Can we get an indicator that shows how much damage (S:% A:% H:%) a drone has, and can we perhaps select a drone to repair in our drone bay (slowly)? Only one would repair at a time, and would be controlled via a list priority system (ie, top-est drone gets repaired first, you can move them up or down the list at your own desire), so as not to allow mass drone repair.
The amount repaired could be something along the lines of 1% shield, 1% armour & 1% hull every 5 seconds (acting a bit like the shield does at the moment when you suck them in, only to a much lesser extent). It would take roughly 8 minutes to repair a drone at 1% hull/armour to full at this speed (shield would obviously finish before hand due to shield regeneration). --- Grez: I shot the sheriff Kalazar: But I could not lock the Deputy BECAUSE OF FALCON |

That should be a nice feature. As long as it doesn't work in W-space. On the other hand, why are you reading my signature? |

Damage indicator for drones in bay? Good idea, i support this. Another nice option would be the ability to name the drones, so you can remember which one was used/damaged.
Repair service in drone bay is obsolete and overpowered, it removes the need for logistics. You can fit shield/armor/hull rr and rep them out of bay when needed. Or bring a repair drone. If you dont want to fit rr permanentley, then bring a friend with maintenance service (carrier/orca/rorqual/...) so you can refit in space as needed. Maintenance service also provides the feature to swap/replace lost drones in space.

A while back I made a propsal for a set of active rigs, That only effect your ship when activated (obv.) One of the rigs I proposed was Drone Bay repper, Which when you activated the rig, directed the nanobots/energy of your regular defenses (shield booster/armor repper) to your drone bay and would rep your drones.
The idea was that the size of the repper & size of the drones had an even corrolation, In that a Large drone vessle such as a Domi or Typhoon w/ LAR would beable to rep a set of heavy/sentries in the same time that a cruiser with a MAR could rep a set of mediums, and Frigs with a SAR a set of lights.

Highslot module. Similar to remote reps, but only works for drones, and have a substantially longer range than unbonused remote reps (Say, your drone control range). They rep a certain amount of hull/armor/shield in coordination of how much total HP the drone has. Yay, that's what i do on small ships. On a carrier with lots of combined drone groups you get crazy as soon as you start moving them arround.
Naming drones would be really nice.
The option to load/save/import/export drone groups would also be cool.

Hmmm... nanite paste could be acceptable if it is slow, bulky and expensive enough, and if you cannot cloak before repair of the drone is finished.
Where do you see the primary application of do-it-yourself-repair of drones using this way? Why not bring a friend and use maint service? Maybe for solo W-Space where it is hard to bring an orca in and back home in one piece just for one afternoon?
Another option would be to ask for a verry slow hull repair drone which could do this job for ships with large drone bays, so no remote hull repper needs to be fitted.

As you can't have drones of different types in the same group you'd have to have lots of damaged groups - its not really that practical an option.

While I'd love the OP's idea, I think Nanite Paste sounds better in that, A. You cannot do it indefinitely. B. It has a price. C. It would be instant. D. Probably easier to implement. However, on another note, I now have one of those annoying sigs. |
