Hes at the hospital in the emergency room after he called 911 saying he had a heart attack but only the tabloids are saying hes dead so far. Apparently though they had to perform CPR wheil enroute to the hospital so that might not be good. On an unrelated note, Kneel before Zod! |

Edited by: shaqarava on 25/06/2009 22:13:09 Probably a publicity stunt. They'll tell the fans and people who had tickets for his concert to still go, as a tribute to Jackson. They'll wheel in his coffin for people to mark their respects in a 5 minute silence, and then he jumps out of the coffin dressed as a zombie and launches straight into Thriller.

Was he extremely talented? Definitely.
Do I really care anymore? Not so much.
He hasn't done anything really amazing for about 20 years. He just lived off of his early success and milked it to the last drop. I don't have a problem with that. I can understand that.
What I do have a problem with was his bat**** crazy life. The bizarre marriage(s); the pedo stories that are just too ****ed up not to have merit (I mean look at Neverland Ranch); just the whole damn thing. There's eccentric, then there's MJ. I mean, it's one thing to say, "Hey, I'm different. I do my own thing." It's another to say that and then do something so out there and obviously "I'm more than a little sick" that even his biggest fans say, "Wait, what?"
So not really a great loss . I do feel sorry for his family, especially his sons, who can't possibly hope for a normal life ever.

Paramedics responded to a 911 call around 12pm local time, finding Jackson unconscious and not breathing. They rushed him to the hospital (a 6 minute drive) performing CPR the entire trip, Jackson remained non responsive, and was comatose upon arrival, and never regained consciousness.

I used to like MJ's music when I was a child. Then I grew up and didn't like it anymore. Last thing I liked from him was probably Scream's video (and how the music was mixed.) TBH, Kurt's Cobain death meant more for me. But MJ was important for a lot of people. He was a notable figure. So we'll see a lot about him in the following days. ----

All that he achieved real or imagined means nothing, he f**ked kids, that's what he'll be remembered for, h1tler turned Germany around from depression and internal turmoil and made it a European power house, but we'll just ignore the deliberate mass murder coz u know he was a cool guy an everything.

This.
The term innocent until proven guilty obviously doesn't count if the media can sell papers out of it though

Fame brings out the Worst and the Best in people.
It brought out the best in Ed McMahon on the Tonight Show, the best in Farrah Fawcett on Charlie's Angels and in her fight against cancer, and the best in Michael Jackson in his music and effect on people.
It brought out the worst in Ed through his money problems, Farrah in her loopy behavior at times, and Michael in the weird freakin stuff that he did.
No one's hands are clean in the entertainment industry but when figures like these three leave us, it's best to look back on the happier moments...the ones that made us stare up at them in awe and wonder...curious as to how they did it and where they were going.
Well folks its the same place we all go, a hole in the ground and yet...we remain in the hearts of the ones we affected.
So lets do that for these three celebrities today, remember the good parts of their lives when they strode the Earth like Titans and made us laugh, smile, or sing.
RIP, we will miss all of you.

He was a visionary. Just reference his song lyrics:
ABC As simple as 123...
Obviously- he was talking about mining Arkanor, Bistot and Crokite. Very simple if you only train to level 3. Of course, he failed to mention the difficulties of NullSec Ninja Mining, and for the extra few days of training you could use T2 Crystals for those ore's and get a better yield from your Strips and getting a better refining yeild back at the station. MJ always did have his head up his ass- I never liked that guy.

As for you people saying innocent until proven guilty and harking on about his achievements, wtf you're like those c**ksuckers were going to have to put up with for the next month or so who'll becoming out of the wood work to sprout bull**** about his talent and impact and conveniently forget about his "indiscretions".

to all the idiots on here saying that it's good he has died or are cracking jokes about his life, you should all be ashamed of yourselves. You are all showing that you are nothing more than juvenile idiots. MJ was a musical genius who took the world by storm and was one of the few megastars we have left in this world. Yes his personal life was a bit dubious but that doesn't distract from what a great talent he was. I have noticed on many other forums that the ban stick is coming out for all the libel that is being commited, and I urge ccp to do the same thing. He was found innocent in a court of law and the comments being expressed should be edited out and the author being banned for a week or so. CCP is accountable for content on the boards I would imagine, and thus COULD be sued by jacksons family. Think before you post...

