Hey guys, as I figured before going to bed last night, GD is experiencing a massive massive wave of threads about the MWD/Cloak change. Let it be known that CCP has acknowledged this change to be unintentional, that's right, UNINTENTIONAL.

Hi folks, firstly an apology from all of us for screwing up and letting this slip through the cracks despite many of you trying very hard to indicate the serious gameplay fallout in the threads you linked previously  . This started out life as a minor defect where a code fix was made to stop the ECM jamming continuing to work after you had cloaked.
The intention was for only this to be fixed, however as many of you are now acutely aware, the fallout from that supposedly minor defect fix to a single issue is rather massive and game breaking for many. This was very much not an intended gameplay change from us.
The change that caused this to all happen is being reverted at the earliest possible opportunity with a hotfix (no ETA yet) but we will make this right as soon as possible.

It might take a year or two, but we'll get it in the end. So just hope it wont take too long :) Keep your hopes up :)

i tested how bad it was quickly with an alt. its not as bad as people make it sound. you still drift alot, and if your in a frig or maybe even a fast cruiser, i think you can make it back to gate. not as gamebreaking as they lead you to believe. i think its better to just leave it as it is. while i may end up killed a little more, ill lose out on many more kills than that.

It's NOT unintentional because it's in the patch notes! The other bugs are unintentional but rest assured once the bugs are resolved the MWD/Cloak change will be back. It is after all an exploit!

Bull****. This change has been on SiSi now for over a week with a large threadnaught going in the SiSi Forum. This WAS intentional.

A while back there was a "bug" with a patch, where local was removed/not working. I wonder why was it "fixed"

Ahhhhh, but we haven't even begun a proper threadnaught with custom signatures that say "SAVE THE NANO CLOAKS!". With the 999.99 scam gone too, the quality of whines is going to reach a new low, shame.

They could just change ECM to untarget your current targets, rather than prevent you targetting altogether. No need to break lowsec/nullsec hauling.

Don't hold your breathe. CCP wont announce an ETA which means they aren't planning a revert, something which they've said is easily done in the past. They will attempt to fix the issue and issue a new patch.
This will easily take at least 7 days. I hope I am proven wrong of course.

OP you are clueless, mwd/cloak is intentional cause it is in patch notes, whats not intentional is the fact that when you jump and decloak after the jump you cant cloak with your module immediately and you have to wait first to fully decloak from the jump cloak. That means that every decent ceptor and even cruiser can lock you and prevent you to cloak and warp out.
THAT is not intentional, mwd/cloak will still exist.

This is obviously planned, why else would the mega have a spare high slot if not for a cloak? We are meant to have inst-warping megas running 7x1600mm plates. Anyone who says otherwise is a troll.

I don't see why the **** everyone is saying it was "intentional" because it was in the patch notes. The Dev reply in the OP (if you guys even bother reading posts before you reply to them) is pretty ****ing clear about what happened.
Furthermore, the patch notes never mention MWD, just ECM, which, as the Dev explained, was the reason for the change. Something missed someone and they didn't fix it for MWD, and none of us know why, but everything said so far makes perfect sense.
For those who didn't bother to read the post:
The changes to cloaks were intended to prevent ECM from operating after a cloak was turned on. The MWD problems are a side effect that CCP didn't notice for who gives a **** reason. The change to ECM was intention, and to MWD was not.
This is really easy to understand.

No they didn't intend for the MWD-thing to happen, but they bloody hell knew that they we're putting the "If a ship cloaks, all active modules that modify attributes" part in. They're just, shockingly, unaware what such a change was going to do to their game.

Doesn't surprise me really that they have taken this long.
I got home on Thursday afternoon just before the servers went down for the upgrade...so good to get a whole 15 minutes notice that they'd be down for the rest of the night.
They were quick to spring that on us...yet they never seem to be as quick to roll out the FIXES to their super-short-notice patches.
Perhaps if they didn't rush like a mofo to roll them out, or *gasp* listen to their players that pay good money...they might roll out a patch that they don't need to fix a week later.
