Please please please can we have training for more than one character per account !!?? one of the things i was stumped by in eve was when i tried to make another character on the same account and get told no you can't train more than one character per account. I find this a bit tight seeing as i'm paying to play ( paying more than most mmo's) first thing i did when i started playing eve a couple months ago was to make sure i had a good income as i know that mmo's need cash flow so i made industry my bread winner and specced for this thinking i can make a pvp character as an alt. I dont want to do all the training on one character its a pain in the butt so maybe we could have another training character !!?? maybe second character at half speed training !!?? or an account upgrade for a few coins per month to have premium account. At the moment im using 3 accounts so i can play fluidly but i dont see that as long term unless of course theres a change cmon CCP have a heart and lift the training block i'm sure more people would play eve if it was a bit more friendly seeing it from the business side also cos thats what it is.

Theres no other mmo that I know that takes so long to train this is a competitive market thats growing immensely and eve could get left behind. All mmo's need new players to survive like it or not, the ones that play for years are a minority and would not keep the game going. I love the game just think theres a few things that need amending. PVE needs more content etc theres a huge amount of people in empire. I want to see eve around for a long time yet to come i've been playing mmo's since dark age of camelot which started as a grind fest. Friends who have done the same tried eve and gave up after a week on the trial, i'm trying to convince them that its got huge potential and try again (using the buddy system ofc) just think that the system needs to change to survive.

Edited by: Sharp Feather on 05/08/2009 11:53:03 in other MMO you cant level up another character while you are already ingame leveling one. Its the samething with this game.
And anyway you have 3 others account, are you stoopid or something? Just play the game and let this useless thread sink. LOGIC & MORE LOGIC

Left behind?
You realise this is the fastest growing MMO on the market, only recently taking second place after WoW right?

Well it's you trolling the boards by posting one of the most common topics, again.
Oh and I have no problems training my second, third nor fourth char btw.

You should have known better to do a search on the thread, read it from 1st page to last, then read the next 100 or so threads on the same subject the same way.. THEN post if you have something new to talk about. ________________________________________________

Fail OP, if you feel you need to progress faster this is how you do it: 1) Go and buy as much 60-day GTC as necessary. 2) Proceed to sell them in TC Bazaar or convert to PLEX and sell in-game. 3) Go to Character Bazaar and adquiere your high skilled character. ... 4) Profit!
That or either start a second account.

Good start, very good. The wall of text was a simple but always effective trick. However it becomes too obvious from the subquent answers. A good try, though.

Well then you also know why they dont make it possible to train several chars at the same time, so they earn more from you (yes ccp isnt charity).

You can train 3 chars on the same account. Just not at the same time. I can't see where this is different to other games.
You might argue you can play around the clock and thus still train up all three chars at a decent speed in other games. But hey, don't forget to eat, drink and sleep. Oh and also don't forget account sharing is prohibited just everywhere.
In other games training multiple characters is slower than concentrating on one no matter what. Somewhat of an exception may be the resting bonus stuff. Look at it this way: in Eve you can have multiple accounts and actually train multiple chars at the very same time, even when you're on vacation.

You, sir, are incorrect. It is you that seem to be unable to grasp 1 simple concept:
You can train more than 1 character on an account. Stop training one, and go train another. It's that simple. Just like in any other MMO where you have multiple characters. You have to log out and log in to the other character and play it instead. You cannot, in any way shape or form, train 2 characters on the same account at the same time in any MMO in existence. Why should CCP allow you to do so?
If you want to train two characters simultaneously, you need to do it the same way as in every other MMO: Get an alt account.

Training 2 characters at once on the same account is ******ed, but there is one thing that annoys me about the current system - you have to login whatever character a skill to pause it to train a skill on another character. Would be nice if you could force all skills on other characters to pause to train a skill, and then resume once the skill you want to train is complete.

CCP think it would be nice if you bought a second account which makes them money because they are a business which means they like money because they need money to keep making EVE. To that end CCP have made it so that you can only train one character per account and frequently offer price deals on second accounts to incentivize you to get a second account so they get twice the subscription revenue because as mentioned CCP are a business and they like the money. What you can do since the account creation changes is make use of the double time skill training bonus and the two attribute reassignments to rapidly skill up a new character during a short pause in training on your main character but that means that you need to a) have something in mind that doesn't need a lot of SP and b) be at a point on your main where you don't mind taking a training break so for example I used it to make a couple of hauler alts really quick which was a few days training so yes bottom line CCP want you to be paying for two accounts if you want two characters training at once.

I to would like to see the second character training option, but with limitations. 1. character can never be transfered from account. 2. character trains at a reduced speed

Ok, now that I can read it...
First I have to say, that I don't know of any cheaper MMO's aside from free ones or dieing ones, and there support and community's are much smaller and failing as we speak. The price for EvE is on par with every other MMO with close to the same quality.
Next thing to keep in mind, as it has been pointed out is you can't train more then one character at a time without a 2nd account on any other MMO's. Yes I will agree that EvE's time based training changes things a little, but its not such a huge change that it warrants CCP allowing you 2 free Pilots on the same account.
Something else to consider is the fact that unlike 95% of all other MMO's there is no class system, no set path that you "HAVE" to take in character progression. If you want to do industry today and combat in 5 to 6 months you can do that in EvE, and you don't have to roll a new character to do it.
Something you might not have thought of is to train your alts to the point were your happy with them then transferring them all to the same account, sure you will only be able to train one at a time again, but it will greatly reduce your costs IRL for the 2nd and 3rd account.
As far as allowing people to train multiple pilots on one account being good for CCP's bottom line, that's simply untrue, and silly, if they allow that, then they could lose as many as 2 alt accounts per person per account. that's an extra $30 a month.
If this went through next thing you or someone else like you would be asking for would be the ability to log onto the same account more then once to use more the one pilot per account.
I'm sorry but this wont happen any time soon. You wanted your logical, non-flaming reply, this is it, and its about as true as it gets. Support the DEAD HORSE POS's |

The additional 2 character slots were never meant to be full-fledged entities, rather mini-alts for the purpose of market checking/forums/high sec stuff when your main has crap sec status/etc.
