My current favorite from Coyote Blue by Christopher Moore.
' The monk said, "Does a dog have a Buddha nature?" "Does a fish have a watertight *******?" said Coyote. The monk turned to the trickster and bowed. "You are wise," he said. '

Edited by: Irida Mershkov on 30/04/2009 14:31:28 Anything from a Terry Pratchett novel.
'Ankh-Morpork had dallied with many forms of government and had ended up with that form of democracy known as One Man, One Vote. The Patrician was the Man; he had the Vote.' - 'Albert: 'Never say die, master. That's our motto, eh?' Death: I CAN'T SAY IT'S EVER REALLY BEEN MINE.' - 'If you have to look along the shaft of an arrow from the wrong end, if a man has you at his mercy, then hope like hell that man is an evil man. Because the evil like power, power over people, and they want to see you in fear. They want you to know you are going to die. So they'll talk. They'll gloat. They'll watch you squirm. They'll put off the murder like another man will put off a good cigar. So hope like hell your captor is an evil man. A good man will kill you with hardly a word.' -
A personal fave:
It was a beguiling theory that might have arisen in the minds of Wiglet and Waddy and, yes, even in the not overly exercised mind of Fred Colon, and as far as Vimes could understand it, it went like this: 1. Supposing the area behind the barricades was bigger than the area in front of the barricades, right? 2. Like, sort of, it had more people in it and more of the city, if you follow me. 3. Then, correct me if I'm wrong, sarge, but that'd mean in a manner of speaking we are now in front of the barricades, am I right? 4. Then, as it were, it's not like we're rebellin', is it? 'cos there's more of us, so the majority can't rebel, it stands to reason. 5. So that makes us the good guys. Obviously we've been the good guys all along, but now it'd be kind of official, right? Like, mathematical? 6. So we thought we'd push on to Short Street and then we could nip down into Dimwell and up the other side of the river... 7. Are we going to get into trouble for this, sarge? 8. You're looking at me in a funny way, sarge. 9. Sorry, sarge. -
'Come on, Mr Spangler, you don't want me to get into trouble, do you?' said the hangman, patting him on the shoulder. 'Just a few words and then we can all get on with our lives. Present company excepted, obviously.' - Death: THERE IS NO MORE TIME, EVEN FOR CAKE. FOR YOU, THE CAKE IS OVER, YOU HAVE REACHED THE END OF CAKE.
Edit: One more. "Whole new theories of money were growing here like mushrooms, in the dark and based on bull****."

" There was a man who sat each day looking out through a narrow vertical opening where a single board had been removed from a tall wooden fence. Each day a wild ass of the desert passed outside the fence and across the narrow opening first the nose, then the head, the forelegs, the long brown back, the hindlegs, and lastly the tail. Planescape: Torment
Nordom: Attention, Fall-From-Grace. I wish to address your body. Fall-From-Grace: I beg your pardon? Nordom: Your body. Your form. Your reason for selecting it. Why? Fall-From-Grace: Why..? I suppose I find it comforting. Besides, I rather like the wings. Nordom: It would be more practical for you to assume the form of a modron. It is 13.27% more efficient; give or take +5.2%. Fall-From-Grace: (gently flirting) Why, Nordom... are you trying to court me? Nordom: It was not my intention to initiate legal action against you.
Fall-from-Grace was my second favourite character.
Nad of course, the in-joke of Head Of Vecna.

Because this threads back like the plague, time for some more Pratchett Quotes.
People who are rather more than six feet tall and nearly as broad across the shoulders often have uneventful journeys. People jump out at them from behind rocks then say things like, "Oh. Sorry. I thought you were someone else." - The philosopher Didactylos has summed up an alternative hypothesis as "Things just happen. What the hell." - The Dean: "What is this thing, anyway?" The Senior Wrangler: "It's called a shovel. I've seen the gardeners use them. You stick the sharp end in the ground. Then it gets a bit technical." - Archchancellor Ridcully: "This thing's a kind of big artificial brain, then?" Ponder Stibbons: "You could think of it like that. Of course, Hex doesn't actually think. Not as such. It just appears to be thinking." Archchancellor Ridcully: "Ah. Like the Dean." - Vimes: "Possibly? You turn up when people are possibly going to die?" Death: OH YES. IT'S QUITE THE NEW THING. IT'S BECAUSE OF THE UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE. Vimes: "What's that?" Death: I'M NOT SURE. - Death (When Playing Chess): REMIND ME AGAIN HOW THE LITTLE HORSE-SHAPED ONES MOVE.

Bonnie: Somebody save him, he can't swim! Peter: Oh, he's not even kicking. Kick Joe, kick. Lois: Peter, he's a paraplegic! Peter: That doesn't mean he can't hear. Kick Joe, kick!
Stewie (to one of the prostitutes at Cleveland's house): So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?
Zap Brannigan: Why'd you open your bonghole, you smelly hippie. You'd be willing to sacrifi a hansom lady for a moderately attractive monkey? you must have smoked some bad cranola.
"I'd rather be sorry for the things ive done, than regret the things i never did" - i know i cant be the first one to think so ^^
