Chribba is just another example of CCP in their mass test of individual neurosis.
The guys hated by a lot of players, simply because he has something that they can never have. Or because he's popular.
This mentality doesn't just apply to video games, obviously. So many people believe that if others have something, then they should to. Or at least, should have the chance to get an identical something.
CCP just continues to reinforce the primary lesson of real life: 'fairness' is a principle created by man that doesn't naturally exist outside of our own heads. Like elves and superheroes.

They moved all the existing capitals, including Chribba's, but rescinded their decision a couple hours later. I'd guess it was part of the complaining rampant on the forums when it happened, not only by Chribba, but his supporters, AND all the other players who had hisec capitals. It's a small fraternity, but they're pretty incessant.

from wiki entry, the veldspar collecting rate is 295,3125m3 per min
it took me a minute before i realized that that's one of them european numbers and really should be 296m3 per min. spent most of that minute going over the ship specs trying to figure out how he gets that sort of mining volume out of t1 harvesters --

The last estimate I heard was less than a dozen dreads and and an indeterminate number of carriers. There's no way of knowing the exact number unless you're CCP, particularly because there's no way to count ships on inactive accounts.

That wiki was pretty funny. Nice to know a singular player owned ship can get it's own wiki.

never wash your eyes again, for the dreadnaught you saw was Chribba, veldspar god.
Because I have not yet seen chribba, I do not believe he is real. Ergo I am atheist.
Besides, if chribba is truely our god, why would he let bad things happen like griefing and PVP happen? How could you worship such a cruel god...
For Chribba does naught participate on us lowly lifes, his task, and solely task is to watch over us, never interfering in our lives, except showing his Veldnaught to us, so that we may bask in his holy miners, and the bounty that is veldspar and it's son, tritanium.
Heathen! The ONE TRUE GOD's sole purpose is watching over the Veldspar. The evil, evil Veldspar. He hath dedicated his holy existence to blotting out this terrible, terrible evil that plagues our mortal realm.
Hallowed is the Chribba.

They would. Except that the estimated force to gank the veldnought needed is around 3000 or so battleships. ------------------------------------- My other alt is a Ferrari |

This has come up from time to time with the general consensus being that factoring in CONCORDs response in 1.0 systems, the Veldnaught EHP, etc it would require thousands of ships and would therefore be both impossible for Chribs not to notice and avoid assuming the node could even cope with the strain (which it wouldn't).
