Jita, 27 June 2009 -- The last few weeks have seen the end of Reikoku Corporation's and the Band of Brothers Alliance sovereignity in 0.0 space. While it's not the result we played for, it is what it is. Congratulations to our foes and thanks to our members and allies.
The Great War has been many things to us and probably our foes: at times fun, exciting, disappointing, intriguing, and frustrating--often all at the same time. It's now at an end and it is time to move forward. That's EVE and that's the game we enjoy playing. Our alliance and our corporation aren't going to end; we aren't disppearing to PO(s)TBS. We were happy to be part of the greatest conflict in EVE's history; we're equally happy to be moving on.
For RKK it means we can now explore aspects of the game previously unknown to us. We will be joining Faction Warfare on the Minmatar side, pretty much all we've got left is rust and duct-tape so it seems a natural fit. This means that, for now, we will not be part of an in-game alliance, it means that we will revert to the original bonds that made us a Band of Brothers, a bond that has always superceded any IGA. They're our best friends and the best people to have at your side: those relationships won't change.
Everyone else, unless we've spoken to you you may consider this our standings reset - which will be effective from DT on Sunday, 28 June.
Thanks everyone who ever pew-pewed for or against us. It's been a blast for four years; here's hoping for at least another four years of fun, excitment and good gaming. |

To those we have fought against: RKK has always respected our enemies and from our begining until now, we've always enjoyed fighting our enemies, whether we were destroying an alliance, capturing a region, or defending our home, it has been a pleasure.
To those who we've fought with: Ex-RKK members, you will all be remembered, some of the greatest in eve have graced our corp, and some still do. For our allies who have always stood by RKK/BoB when we needed them, no one has ever let us down.
Very few corps or alliances have the history in Eve that Reikoku does, and it is a history that I am personally DAMN proud of. For most of our time ingame we've been considered the best there is, and that is 100% because of the devotion of our average grunt, players capable of leading other alliances. We've torn through Eve's history and dominated it's stories and it's map, but finally our holding days have come to an end, but we WILL be feared, and we will NOT be forgotten, i promise this.
Again, thanks to our friends, thanks to our enemies, and thanks to the verse, we've had an awesome run and hopefully it will only get better.

It has been fun for past 2-3 years fighting along with RKK and especially SFShootme as a great FC. As much time as flying under GBC and also with the time in BNC, it was great experience and one that will never be forgotten. I applaud the time and the relentless effort of maintaining a strong unity that has formed The Band of Brothers.
Very few alliances have held that kind of bond for so long and there are always new allies and enemies to face in the coming days. As much as I never had the opportunity to talk directly to Dianabolic, all I can say is good luck for whatever comes your way and thank you for the opportunity and the success that is shared flying under the banner of The Band of Brothers Alliance. o7 |

i've had limited business dealings with Nick Curso and Dianabolic previously and found them to be nothing but nice folks. Have to say this is a classy end to a long war. Be good for goonswarm to leave it at that and move on but somehow i doubt it.

Neh, if theres one thing I've learned in playing the game since late 03 early 04, it's that nothing in 0.0 is permanent and in time things revert to chaos and war. How long do you think it'll be before Goons starts ****ing a lot of other people off? And well, not going to comment on the NC, as the NC is made up of a lot of corps and alliances that have technically been in the area since the days of the old PA, COD, FU, NORAD.
I wish RKK and Evol Good luck. I still watch old footage from the GNW 1 when PA was fighting you guys. Probably some of my most favorite fights I've ever been in were back then. Have fun with Faction warfare, just don't mission, missions are snore boring.

you may be right about them being more commited due to all the anger issues a lot of them perceived towards BOB and how they continued draging and spining the same old record time and again. even when the pos ammo bug was first noticed by goons their first reaction was "oh noes bob has another dev that emptied our pos guns" just to add more fuel to the fire when that was not even true in any way shape or form. However even though they were more commited that does not make them better.... surely your alt army has spies in some of their corps that you can clearly see that for yourself from checking their corps/alliances forums and how some of those so called commited alliances were actually wavering too on a member base level mostly. so your claims about them being better in my eyes is rather fabricated as im sure many others think that too.
also eddz trying to poach players i think you should stick to the recruitment channel in game and try to pass off your alliance as "an elite alliance" once again. When i saw that the other day i almost pished myself laughing 
now then RKK, i hope you guys have fun with FW and err well i'll make sure not to salvage near you :P Bux i hope you have a lot of luck with invention too

Incorrect. I said that CCP has not stated anywhere that I am aware of that what occured in terms in "game mechanics" with the BoB alliance was "unintended." I'll admit that perhaps I worded it poorly.
Some people seem to be under the mistaken belief that "it's not supposed to work that way."
You have seized upon something I didn't say to make a point that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. The vague and very general instances I listed were meant only to show that just because someone gets "done wrong" using "game mechanics," it doesn't necessarily follow that it was "unintended" or an exploit.

