GoonSwarm is an alliance. It is an alliance full of players who all read the SomethingAwful forums. And they pay for that priviledge. Crazy I know but each to their own. Personally I prefer to read these forums for free.

GoonSwarm is an alliance. It is an alliance led by one of the biggest ******s in Eve. This is a man who thinks he is ****** reincarnated. Until he somehow ended up in charge of GoonSwarm he was a failure at eve. You know the type, the ones who can't quit figure out why he keeps dying in low sec but still goes back everyday to get ganked again without looking at local.

This is Remedial.

Somehow, Remedial wound up in charge of this alliance. What this means is that he posts constantly on SomethingAwful attempting to get more people to join and play eve.

"Great, more players!" I hear you call.

Yes, awesome. Until you realise there are now 2000 people led by a ******.

For the first while, everyone thought "awwww, aren't they cute".

Then when they went and kicking seven shades of **** out of D2, everyone thought "rofl, D2 are getting owned by newbs".

Then they took the **** out of one of my ingame friends who unfortunately passed away in a rl accident.

They did kick the guy out who did it.

Meanwhile they laughed about it all on their forums.

Yeah, we now have a ****** for a leader and a bunch of ****** followers.

Thankfully not all of GoonSwarm were ******ed but for every ******ed one there was another one who simply turned the other cheek.

Fine, you can all ****ing die.

Then they started an eve-o flamefest attacking everyone and everything in the game. Leaving all sense and sensibility at the door they went on a rampage.

So did we. But we did it ingame.

It began with us camping S-U, the heart of their alliance. We did this for a month. In that time we owned them completely.

We removed the ingame pos, we removed them from their ingame ships and we removed thier ingame will to play.

They mocked us saying none of it mattered, yet they still continued to get owned.

Their alliance is a joke, there is no leadership, there is no teamwork.

There is nothing but a bunch of idiots playing eve solo while asslicking a ******.

The lucky ones are those who have seen through the facade and have moved onto other corps. They might have a future in eve.

Those who remain will be griefed, harrassed, killed, mocked and abused until the servers go down.

They will never be allowed to build up in any sector of 0.0 space and whose alliance will be slaughtered whenever we feel like it.

Goons in space?

It was meant as a competition with an adequate emotional level to keep the participation high. Mynas, exploits are in the game and both sides used it. But never there was such thing as people spammed local the way goons did. Never tried to openly call out to RUIN the game for others. winning by any means ingame, metagaming (even tho I think it goes too far nowadays) were all a more or less important part. But this, in my eyes, crosses a border which shouldn't be crossed.

ASCN, NORAD, XETIC, SA, CA, BOB, G-Alliance (later D2), LV, V, TCF, etc. etc. Each alliance were involved in different wars of interest. Some alliances collapsed and renamed.

I think you know me well enough that I never condone such things as macro farming, duping or exploiting. Hell we were fighting RA former time which was well known for doing the plex exploit. But we never wanted them to quit. We wanted CCP to stop the horrendous exploiting and since they were slowboats we tried to do it ourselves.

I don't want my enemies to quit because if I want to pew pew. I want them to stay and fight.

Goons brought newbies to the game by showing that you don't have to have 20 mil SP to get into the fun and blow up or tackle caps with your mighty Rifter! Sounds like playing a game for fun to me~~~

"Blob?" Please, people have been trying to drag more people into a fight since the server went up. I remember when a 40 vs 25 battleship fleet fight was big news on CAOD (and people cried "Blob!" then). We as an entity weren't established then.

We didn't invent the metagame, and we're not the best at it (:madprops: to GH-SC), and the devs love it. We play within the bounds of the EULA, just like everyone else. 0.0 is about playing to win. To break the long cycle of siege warfare you need to ruin the game for the enemy. That means making it so they don't want to log in, or force them to do boring things. That's all there is to it.

As for the polarized nature of EVE, that isn't our fault either. If some blowhard didn't come along stealing Chowdown's targets, things might be a lot different today.

Now, what we have done for the game is increase the visibility of EVE Online with our war and our antics (much like how the GH-SC heist brought a lot of people in) and drama causing. CCP, remember, saw an increase in subscriptions when BoB was disbanded.

We also brought a lot of newbees into this game and taught them that you don't need to be a player from 2003 to matter in this game. Titans got balanced. A dev with compromised ethics was exposed.

EVEmon started as a Goon project, is now open source and used by many players. EVE-map (Lhyda's little program) will probably go the same route.

So I ask what have we done to ruin this game? Post a lot?

I can remember several wars going on in eve at the same time between different parties. A pluralism which was nice to see. ASCN, NORAD, XETIC, SA, CA, BOB, G-Alliance (later D2), LV, V, TCF, etc. etc. Each alliance were involved in different wars of interest. Some alliances collapsed and renamed.

2 blocks blobbing the utter crap out of each other, where one is on an obvious holy crusade and the leader openly calls out for RUINing the game to others on a public platform. Do it on your TS, keep it for yourself, I don't care but I do not in any way like this and I think I am allowed to express my dislike here as thousand of goons are allowed to spam the forum with ridiculous, not even slightly thought through, posts.
Btw. tell me please how this spam contributed to the game and the level of experience?

can i just point out at this juncture, that this afternoon I had almost 1.1 billion ISK of ships items and money stolen by this lot, when i was under the understanding that i was joining their corp.

somehow i wasnt quite right, and i believe "mitani" said to fail the contract to do with 750m ISK

i still dont have a clue why it was failed, what ive done wrong, could one of you "goons" please clarify this for me?

If you host for example a game of monopoly with your r/l friends, would you like it if one at the table would tell his friend that he should constantly collect all your cash and throw it over the whole table? Further make an egg explode in your microwave, puke beer all over your couch and **** in the floor? That's what a bastard would probably do which you call out. Ruin the game for the others particpating.

I mean, c'mon get a little straightened here. Have your wars, and have your engagements for the fun of it, but don't drag it on far below WoW level.

honestly this makes me lol, what could you need a futher half a billion for, when it is you as an organisation who has confiscated my things, unlawfully cancelling a contract that i had not breached.

aside from the fact that i wouldnt give anyone from your organisation another credit, i have no money now anyway .

When the Goons first came to Eve, they called themselves GoonFleet. In that very nascent state, still flying frigates (as were we,) their first encounter was with me.
