- double-webbed battleships motoring back to the gate like it never happened
- low quality shader makes eve an ugly game for the first time, with the bonus that it runs slower
- new effects double whammy of failing to communicate gameplay as well as the old, along with looking pretty silly in many cases
- Trash It right next to Make Active on ship rt-clk menu
- overview tabs randomly forgetting their loaded setting
- new map spazzing out hovering over a system and seeing adjacent system popup
- new map opens with ultra-zoomed in blank screen, I zoom out and now I'm locked from zooming in reasonably far again
- unused station containers refusing to repackage due to super-annoying "less than three weeks old" audit log nonsense, no matter how long they sit there
- completely ridiculous docking ranges on some stations (still!)
- cloaks becoming standard fit on all ships
- people who sold their character, then go on and on for weeks about how awesome the old character was, while sitting inside their new 2M SP noob |

Just came back to look at this.
Shame that no one from CCP commented as there is some good constructive stuff in here.
Any chance this gets moved to the ideas section?
There are at least half a dozen seemingly simple things here that if implemented would be a real bonus.

...the ENTIRE UI is sloppy. I think alotta people's experience in this game would be greatly enhanced if all other development slowed (which may or may not be realistic) to make priority for a full blown UI overhaul.
NOT as a progressive project, but NOW. This seems to become more daunting of a task as additional features are added to EVE.

- Killboards taking the usefulness out of intelligence gathering, and turning much of EvE pvp into some fantasy sport statistics.
- Keybindings, and the complete lack of them.
- The nebula backgrounds in every system. Just a black starfield would be wonderful. Not all of them have to be pitch black ... just a handful of new ones, maybe.
- Systems being too small, and the only places to get reliable fights being gates, instead of defensible positions and other locations.
- The UI. The overcomplicated menus, drop downs, right clicks, etc.
- Inventory management.
- The Empire's all feel the same, only with a different color background.

I'd like to actually make systems larger. Not so much that they take more time to warp across, but that they have more in them. More planets, more moons, more belts, more exploration sites, more everything.
If it came to a point where systems were so DENSE and busy, that two 100-man corporations could setup on opposite ends of the same system and never have to worry about running into one another? THAT would be a huge step forward into making EvE feel more massive.
Sure, you could cross the map in a few hours, but there's no way you could find every location in every system along that way, not even in a month of scanning/exploring.

Edited by: Akullkajaj on 11/04/2009 22:43:13 1) The dumbing down of the Char Gen system -- no choice at all for the skills now, it's all homogenous crap. CCP should have at least created an option in Char Gen for experienced players to choose at least SOME skills up to the limit of 50K sp.
2) The frequent lack of what I call relevant loot in wrecks. For example, I'm getting BS class loot in BC wrecks, such as Juggernaut Torps, and Rocket Launchers in the same BC wrecks. Okay, sure, it could be 'cargo', but I see no reason why whatever "random loot generator" can't be a tad more logical in it's yield of loot.
If it's going to be odd or "out of place" types of loot, then put it on the rat haulers -- you know, the ships where one might reasonably expect to find such cargo.
3) 25% Base Refining rates on NPC stations. I mean, why even bother? One might expect to find that meagre level of refining capacity on an Outpost in 0.0 or a npc station in Low Sec -- but on NPC stations in the "heart" of High Sec?
Sure, I know that not all npc corporations are created equally -- but FFS, in a densely populated area why would any NPC corp station have such pathetic station services?
These things and more..... /rant.

I guess mine is pretty minor. The damage bars on drones do not correctly maintain state. I could be flying around with one fleet of drones for awhile, and when I let them loose they still show damage to shields. I'm not sure if the drones don't have the correct shield value or if the bar itself hasn't been repainted. I suspect the latter since this was a problem with whole ships a while back and it would be easy to overlook the same problem in drones.
Replicate: log off with drones showing damage (when in drone hanger), log back on, sit for awhile (long enough to where the drone shield damage should have been repaired), undock drones. The damaged ones will still show the damage back from when you logged off. As I said I'm not sure if this is a bug in the shield value itself or in the bar that displays it (a test would be if the display corrects as soon as the value changes..ie you could take one hit of damage and the value display would increase).

This! I wouldn't mind paying for the service.
Also, the mail client. Is that ever going to be revised to the level of, say, Microsoft Outlook? Here's what I'd like:
1: The ability to view the titles of all messages I've recieved from anyone, instead of sorting by sender, and to sort them by name of post, name of sender, date recieved, etc.
2: The ability to add certain tags (say, "Wars", "Operations", "POS", "Sales" etc) would be a huge relief and stop me fishing through dozens of corp or alliance mails to find the thing I'm after.
For a more minor peeve, that clown who keeps selling shuttles in remote lowsec systems for 8.88 million. Not accidentally bought one yet, but I've come close once or twice.

Jumping too close to a dead-space gate so your ship wobbles around like a kajak with caffiene dependencies for a good ten minutes as it desperately tries to warp through several thousand tons of metal.
A warp you can't abort once initiated, incidentially. |

Space needs to actually feel different and important instead of "This one is high sec, this one is low-sec, this one is 0.0 held by X alliance" (While I admit sovereignty is a cool concept)
Warping to different places, especially when undocking and trying to get to your instant undock before you get scrammed, when the game won't change your mouse icon between the station and in-space cursor and keeps you from being able to write click and warping to your safe spot.
Having the right click to warp to your safe spots.
Not being able to see your bookmarked safespots on your screen (Both overview and in space) ___________________________________ "There must be some way out of here..." |