I resent that snide remark; I'm quite a few other things in addition to being a juvenile idiot. I'm certainly not ashamed of having a giggle over the demise of a dangerously disturbed, sexual predator with a penchant for buying his way out of trouble. Musical genius? Possibly.
Dubious personal life? Just a bit, and given that it was his position as an entertainer that afforded him the opportunity to take advantage I'd say it does detract from what a talent he was. Good job CCP aren't subject to your urges though, isn't it? Originally by: Nigel Sheldon He was found innocent in a court of law and the comments being expressed should be edited out and the author being banned for a week or so.
Well, for an innocent man he sure paid a lot of money to various children's families to ensure that at least one case (that we know about) didn't go to trial... and the question you have to ask yourself is; would you want him to baby-sit your children. If the answer is no, then you have your suspicions too, you just ain't honest enough to admit it. Originally by: Nigel Sheldon CCP is accountable for content on the boards I would imagine, and thus COULD be sued by jacksons family.
CCP may well be accountable for the boards, but unfortunately Jackson is now dead and would find it extremely difficult to sue for libel or defamation of character... unless Yuri Geller handles the communications that is. Originally by: Nigel Sheldon

Slander is actually usually committed by speech and therefore different from libel which is a similar offence , but in a permanent medium. It's either one or the other... however....
In either case, even if Jacko was up and about fair comment is a defense in law that I doubt even a good lawyer could beat for him.
Regardless of this(see above post), as the injured party has to be the one offended for there to be anything requiring remedy in law, and I feel pretty confident that testimony by over made up zombies isn't yet admissable in courts on either side of the Atlantic, we're probably pretty safe from the legally sanctioned wrath of MJ.
Here's a radical idea... why not actually learn something about law before shooting your mouth off? Just a thought.

wether I would want him around my fictional kids is not the point....I for one do believe he was guilty, let's get that striaght, and I have in no way defended his personal life. But it is not for us to say the libelous content. He was proven innocent in a court of law. We all know OJ killed his wife, it was obvious, but again he was found innocent and thus can not be held responsible. I have since had a brief look at the law, and you are right, a family can not sue, but in 9/10 cases that I have just looked at compensation was agreed with the agrieving parties. So I admit my mistake, one can only go with what one is told. However it doesn't make light of the comments that some people are posting on here, it's sick to the extreme edges of taste, and if indeed most people are fully grown consenting adults they really should know better. I wonder what it is with forums that make some people look like complete ****? Is it that they want to appear hard in front of their peers? Whatever you think of the mans personal life, no one can deny that in his genre he was without the best musician....

Read this carefully:-
You can't committ libel or slander against a dead person
Unfortunately for you, OJ is still alive (to the best of my knowledge) and as you have publically stated that he killed his wife when he was found innocent, you are actually in the unique position of being the only person in this thread who has actually committed an act of libel that would be actionable in a court of law.
Can you spell ironic?

Edited by: Merin Ryskin on 26/06/2009 09:56:43 Oh, how I love internet lawyers...
Here's a hint moron: the rules about libel are different for public figures (and given all the news stories of his death, I think he qualifies). Quoting wikipedia:
Special rules apply in the case of statements made in the press concerning public figures, which can be used as a defense. A series of court rulings led by New York Times Co. v. Sullivan, 376 U.S. 254 (1964) established that for a public official (or other legitimate public figure) to win a libel case, the statement must have been published knowing it to be false or with reckless disregard to its truth, (also known as actual malice).[15]
Emphasis mine. Since the people posting the "libelous" comments believe him to be guilty, it doesn't matter that he was found innocent in court. Any lawsuit over the comments would be thrown out within minutes.
Of course it probably wouldn't work even if he wasn't famous, as there are multiple defenses against libel charges that would probably apply to a "he's guilty" forum post, but the fact that he is a public figure with a bad reputation means there is exactly zero chance of a plausible libel case.
As for the OP: goodbye, and good riddance. You will not be mourned. -----------

OJ Simpson was also acquitted, what's your point?
He bought his way out of a conviction that would've resulted in him being found guilty, he knew it, his legal team certainly knew it, and Californian law was changed afterwards to prevent out of court settlements stopping a full criminal investigation, so they obviously knew it.
At the risk of sounding repetitive, one less sexual predator is a good thing.

