the auto patcher DL the new patch but after install my client still says its incompatible protocol. how is this fixable?

I had the same problem. Downloaded auto-patch and then got a message my files were corrupt. I spent the afternoon yesterday downloading the 2.1 GB file over and over again and trying to install it only to get a message that my download was corrupt.
It did manage to install successfully once, but when it tried patching again the files got corrupt.
Is CCP working to fix this or have we been left to fend for ourselves on this one?

I just did a complete Windows reinstall from the disk last night - and tried another download of the client overnight. CRC errors again - though 7-Zip test I ran on the archive file told me that the download itself was corrupt.
Thinking that the issue might be with slower connection speeds. My internet connection is about 1.5mbs, though only 250K or so on download.
Honestly though I'm really not sure - I've run several RAM tests and the checkdisk for bad sectors on the HDD and nothing has shown up. I will probably replace the RAM to get it up to 4gb and see if that makes a difference. If that doesn't work then I'm totally out of ideas - the PC runs every other application I have fine, downloads fine, surfs the internet fine, has more than the mimimum hardware spec to run EVE.
Gonna try another download tonight, then will probably try it on STEAM.
If that doesn't work - then only option is to cancel the account.
CCP have offered no help or comment on this - and from looking at the archive threads - this is a pretty common issue. Might be an idea to start a dedicated thread for CRC validation / checksum errors and see if that gets any hits.

I have 4 gigs of RAM on my system and a quad-core Intel processor, so I doubt RAM is the problem. Although I've read multi-cores possibly being the culprits. I too tried using 7-Zip to extract the file and I also got a message every time stating the one of the files was corrupt/incomplete.
CCP, are you looking into this? It would put me at a little bit of ease to know that you're aware of this problem and that it might be from your end so I don't have to keep trying to fix it from my end. Even if it takes a while, I just would like to know if there's something I'm doing wrong from my end so as to try and correct it.

That's the same thing for me - 7zip says that the download is corrupted.
What's your connection speed? (takes me about 2 1/2 hours to download full client - about 250kb/sec on download).

I have Comcast. And my connection is 1.5Mb. The downloads were around 30-45 minutes every time I re-downloaded. And I did this around 5 times yesterday and to no avail :(.

Exactly the same connection setup I have - though the bandwidth is split with my downstairs neighbours.

Yesterday the download link wasn't up to date (build 86xxx instead of 88517 (88757 was for those who had problem with "black screen")).
I just look the link (after the patch deploy) for full Eve Client installer and I think it's correct.

I just noticed a new build is up, 88974_m.exe. Maybe this one will do the trick. I'm at work right now but when I get home I'll give this one a try.

Yeah I saw that too - I'll give it a go when I get home.
Failing that only other thing I can do is try STEAM in a few days (assuming a more recent client is available on their servers by then).
Oddly enough I started playing the game through STEAM - but had to get the dedicated client from the EVE site because the STEAM version wouldn't update.

That's not due to 1.2.2, 1.2.2 was up and working 'fine' for a couple of hours, then the server just crashed/went-down about 20 minutes ago.

Don't know if any one noticed before but:
- POS Hardeners texture is missing (this is new to 1.2 patch - it worked before patch)
- Equipment Assembly Array model is missing (this was before 1.2 patch)
Tested it on 3 different PC's.

ok i've downloaded and installed a new client for the 8th time in 4 days, each time tidying up the last install mess. all i get is the log-in screen and it says server status unknown. I put in my details anyway and i'm told i have no internet connection, the server is down or the port number is wrong. can we please have some answers CCP or is billing and thread starting the only working departments you have...

Have the Blackscreen issue But when I attempt to patch with the mini one it says I already have the build, yet still get the Blackscreen.
Have downloaded the full client 4 times now, which is a fairly big ask as it is a 2:30hr download for me.
One time I avoided the black screen crash but then had an issue with resoloution size, even though I had it at the level it was suggesting.
Went looking for a non-premium client donwload but couldn't find one, does it exist anymore or have we moved on, Cause I'm worried that my 1GB of RAM may be overwhelmed by new Eve.

Sound effects randomly drop out during battle. This issue manifested itself in the patch before this last one. They seem to come back if you zoom away from your ship and then back in, but then disappear again.

Hey all, my game client wont even open, I get the EVE ONLINE APOCRYPHA mini-screen, then, with the .exe file running, it appears to be tabbed down, and doesn't even load the Login screen. Help? Did the settings change or something? Hopefully it'll be sorted out by tomorrow.

About every second gate jump, game locks up. Others in corp and RL friends who play are experiencing the same thing.

Ditto for me, and I'm hearing some pops occasionally. (Not sure when this started since I normally leave sound off.) It happens on 2 PCs, a Vista 64 desktop and Vista 32 lappy. |
