Edited by: Angelhunter on 31/08/2004 22:58:28 Seems i lost about 20k optimal range between yesterday and today (patch day) wondering where it went. i have the exact same setup, but all my guns lost around 20k on their optimals (all 425 scouts). Repackaged everything but the ship, and it all stays the same, i read over the patch notes and didn't see anything in there about a range nerf or adjustment to tracking enhancer or tracking computers, anyone else having problems??? --------------- |

Yeah I noticed this too. My 250mm proto gauss guns used to do 42km before, now only 37km, I wonder if it has anything to do with tracking enhancers/computers getting harsher penalties maybe...so that those new support ships have a purpose.

Oh man, if thats the case CCP needs to have their heads examined. Changing long-standing game mechanics to make room for ships which take alot of specialized training is just stupid and rediculous. make the new ships give exponential bonus to current mechanics, not nerf current mechanics so new ones bring them back to what they used to be. --------------- |

Being in a heavy PVP corp, and the types of PVP we do, I can't see ever taking a support cruiser into fleet battles over another battleship. I've stated before that while it's kind of a cool idea. These things are going to be to expensive to be apoc fodder.

These like scorpions will be primary targets in pvp.
the only way i can see them working is to be safespotted, then any injured ships go to them for repairs, then go back to fight.

Why not use an apoc or a gheddon then? Cheaper (with insurance calculated in), less training time and can most likely boost more armor/shields then a support cruiser can. (although at closer ranges but that shouldnt be tomuch of a problem i guess). -------- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs

Funny you mention it.
I'm 99% sure my mega pulses had 70k optimal with radio and 2 track enhancer II's before the patch.
Now the opt is 68km.
Not gonna cry just think it was strange.

I couldn't agree more!!!
Stop the nerfing CCP ...or give us an option to retrain skills affected by recent changes

Edited by: Thomas Covenant on 02/09/2004 06:33:18 Edited by: Thomas Covenant on 02/09/2004 06:32:59 Edited by: Thomas Covenant on 02/09/2004 06:31:40 The issue is with tracking computers and enhancers getting very harsh stacking penalties. After noticing that 20% of my optimal went bye bye, i did some testing. My setup had 3 trcking enhancers 2 and 2 tracking comps 2.
b4 patch 1400 scout with plasma ammo had opti of 72km, no it is a little short of 60km (as was std 1400 b4 patch).
testing indiacted that you get 15% bounus for 1st tracker, 10% ONLY for 2nd, 9 for 3rd, 8 for 4th and 5th it seems. The big decline from 1st to 2nd is what is resposible for out pain atm... TC P.S. screw that CCP, think first don't nerf later. you gonna buy my 1400 scouts for 70 mil each now that you made them useless???
p.s.2 Fire the ugly idiot master of balance, can someone make that into a banner signature?? TC
2004.08.06 09:21:49combatYour 1400mm 'Scout' Artillery I perfectly strikes Guardian Elder, wrecking for 1443.0 damage. |

haha projectiles are now even more useless if this stacking nerf on tracking comps is not a bug.

So once again, can we get an official response on this?? This issue seems to be effecting users of all weaponry, and we would like some answers.
NOWHERE in the patch notes did it say anything about weaponry range changes or changes to tracking modules, stealth nerfs are NOT cool! --------------- |
