Dawn of War 1: Grim, industrial war dirges, lots of pounding steel drums. Intense. CoH Opposing Fronts: The British themes are incredible. Pomp and facing stance, For the king, etc.

While Hell March is a tough one to beat, but I really like this one. Few people will know the game, but that song rocks. both songs were written by Frank Klepaki, so the legacy is there.
The entire OST is free to download here. The Hierarch section is a bit more metal, the Novus is more electronic and the Masari (where Divine Intervention is from) is more bombastic orchestral.

Old school: Mega Man. While the original megaman doesn't feature some of the absolute best tracks (like Topman or Storm Eagle) it's IMHO the best overall.
In terms of newer games VtM: Bloodlines had an awesome soundtrack that really set the mood. ______________________________________________ -My respect can not be won, only lost. It's given freely and only grudgingly withdrawn. |

I agree on VtM Bloodlines.
I would also like to mention Amercian McGees Alice, probably my favorite.
Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in the US) had a cozy soundtrack if I remember correctly.

Oh god. You just reminded me of two games that took up a significant portion of my youth, which incidentally had pretty awesome music.
Cannon Fodder and Speedball (the intro for speedball in particular has etched itself into my brain). ______________________________________________ -My respect can not be won, only lost. It's given freely and only grudgingly withdrawn. |

The opening intro soundtrack to Metal Gear Solid II : Sons of Liberty was by far one of the best, if not the best opening themem in computer game history.

Best game music composer evah. His work on Conquest Frontier Wars is probably the best of the bunch for music to blow ships up to.
