OK, so it wont auto-log me in. I guess that was me hoping for too much. But, it's also not saving my password. I have to type it in every time.

Edited by: FreeBird2k on 21/04/2008 22:11:00 IĈve managed to get it to 2880x768 res across my triple monitors (3-1280x1024) without using TripleHead2Go device in window mode. I am trying to get 3840x900 or 3840x1024 resolutions and IĈm still working on that so once I get it to work IĈll be happy. I somewhat tricked the Eve program using my dual head nvidia videocard that you can make your dual monitor to span and the highest resolution setting which my monitor didnĈt really support it it was all goofy until I get the resolution set then quit the program. I set the monitor back to normal and run the program and gave me the resolution option to 2880x768 in window mode. Not too bad I can open IE on the very end on the side of the monitors which is readable and IM on the other side after I centered the window to the middle monitor whiel the window overlapped 2/3rd of the sides screens. IĈm going to try to make a link of the photo later.
Oh by the way I have 2nd PCI-e video card and thats how I got 3 monitors going but I can't span 3 monitors, only 1 videocard can span not both cards.
pref.ini seem usless for me. I wish CCP was more flexible with the pref.ini tweaks to us. this game still rocks!

They removed this feature from the prefs.ini after the mass account theft last year or whenever it was. The remember password line doesn nothing now. |

Has anybody been able to get desktopHeight and desktopWidth to work in the prefs.ini? I usually have 1 EVE window a different size of the other and now this has become a difficult task to do on a daily basis by hand.
Any suggestions?

This might be a dumb question, but where is prefs.ini
I checked all the eve folders and don't see it.

Probably because you use EVE Launcher
Why doesn't anyone bother to update this guide it clearly seems to help people get better performance and such... Besides how does anyone get info about those variables if none of the CCP employees ever publicly talk about it?

I can't get EVE to connect at work, but I do get EVEmon to run...
In EVEmon I have the following options:
Use custom proxy settings: Here I enter the Host and port. Together with authentication settings where I enter my username and pass.
That got EVEmon to connect. Does EVEmon use the same port as EVE does? And if it does how can I get these settings done for EVE in prefs.ini?
Many thanks in advance!

Originally by: Nkiru Edited by: Nkiru on 15/03/2006 00:54:09 There is a simple way to do this: 1. Manage to have a SSH connection through were you are I was using Bitvise WinSSHD and Tunnelier to create a SSH tunnel. I still use Tunnelier but now I have a full linux server with OpenSSH. Bitevise website PS: WinSSHD is not free, but Tunnelier is for private use.
2. After you have a connection, go in tunnelier under the C2S fwding tab and add a new entry with these setting: Listen address: 127.0.0.1 Local Port: 26000 Remote address: 87.237.88.200 NEW CLUSTER IP Remote Port: 26000 Comment: EVE
you will need to disconnect and reconnect to enable the port fowarding.
3. Start eve and click on the dropdown for the server. select the text and type 127.0.0.1 instead of "tranquility".
et voila! if you did it right, you will have the Motd and server status. that work for me, maybe for you too.
this worked perfect !!! although to clear thing up for some ppl, cause i was confused at first how to do it ... - you need to install the server on your home PC (nothing needs to be set if your company lets you use port 22, if not like in my case i had to go to Settings-Server-Bindings and change the 22 into 443) - run the server - at work install the tunnelier - in tunnelier configure the next to be able to connect to your home PC: - host (your home PC IP) - port (default is 22, but i had to change it to 443) - username/password or whatever means you choose to authenticate - login and set the above quoted stuff (don't change any port settings in the EVE .ini files!) latest Remote address:87.237.38.200 |

First go to Control Panel in Vista, open Folder Options and Click the View Tab, Look dow the list and click for 'Show hidden files and folder' Apply.
Next is C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings
You'll find one copy of the Pref.ini file in there
and
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\settings
a second copy of the Pref.ini in there.
But to be honest it won't do you any good. Enabling advanced graphics doesn't show the AA box.

I can't seem to get this to work. I'm doing my port forwarding through ssh using Tunnelier, it tells me: ... Authentication completed. Initializing client-side client-2-server forwarding on 127.0.0.1:26000 succeeded. Auto opening SFTP session. Auto opening xterm terminal session.
______ So we know that port 22 is letting me through.
In tunnelier under the C2S fwding tab I added a new entry with these settings: Listen address: 127.0.0.1 Local Port: 26000 Remote address: 87.237.88.200 NEW CLUSTER IP Remote Port: 26000 Comment: EVE
I have not changed any settings in the eve prefs.ini file located under C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings
It still is not working... Do I need to change anything in the prefs.ini file & is that still the correct prefs.ini file directory? Do I need to add any S2C forwarding in Tunnelier? Do I need any Socks/Proxy Forwarding enabled under the "Services" Tab? There is also a Proxy settings button under the "Login" tab do I enable proxy & change any settings in there? There is also settings under the "Terminal" tab do I change anything in there?
Any input to make a complete guide would really help me out.
Thanks for any help. |

Edited by: Lord Draconian on 12/01/2009 21:47:42 Ok It looks like I got it to communicate, now when Eve connects I get:
SSH_OPEN_ADMINISTRATIVELY_PROHIBITED
So I guess these free shell accounts aren't going to work.

I'm connecting through Tunnelier and Sockscap with a server set up at my home. But just recently I started receiving an error when attempting to connect. Incompatible (protocol) I've been tweaking and fiddling for the last hour or so now to no avail. Has anyone else run into this error and if so how did you work around it.