That doesn't mean he was guilty, it could just mean that he was cornered and wanted to stop the media circus.
Put it this way: If you were a world renown celebrity, with billions of dollars, and that someone suddenly falsely accused you of something shameful and morally unacceptable just cause they know they would be able to get money off you with a lawsuit, that you can't prove them wrong even thought it's not true, and that everybody is against you. What would YOU do?
The damage was already done the second the accusations came up. Accuse anyone of pedophilia, and no matter if it's true or not, once others know it, it's too late. The topic is so morally unacceptable that no matter what the accused may say in his defense, nobody will believe him unless he can prove it didn't happen with undeniable facts.
Now, if he's truly guilty of those charges, he did get what he deserved, but until someone can actually prove what happened (with facts, not words), I won't believe it. Granted, he was a weird bird and he had issues, but he didn't have an easy life either (abusive father, money issues, addiction to sleeping pills, vitiligo, etc...).
Maybe now that he's dead, the actual truth will start coming out. |

In 1993 13-year-old Jordy Chandler testified in a court affidavit that Jackson had initiated a protracted but unwanted sexual relationship. Chandler's descriptions of discolourations around Jackson's genitals prompted prosecutors to order Jackson to submit to a series of naked photographs, which, according to the lead detective on the case, corroborated the boy's story. The case never came to trial, however, because Jackson - who denied all wrong-doing - settled a parallel civil suit for an undisclosed multi-million-dollar figure, and Chandler decided not to testify further.
As a direct result of this case the law was changed and prosecutors now have the power to postpone civil suits until criminal proceedings have been exhausted. Offering money in the hope that a witness will retract or go away is no longer an option.
This is fact, he was guilty and he bought his way out of jail, they changed law because of it.
You just keep burying your head in the sand, once again I refer you to my earlier statement "one less sexual predator is a good thing".

All the jockeys at uk race meetings this weekend will will wear black arm bands tomorrow for MJ as he's ridden the most 3 year olds.
I'd say that was a bit near the knuckle, but I've seen the video evidence and as I recall it was closer to the wrist.

Are you ******ed just check the facts of the 1993 Chandler case, you people make me sick.
This is Dray, one of the paedo's fanboys complained about one of my posts and I've been banned for 30 days.
Damn, I guess he was right, your posts WERE in fact out of line.

The ban was for using a swear word, as for me not being comfortable with the deification of a paedophile I guess I'll just have to live with that.
Who's the fool now? if my informed factual opinion means I am, I can live with that as well.

it is quite a shame that such a person has passed but we all got to go. As for MJs disgressions, only one person can judge him now, an dim sure that MJ himself is saying "OH CRAP" as he stands before his maker in reverence. As i posted in another thread befor eit all got moved here, i looked for it jsut now but appairently it didnt get moved here but ill repost it,....
I could have swarn that i seen MJ in a pod in a wormhole about midnight last night being chased and fired on by a bunch of really young sleepers,... He zipped past me like his ars was on fire and his hair was ketchin as it is said. The last thing i can tell you is seeing in local a girlish screem,....then silence,... Sleep well sweet prince,...retrobution is given only by the creator. -=+>xXx<+=- fly save and keep your back door to your pod locked.

It's just been reported that the LAPD are holding an open day Duck shooting contest.
If anyone finds the Quack that was handing out Demerol injections like candy at neverneverland, they would like to give him a *warm welcome back and pat on the back for his contribution to modern American society.
Then again, if anyone hands his sorry ass in, they dont care what state its in so long as its almost got a heartbeat, which is more than he left MJ with...

Surely they can accept it on the principle it's probably been occurring for 98% of human history, and also occurs in other primates and animals?

Wait, you were banned in a forum that censor's swear words for using a swear word? Some how I don't think that's quite right or else I should have a 2 year ban on me right now. I bet the more appropriate term that ccp used was most likely trolling.

It wasn't trolling, it's merely the simple fact that some people can forgive a paedophile his "indiscretions" because he was a great pop star.

You seem to misunderstand, I don't think anyone here is "Forgiving" him for anything, they simply don't believe that he did anything to be forgiven about, I.E, They don't think he did it.
There's a world of difference between forgiving him for doing it and not believing he did it in the first place.
I would feel totally different about the situation if I knew he was guilty, there should be no second chances for paedophiles, however, condemning someone without all the facts is wrong. For all we know people were saying "Pay us or we'll spread rumours"(And a rumour is all it takes, as amply proven by yourself), we really don't know what went on and so I prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt, innocent until proven guilty and all that.

