follow these laws, can result in certain consequences.
This bill only applies to high-end asteroids:
Gneiss Dark ochre Spodumain Crokite Bistot Arkanor Mercoxit
In this bill we will refer to the high-end asteroids, as "asteroid(s)"
REGULATIONS All miners have to meet the following regulations: (even in groups)
1A) Frequent usage of a Survey scanner on the asteroid is mandatory. Frequent usage is considered to be around a 4-6 mining cycle interval.
1B) For proper usage of the Survey scanner, mining 5000m of the asteroid is mandatory
2) When the Survey scanner indicates that the asteroid contains around 600 units, discontinue mining on that asteroid
3) When detected popping an asteroid will result in additional penalties
PENALTIES When a miner fails to comply with one of the above regulations, he is in violation of CFS law and should be handled accordingly. These persons are called hereafter a "violator"
When a violator is detected, he and the corp should comply with the following orders:
#1A) Warning - Halt mining operations immediately, until there is full compliance with this bill
#1B) Corp - The CEO of the corp will be informed of the violation
#2A) ROS - Failure to comply with order #1, will result in a ROS order
#2B) Corp - The corp has to pay a fine of 10M to a to-be-appointed-CFS-official
#3A) KOS - Failure to comply with order #2 and still in violation of the bill, will result in KOS
#3B) Corp - The corp has to pay a fine of 25M to a to-be-appointed-CFS-official
NOTE: When in violation of regulation #3, the corp has to pay an additional 25M fine to a to-be-appointed-CFS-official.
#4) When a corporation fails to comply with the above orders, the council will be informed and they will take appropiate action.
ENFORCEMENT This bill will be enforced by the military. The senate advies the military to create a special task force to enforce this bill.
The pilots will use a Passive targetter and Ship scanner. Covert operations are allowed, in order to detect and apprehend a rogue miner.
The pilot in question will take the above penalty steps and inform his CO of the violation. The CO will inform the Divisional general and he will take the corp penalty steps. |

Most alliances already have a code of conduct similar to that in place as it encourages the regrowth of asteroids faster and in the medium term benefits everyone in the region.Whats your complaint exactly that you have to move 5 minutes earlier onto a new roid or what?

I have to fit a scanner, when i might need that slot for something else.
Does this mean FA have to comply to this, I think not, hell cfs cant even claim a station.

Like the above poster said Korbin, most alliances have already stopped stripmining.
That includes Fountain Alliance, I don't see why they would strip mine anywhere near fountain since they want the 'roids to regrow.
I could be wrong, but I am sure that FA enforces their own anti strip mining measures.

Any FA miner that pops roids is given a beating for his pleasure, FA actually declares systems that it thinks have been over-mined off limits for certain periods to allow them to grow back properly.

Rock farming...... what kind of degree does that require?
On topic: You'll just have to pay attention while the mind numbing task is underway. hehe For a wounded man shall say to his assailant "If I live, I will kill you, if I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor. |

Its only smart to fit a scanner, the riods grow back faster, I think if u dont comply, u should be KOS.... Its a rule in the DSMA to use a scanner, and one medium slot should not matter if u have a proper mining op going

lol, typical of how mistaken Raindrop is when he's worrying about the 'roids despite several CA invasion fleets in the area.
As per usual, CFS have been utterly irrelevant in this latest conflict, once again! |

Man, thats harsh.
I have just spent the past few hours messing with loadouts to create the best mining set up possible so I could mine all the Veldspar out of Querious.
But with those scanner restrictions, I think I'll just go rampage through FA space instead

Actually this bill was created (before the CA invasion) and approved by the senate. Raindrop just made it public.
Also what we ask from miners, is not unreasonable. Roid popping is simply not done, no matter where you mine.
