So I was playing around on Google Earth the other day and I started finding eve ships loitering around the world, how odd.
Abaddon at Vegas Airport Avatar over Rome Hulk flying over the Statue of Liberty Nyx checking out Paris Thorax visiting Sydney Harbour
Since the new preview window has come out we now know how big all the ships and stations are in eve. But it's nice to know your Hulk is 660m long but unless you've got something 660m long to compare it to (even I'm not that big) it makes it hard to visualise. So I've ruled some lines in Google Earth to get the exact measurements and placed the ships on top. Enjoy the pics, I might make some more later on if you really want. |

However, can you make them at somewhat of an angle, or multiple angles? Looking top-down doesn't really show the altitude, especially on the huge ships. |

Can this be confirmed, because imo that is what these shops have going for them. If they are not correctly scaled there is little point. If they are in scale though, its a great job at displaying the size and relativety of EVE ships.

I checked the size of the ships in the preview window then drew a line (you can see the measurement in each pic) with google earth and scaled the ships down to cover the line exactly. That's about as accurate as I can make it. |

Edited by: Mithfindel on 16/06/2009 18:38:34 The trick is that the "axis length" on the preview window isn't exactly the scale. Very close, but not exactly. I think in the ship charts made the scale was measured from the model file.

Edit: Oh, on the very lower left of the ship chart you can see the Eiffel Tower from Paris(, France) for scale. |

because they are at a national park which is 1.0 NYC during the day. now Harlem at night, a Titan could end up on blocks there by morning if left unlocked.
now we just need a Jove ship at Area 51. |

Is that Avatar, In Rome to meet with the pope? or to destroy Vatican City lol. Great work its cool to see what they ships size would be in real life.
If anyone plays garrys mod 10, or knows about it theres a mod with eve ships. Its prity cool geting to walk around them or on top of a space port. Garrys Mod is what they used to make Clear Skys btw
