550m Dbank. It could have been worse. I've been lucky more than prudent.

My losses thus far..
100M to Boundlyss ( http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=828260 ) 100M to FedFleet ( http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=825619 )
Not too bad, overall, I guess. I'd liked to have made some smarter investments, but always seem to have too little ISK or am not around at the right times to do so.

I diversified, audited and researched. Yet it still ended up in a loss. Why should I bother feeding peoples ego's such as Galligher, who do this like trophy hunting. There isn't enough safeguards to make this viable and the recent bank failures seem to confirm this even more.
And for those that think it's just internet money, it has a real world value due to GTCs. Loosing a Billion means you loose about 60$ (roughly), which is money you could have saved if you bought game time with the ISK. Therefore, these scams are more than just a little prank. A scam of 40Bil, as has happened before equates to a real money scam of $1710. If you pulled that off in real life, the cops would be knocking on the door soon enough.

This is a typical post taken out of several other similar ones.
Let me ask a question then.
I also audited, checked etc. etc.
I ended up lucky, I did not lose anything *in banks*.
But I betted - and lost - on other game ventures. The whole game is a testament to "don't <invest | fly | whatever> what you can't afford to lose".
Why would you expect a zero percent loss when every time you undock you can lose a ship and a pod? Or every time you buy something to resell at a profit, it could backfire?
It's quite... understandable that by investing you'll gain some and lose some over the long period, and you aim at having gained more than lost (like some above reported).
Bad things, of course, rightfully happen to those:
- who undock in a ship with everything they had and that could not buy again
- who invest all of their money in one item to market (and then someone comes and "kills" them).
- who invest most of their money in bonds and banks and then the guy flees with the purse.
In trading and finance there's no high sec. - Auditing and consulting

2.1bil to Fury Bank and Fury Holdings
Unknown amount in selling all my stuff stuck in PNQY for a very small sum to mazzilliu in a fit of "I don't care anyway and don't want to keep a clone here" (not technically a scam, just feeling rather dumb about it).

50bil give or take -
Ionia (31bil, maybe 21bil I forget lol) Eve Casino - (100mil - 1bil again not 100% sure)
And many other smaller 100-1bil ones that I cant think of right now.
Over all I have made isk though in the 2nd'ary market, mostly with the re-selling of shares not holding them for profits. -----

I started losing a lot of my interest in investing even before Dbank impoded. For me, it's not really about the losses being demoralizing. It's more about the "wins" being demoralzing.
Even ignoring the losses, the gains from the successful investments just isn't that worthwhile. 5-6%, give or take, just isn't that much of a victory. Maybe it's different when you're throwing billions into each investment you make. But I don't have that much capital that I can "afford to lose" yet, so my investments limited to tens or hundreds of millions instead.
Once you figure in research, checking post history, reading audits, ect. it becomes too much effort for too little gain.
That's just my perspective, though. I guess if playing internet detective is what gets you off, or if you're already a forum ***** and know the investee's history, reputation, and everything already then all the bonds and IPO's are loads of fun.
But it seems like half the offerings are about scams and/or drama. That's obviously a really fun game for a lot of people, but I'm already starting to lose interest in it.

Around 15B between Furybank and Iona(sp)?
I vow to never invest in people again.
It is a lot easier to make ISK storing wealth in the form of implants (when they are low price).

Most definitely not a game breaking amount, but enough to serve as a stinging reminder that there are only two types of individuals who frequent these boards: Scammers and who havenŠt scammed yet.
There's a 3rd type: those who don't care or don't want to scam. If I was in dire need of money (don't know why), I'd just toss some GTCs. I respect myself enough not to dirty my name with that dishonor.
Just two types: those that have a life and those that don't.

Hmm where to start:
Loses (over 5+ years): ~25b - Stolen ~50b - Ganked ~75b - Investments
Gains (over 5+ years): ~100b - Mining ~100b - Reselling ~325b - Investments ~500b - Manufacturing
All rough estimates but you get the picture! ..