ONLY IN AMERICA, can a suspected pedophyle >spelling< blow thru all his money >no punn intended< and then plan a "come back tour" jsut to get enuf money to live on, becasue hes paying out all that money to all the kids hes molested in the past, and trying to pay for the lawyers to keep his rear out of jail.
DAMN,...where did i go wrong?
ide rather be broke and sitting here playing EVE then a pedophyle and being laughed at becasue my plastic nose fell off and is stuck in my butt and i die from it.
CCP Im sorry for being rude in this case,...i never did like MJ, i thought he was good before his "Lifes change" but he did what he did only to be closer to his idol Donna summers,....Thats what his story is all about,....
I did write more about this subject but Im gonna give this subject a rest,....I deleted a lot in this post over all this,.....With all joking aside, MJ was a big Idol to a lot of people this is all to true, BUT he was a really screwed up individule, this fact is undeniable to a fault. My thougths and prayers go out to the Jackson family.

They changed the law because the it demonstrated that out of court civil damages cases wouldn't go to a criminal trial if an out of court settlement was agreed.

What I'm saying is that an out of court settlement does not necessarily mean he was guilty. You can't say that it does either, nobody knows the facts. Please, don't try to bring age into this, our relative ages have no bearing on the validity of our arguments. |

The facts are there as a matter of public record, are you so stupid and blinkered you don't want to know the truth, it's not rocket science, do the ground work and examine the facts, I'm not offering opinion here, I'm telling you it's there for all to see just go and look at it.
What part of what I've said is so hard to understand???????
In 1993 the Chandlers brought the case to the Los Angeles county court, at that time a civil court action was prosecuted but settled by a damages payment out of court that meant that no criminal charges would be pursued, because of this case and Jacksons guilt, the LAW WAS CHANGED, do you get that?? the LAW WAS CHANGED, why? so wealth couldn't buy a guarantee of safety from conviction.
Because of it no civil actions could be prosecuted until criminal cases were resolved, there by guaranteeing that you couldn't buy a get out of jail free card and escape conviction.

News of my death and/or quitting has been greatly exagerated...
On that bombshell, I have to admit an innocent man does not throw money at his accusers in such a case. While his music was awesome and his dance moves spectaculor, I feel as if his private life on the "Neverland Ranch" significantly detracts from this. I remember talking my babysitter into letting me stay up to watch the premire of the Thriller video.
As much as I hate pop music and the assembly line music industry, MJ was the king of song and dance. Very few in the last 100 years can say that they had even close to the impact that he did on the whole of a scene as MJ did.
May he finally rest in peace.

It's hard to believe, and sad that he died at his age. I was so looking forward to his gigs at the O2, my once in a lifetime chance to see the undisputed King of Pop perform on stage. His performances were always reputed to be high-energy and full of spectacle that very few, if any can come close to matching, before, then or since. I heard from a friend who saw him live at Wembley some years back, that he came down from the roof of the stage and without so much as moving a muscle, the packed-out crowd were going mad. After standing like a statue for what seemed like an eternity, he suddenly turned his head, literally nothing more than that, and again the crowd went completely wild. How many artists can do that?
I was sad that he was plagued by misfortune and clearly many issues for many years, but growing up in the 80s (best decade bar none!) he was a huge influence on the entire music industry and to this day, Thriller is still the best selling album of all time. RIP MJ, you'll be sorely missed. |

I have mixed feelings over this. On one hand MJ was just one of 150 000 people who died that day.
On the other hand, despite what the media painted him to be, he was clearly an inspiration to many.
So RIP the to the inspiration that the strange man (and there is nothing wrong with being different) gave to many.
Still, no smoke without fire, eh?

It's a shame to see him die so young, but not completely unexpected, considering his rather tragic life. The way he had mutilated himself over the years was just awful to watch.
I thought he was a talented singer and performer, and had done some classic music, and he should be remembered for that, but let us not forget the bad stuff too, because to ignore it is to deny reality. We should look at Michael's life and say to ourselves "that is what fame can do to people".
Michael had a massive effect on the music community, but he was also a deeply disturbed man. Mourn his death, but please don't turn him into a messianic figure over it.
Remember, thousands upon thousands of good people die every day. Michael's death may be a loss, but it pales into insignificance compared to the world as a whole.
