That's something I've never understood, why do people feel that holding space is more important than enjoying the game?
Very simple reason. For most people winning is superior to having fun.
They find losing un-fun, so they prefer not risking that, even if it mean less fun.
errr...maybe winning IS fun?
Maybe holding space (achieving a goal) is fun?
Not everyone defines "fun" the same way If your definition of fun is balanced fair fights , twitch based , whenever you want them , with no consequences for winning or loosing...------------> WoW

Sigh, mandatory, unrelated reference to WOW, great argument.
About the intelligent part of your post, I suspect that it is not that winning with large blobs and without a serious fight is so much fun, but that losing is un-fun or negative fun.
So people prefer lesser quantities of positive fun than trying for larger levels of fun at the risk of large levels of negative fun.
I.e. the small fun they are sure to have is better than the larger fun they can maybe have with the risk of a large unhappiness if they lose.

Cap ships and PoS really ***** this game up imo. Cap ships are annoying because 1, they encourage blobbing, and 2, they they render smaller ships almost pointless. Its no fun to spend six months training to be a fly buzzing around a Rhinoceros.

I posted this as a hopefully helpful guide to many people that convo me everyday about if they should take the leap to 0.0.
You posted this as a whine and cry. It diminishes you, your corporation, and your alliance. It is perfectly within the rules of EVE etiquette to make fun of somebody who comes into the General forum and bawls like a little girl.

I just love when I blow up folks that pay with GTC, all the tears and rages are nice.
Imo, I think paying for ships with GTC is quit silly (more so multiple GTC per ship), I mean RL mony can be used for better things. This is just my opinion, and others feel different, and thats ok.
I have never raged and laugh too at the out of work people that have to sit and run missions for 13 hours a day for the 20mins of work I have to do in real life to afford the GTC.
sooner have those 13 hours to pay for all these transformers my #1 son loves.
Also, if you get people raging about losing their space pixels, carry on. They need to get their priorities sorted lol

Wildcat can post anything he wants in 'General discussion' with impunity of e-peen issues at the corp/alliance level, same as anyone else.
You wanna sound like a tough guy, go to CAOD and start posting this stuff gov.
No one in Wildcats corp/alliance will care about it in there either mind you.
You are taking Internet Space ships too seriously .

In EVE, all you have is your reputation and the ability to convince others. Tri's currency and DHB to a lesser extent was being bad ass. Now while I agree with DH on many things, I really dont understand the purpose of his post.
1. It was inflamatory 2. It bashed EVE's PVP endgame 3. It based your alliance by posting drivel from 'Premier' PVP alliance
If you dont understand the above, you fail at EVE. /thread
Your a fun bunch. However, like any good outfit, Tri takes Internet pew pew very seriously. But dont take offense. This is GD and nobody cares and this is just about Internet spaceships.

Failure on first line, congrats!

what does THIS have to do with people that have never PVP'ed asking the same question so many times an FAQ was created to answer it?

That is clear:

wow, you probably really believe that to be the truth. Here I have to draw the line, you sir are an idiot. I will not 'argue' with you, just nodding my head and smiling as I exit your day dream.
