Ubuntu 9.04.
Ubuntu has been my primary OS for 3.5 years. I kept WinXP as a dual boot option until early 2008 - got wiped then. Hadn't booted it in ages anyway.
Thanks to wine the games I play work on Linux. |

I'm happy CCP at least pays lip service to us crazy Linux folks. Most game companies seem to prefer pretending Linux doesn't exist. :( |

My current Linux version is 2.6.30-rc6 with Reiser4 patch and a small patch to make Ati fglrx work with this version.
Yes, Linux distribution. People say "Linux" for "Linux distribution" just the way you say "Linux" for "Linux kernel". So, please, say what distribution is your bug-ridden, unstable and untested version of Linux based on?
If you compile your own, it is the kernel version + gcc, libraries, etc. Check out LFS (Linux from scratch) and it's a good spot to learn how. I have a box at home that's built from scratch manually following the guidelines from LFS. It's incredibly fast to have every single piece compiled from scratch ;) It is, however, VERY hard to maintain for upgrades though since you have to do quite a bit of investigation on what patches you need to upgrade components without breaking the entire thing.

You may want to consider starting to migrate away from the Reiser branch. Given the author's current accessibility and mobility issues there's considerable doubt that he can continue maintaining it. In any case, there are now good solid alternatives.
One of these days I may need to revisit it, though -- I have at least one hard disk in my drawer from a defunct system with reiserfs on it that I'd like to recover.

Kubuntu, always up to date. I used to use the Gnome version of Ubuntu but the KDE4 desktop is just so much cooler :-]

I patch the Reiser4 patch myself (ie: to get it working on the latest kernel). Sometime I get the Edward patch, wich contain bugfix and improvement. Currently I'm still reporting bug and I can tell you one thing : Reiser4 is not dead! It's the open source power... The author can die, this will not stop a project to live (if the project is usefull)
Current R4 patch here up to 2.6.30.
Edit : btrfs will be a good remplacement when he will get a stable diskformat... Until that, I use it only for my laptop cheapo SSD.