Well their side was a lot better coordinated, and made a LOT fewer serious strategic errors (f.i. staying camped in a station for a month) - yeah they had some of the strongest alliances in game on their side, more importantly they were firmly there and willing to commit and move assets to the theater, -A- is stronger than any of the alliances on goon side (with possible exception of goonswarm) but they couldn't be bothered to move capitals so far from home..

Sure most of the alliances KenZoku were up against were inferior to them, but the coalition fighting them was MUCH better coordinated than BoB's side ever was (you could see this when the fighting first moved to Delve when numbers were approximately equal and GBC fleets kept getting massacred on warping in right after the KenZoku fleets warped out, coordination was terrible.

Even getting a GM to break the rules and rename their alliance was a serious mistake, with negative effects on their own morale and image.
KenZoku was the central alliance in their coalition and responsible for coordination, morale and overall strategy, they failed miserably and I think it's entirely fair to say the other side was better than them, but that's just my opinion *shrug*

I think that was more the GMs fault for not sticking to the guidelines and pointing out what needs to be done instead of changing the name. you can always spot the fresh gms as they would rather cut and paste their automated responses then actually go into detail about anything lol

Personaly i give them them 2 weeks before they leave.
Not that they would be bad but because they will not find enough targets. If normal amarr militia fleets have from 15-30 people there is no way how Reikoku members will find enough targets so all members will be satisfied. Good luck.

Who knows really, but I'd wager 24th Crusader fleets will be more fun to shoot than POS shields. Heh, lets face it - capturing Amarrian complexes is more fun than shooting POS shields. Come to think of it - I'm hard pressed to think of many things in Eve that represent less fun than shooting POS shields.

They are not roleplayers they are pvp corporation and nobody would try to defend those plexes against there blob so after 1 captured system (probably lantorn) it will be their first and last system captured in FW. Not couse of fun but from boredom. And dont forget they were forced to defend poses protecting they 250-500 bil monthly income couse they owned somethink but you cant own npc space.
So i want to see how Dianbaloic will persuade them to plex empty plexes and speaking how much fut it is. Couse im taking plexes for empire but i dont consider it fun at all. So if i considered it boring and im amarr loyalist i doubt RKK view will be any different.
Unless minnies will pay them for it but i dont dont think minnies would have that much money to pay them for not to be bored.

Well the "point" of FW is to get entertaining fights and the way you make the enemy fight is to take away their complexes. You 24th Crusaders understand this and hopefully the Minmatar are learning fast as well. The great thing about fighting the Amarrian Militia is that your brains and organizers are roleplayers and really really (and I mean really) care about not losing systems to the Minmatar. So anyone can guarentee good fights just by complexing your space and ultimately putting the systems to vulnerable.
I honestly think the Amarrian Militia with its roleplaying commanders calling the shots will be a lot more fun to fight than the goons were ironically.

Yeah but come-on - how much fun is that for the average rank and file player? That moon income went into the alliance warchest for cap ships/pos/supercaps and what not. The average big alliance player doesn't see that much handout and needs to do a lot of boring pos-shooting grind for no real reward beyond esprit de corps. Why not cut through the rubbish and just earn that latter element having some actual good small and medium scale pvp engagements.

You plex Amarrian complexes and it spawns 24th Crusaders. You plex enough and it spawns a big bunker battle. No point moaning about no targets when you aren't hitting the right spawn button. The reason you might be a bit bored with the environment at the moment is both sides had settled into a defensive only plexing strategy. It needs somebody serious to make an offensive move and doing this in an organized fashion will force the enemy to face up and provide defense fleets.

You plex Amarrian complexes and it spawns 24th Crusaders. You plex enough and it spawns a big bunker battle. No point moaning about no targets when you aren't hitting the right spawn button. The reason you might be a bit bored with the environment at the moment is both sides had settled into a defensive only plexing strategy. It needs somebody serious to make an offensive move and doing this in an organized fashion will force the enemy to face up and provide defense fleets.

Might just be the error of reading various forums(this one , scrapheap , battledb) but from the way an empire carebear read it you never actually had any proper opposition , but it still took you 3-4 months to mop up the towers. The way goons frame it they could have done it solo in rifters easily. At least when taking it based on caod.
I've seen again and again posts on how your opponents were "fail" with "no leadership" , "bad strategies" , "no good FCs" etc.
So winning was apparently a foregone conclusion meaning that empiredwellers like myself just wonder why it took you so long?

Multiple threads across two forums (this one and Scrapheap) and really all 90% of you know how to do is whine about blobs, make up statistics and smack each other.
I keep thinking that at some point, even for the least creative thinkers in the pack, this would get old and people would just stop and move on to something else.

I see that the number of spies you have is equal to the amount of sov you control or relevancy you have left. If this weren't the case you would know these photos have been posted already elsewhere.
