I'd like to thank the original poster (well, at least the man-behind-the-main-of-the-alt poster) for bringing this issue up - it's made me think about EVE and all the little quirks and idiosyncrasies that playing it entails.
Bottom Line: I will not participate.
I've thought about it, and while there are issues that tick me off, the fact of the matter is that I put a lot of time and energy into this game. Why? Because I thoroughly enjoy every minute (even the ones where my ship gets shot out from under me). Sorry, but I'd be a hypocrite if I hopped on the boycott bandwagon. I log on daily, and will probably do so September 1st too.
If ECM is an act of aggression, why am I not on kill mails?

The only thing that I'm faintly annoyed by is how they have nested the "Load New Ammo" menu... wasnt needed at all!
Other than that I'm quite happy with Eve atm. Trying to do a boycott is like trying to pee into the wind... it only gets you peed on instead!

Neminen you'll never get EVE boycotted , too many of us love EVE. I wish The mods would lock this thread. Bad taking EVE should get you banned from the game forever!!!

An interesting thread for a change ( beats the how old are you / where do you come from polls ) Hmm as to whether we as individuals govern the game arguement - the answer is quite simply ... of course we do - CCP in this instance are writing / programming this game to increase thier revenue. ( nothing more - nothing less - its a way for them to make money - and good luck to them)..
If the player base becomes depleted due to a program change that cannot easily be resolved - or its a change that cannot be overcome via a bit of thinking from the players then the sed players will unsubscribe.. leaving ccp with less funds at that point in time ,than they had before.. if the funding situation becomes serious then the game stops- (ie no more EVE)( so the answer is talk with your feet but remember that those who talk in that way will ultimately govern your own style of play - imho)
must admit cant see the point atm ,of a boycott. as the game has been bouncing on rock bottom in new content for a while now and is totally dependant on the shiva patch ( catsor promised the introduction of t2 components and new ships etc etc and how long ago was that.....)
if shiva ends up like the initial castor patch(es) then the game will not change in the slightest.
(please dont demean me with the then leave post as I have already unsubscribed..4 months to go on this account)

wow this is awesome. your boycott is basicly buying a ticket for a bus, and then as a sign of protest taking a walk istead (with the ticket). yeah good job guy, you saved the driver some oxigen.

Also CCP does take into consideration what the players want, mabye you just dont pay attention, hmm lets see petitions, Dont GM's deal with that? That to me seems like they are taking the players into consideration, Right?

You're just flaming for no apparant reason other than the fact that you can, because the majority of posters here so far agree with you to a certain extent, so you most likely won't meet opposition.
I also think that this is a somewhat pointless excersize, but I have empathy for the individual who started it, and I for one am proud to be able to claim that I at least had the dignity to consider his point of view.

The only thing your little idea will do is save CCP a bunch of money on the massive decrease in bandwidth that would result. Yeah, that'll make them change something, lower their costs.

i hate the turret changes.. ruins the game for me.
but i can deal with it.. well, a lot easier then I can deal with a whole 24hrs without eve
