Another thing that would be nice is a module to transfer drones from the cargo hold into the drone bay.
That would, I'm certain, be highly useful for pilots deep in wormhole space, or other places where they can't dock in stations.
Make it so that the transfer takes a long time, like 5 minutes per Small drone, 15 minutes per Medium drone, or even 1 hour per Large drone (2/3 time for T2 versions of the module).
The best solution is probably a module with a charge, where the charge is a certain volume of drones. Loading this module takes only a few seconds, but discharging it takes many minutes, and once the discharge process is over, the drone is moved from the module and into the drone bay (and then the module can be loaded with a new drone).
Should probably be LOW slot, since it is essentially about spare drones; it doesn't add to DPS.

It's called a 'carrier' or 'orca' and comes with a friendly pilot who is happy about teamwork and to be of use for somebody.
Please dont slap such pilots into face.

I, like some others, will support a module that increases the drone bay's size but not the bandwidth, and I also think it should incur a penalty much like other hull upgrades, either nerfing one's hold, speed or agility. The module is definitely a hull upgrade and should be treated as such.
Insert clever remark where? |

I came up with an interesting solution for a "drone damage mod" so that it wasn't over powered with drone damage + turrets and is a low slot module. It is in a different thread.

Basically its a low slot mod that takes up a turret/launcher hard point. anyone can equip them. I makes you chose between tank or gank but reduces your turrets focuses you more on your drones. Which there are negatives and positives for doing so. Like if they blow up your drones that is your only line of doing damage which is risky but less of a hassle then trying to micro manage guns + drones.
It might relate to this in that you want to reduce your turret hard points.

I still think low slot is where this should sit as it is a type of cargo expander and strangely ccp are about to bring in fuel bays in next patch - another type of cargo expander 
but I do now agree maybe the cpu and power grid requirements should be higher as if it was a high slot mod (time to work out some new numbers)
Still think it should give both m3 and Mbit/sec to allow you to use bigger drones or more drones that you can currently use on a ship.
And no not more than 5 drones and still only one expander to a ship which already has drone bay on it.

If you two got together... you could cripple the fitting on a Domi/Ishtar, and have some awesome DPS.
Low slots to expand the drone bay. Mid slots to increase the bandwidth. And HIGH SLOTS to increase the damage output.
Expanders shouldn't necessarily eat up CPU/PG, as much as they should just convert cargo space to drone space.
Bandwidth should be an active Mid like a sensor booster.
And damage should be a High, instead of his goofy "Low that also uses a hardpoint" idea. |
