Alright I've been having the same Probs as you all have.
I have tryed the Compatability fix, and Un-installed SP2. Still crashed on me! I run them fine as long as both chars are in space or docked and not moving. I am thinking its a graphics card prob as well.
I run
Atholon XP 2800 GeForce FX 5200 1 Gig 2700 ddr Ram SB Audigy
Windows XP Pro now using SP1
I might try a complete re-install over the weekend and not upgrade to sp2 see what that does.

This 2 Eve crash happened to me loads, and I decided not to bother running two eves..
However some other interesting point I would like confirmed by another user...
when using the latest Official drivers for the Audigy 2 ZS from Creative..
If I try to start the game while EAX sound is turned on (I like the acoustic settings for rocking out with :P) I get almost no sounds in EVE...
Also, once I have started EVE and closed it (having had EAX turned off beforehand) the EAX settings are absent... IE I can enable EAX but there are no options available, and attempting to load the Graphic Equalizer prompts the creative helper to inform me that "The creative device this application controls could not be found".... Logging off and on will not solve this and i need to reboot before i can reach the Equalizer or see any EAX options...
To me this indicates that EVE has some specialised method of interacting with a multitude of hardware via some emulation process, and that EVE does not properly restore Creative's control back over the device, and perhaps it indicates that EVE's sound code needs to be redesigned...

Edited by: Slardibardfast on 03/10/2004 18:03:38 I cant believe the number of problems that creative are causing.
Just looking through this thread, all the people that are having problems ALL list creative soundcards in the system specs.
Creative needs a kick up their ****** to write drivers that dont crash and work with more than their P3 Win98 system they test them on. I ditched creative a long time ago because of problems & have never had to go back as there is always a better and more stable alternative on the shelf or web page for me to choose.
I would probably reccomend that if you can remove the creative soundcard & use either an onboard card or another soundcard (not Creative) then do so to test.
Also DEP should not affect Eve in the slightest. I run SP2 with an Athlon 64 process. DEP is set to the highest level (all programs with no exclusions) and I have no problems for hours on end.

Right
I am having no more problems with it crashing all the time now I have been playing solid for 4 hour's a night and at weekend clocking up 9 hours minimal each day with no BSOD appearing. I am going to look at a different sound card soon as the last thing that I tried seems to have fixed the problem and that is turning the hardware acceleration down 1 notch on the soundcard.
As for DEP I will probably tuen that back on and see what happens then. We live for the one we die for the one |

I just baught my second account, and after about 3 days of playing, I got my first one of these bad_pool crashes.
Its strange that these posts stopped in 2004, was a fix found? New drivers? Some new info on this would be nice.

You can't run two accounts with sound on. Crashes the machine or the clients :).
Turn off sound, and it'll probably work fine.

So to play 2 accounts, I'll need either shut off the sound on my main install to play 2 clients off it. Or I'll have to install a second client and set THAT one to sound-off. Those are the only two things that work?

Set both to off apparently, my CEO crashes when he runs both, and I do too.

Edited by: Kansuke on 25/04/2006 08:54:50 Sorry to rake up an old thread, was just searching through google to see if I could find a fix for this issue (only started playing 5 days ago). My system is as follows:
P4 3.2ghz Enermax 550w PSU (Rails Solid) 1gb Corsair 2-2-2-5 3200 mem 250gb SATA Maxtor Diamond9 Asus P4C800-E-Deluxe XFX 7800GS AGP No soundcard - Using USB Medussa 5.1 Headset
I am having the same BSOD issues, getting BAD_POOL BSOD ot the 0xC2 errors and the system reboots. I have ran memory tests all fine, PSU rails are solid, cpu is cool, case temps are fine etc. I have disabled the sound and still getting this issue. I have noticed everyone has the Creative cards but I don't use a creative card.
Has there ever been a fix found for this issue?

Actually, I've been playing since mid-2004 and picked up my second account late in '04 with no problems running them both with sound on. Fast forward... I was gone for 8 months in '06, I come back to the country in November, update all the drivers and such on the same old system I've had (SP2, Audigy 2), and suddenly I can't run two clients with the sound on. I've been getting the same BSOD pointing the finger at the Creative "ha10kx2k.sys" driver that other people have mentioned and found this thread via Google. You're right about running with the sound off on one client, or turning off hardware acceleration seems to allow both clients to run with the sound on (neither being an ideal situation).
I'm wondering why I never saw this before... the old part of this thread died off just before I picked up my second, problem free account in 2004 so it would seem somebody (Creative? CCP?) fixed something around that time. Now they've done gone and broke it again or accidentally rolled back the fix? |

I'm starting to have the same problem now being logged onto the test server and TQ at the same time. It will BSOD docked or not. I haven't tested turning off sounds on both clients but will do so soon.
I've been able to run two characters on TQ just fine for a while - hopefully CCP hasn't goofed something up. I will be submitting a bug report. ----------------------
