My two cent:
1. Run a draw now (1 titan) with the tickets you have.
2. Keep the same ticket pool from the first draw and keep the lotto open for people to keep buying tickets.
3. Set a min/max for the next draw. Example: 17000 - 20000 tickets and have a second draw.
4. For the last draw maybe add a few extra prizes to drum up extra support and when you reach 25500 - 30000 tickets you run the final draw.
---In doing this people still have the chance of winning 3 titan's as you conduct draw's in the certain increments people will maintain support and the last draw with the extra prizes could be like the finally. Like a fireworks display. :)
Unless I'm missing something this is common sense.

My idea: Have a portion of the next normal BIG lottery pay out as tickets to this lottery -- instead of offering X million for second and third place, offer X / 10 tickets to this lottery. It might not be a lot, but it wouldn't be terrible. Other than that, I think you'd have to refund the purchases.

this sounds like a good viable option...
only problem is that only the people that have tickets now actually have a shot at 3 titans... people who buyin later have an option of 2 or 1 titan(s)...
but that's not a problem if you mention this in the sales...
promotion is the big key in this... seeing the sales going slow is very bad for sales and with all the other lotteries, people will buy tickets in those since they are going faster...
i'd also lower the minimum nr of tickets for the drwas a bit, so the people get a feeling it's going faster...

I'd settle for 1 Titan and one or two smaller prizes (Dread/Carrier?) now rather than waiting months.
Anyone claiming that's unfair because they don't have a chance at winning 3 Titans is out of their mind.
1/30000 * 1/30000 * 1/30000 = 0; it's just not gonna happen. You're highly unlikely to win even one prize, never mind winning again and again. I feel safe to say, even though someone is gonna win a prize, it won't be you. (Now someone is gonna quote me on this and say I was wrong, but thousands could quote me and say I was right  )

heh Simple solution cut profits down to a reasonable size, I dunno bout the rest of you. But BIG is making more then 20billion isk off of each one of these things!! That is IF he bought them. Building them profit margin is even higher!!
Sorry but these lotteries are no diffrent from any other scam... You know the ones... You pay 100m isk for something that costs 50m is or so.

a good option is doing the draw now for 2 of the three titans...
this way everyone who has a ticket will be happy since there chances at a titan improved and they won't have to wait till christmas for the draw...
you'll have to maybe cut a small loss, but it's really good promotion for your name if you do it with a BIG announcement ;)
lesson learned and next time try something different, cause this didn't really work out...
with the generousity shown in this lottery(if you do the draw with 2 titans or give out some nice extra prices or something) people will buy tickets faster in your next one...

I think this can be easily remedied.
It is not just BIG that is feeling the pinch, with so many lotteries the market has been saturated.
Drawing 3 winners for isk prizes would be fair, and still a great prize.
Regarding the profit comment, there is alot of work involved in organising lotteries, I'm can't really comment for Torn, but for mine i was on the computer every second of the day for almost 3 weeks making sure everything was working, and doing all the admin.
Although the logistics of this lotto is probably less, his time should still be worth something and I would not begrudge him making some isk.

What isk prize ? I paid for a 3 titan lottery not some crappy isk lucky draw.
And time spend well don't try and pull something off if you don't have time for it.
And as for refunding the isk, that's just suicide cause nobody will buy another BIG lottery then.

Actual ticket amount takes estimated 6h 30min to refund. (Thats just boring copy paste action from a excel sheet into eves interface + pressing the necessary buttons including the initial creation of the excel sheet.)
Base asumption: Persons did not purchase several time. If some of them bought tickets over time, the time will be reduced. (the 2350 buyers might collaps to less)

tbh, i still want to stay at the chance to win 3 Titans with one Ticket, because that was it what made this lottery interesting. I don't really care how long it needs. I mean it's summer, thousands of eve players aren't not as much on as usual, so they don't even know this lottery exists.
I really don't want to see this lottery failing...
And tbh, 30.000 Tickets are a joke for so much Eve players. I really don't get why this Tickets are not all sold out...

well, 1 titan would only match 10k tickets, 2 titans would put you at a loss compared to just selling them, so maybe 1 titan + 2 MS? Still 3 prizes, and while it isn't 3 titans, the chance of winning something is much higher, and you shouldn't make a loss. Alternatively, 4 prizes, 1 titan, 1 mom, 1 dread and 1 carrier, would give you a profit rather then breaking even (at buy costs), and the even more increased chance to win makes up for there only being 2 supercaps.

It doesn't matter, with this speed the 30k tickets will be sold at next year, there is over 100 B ISK right now standing without any use. Draw one titan, pull the two others out.

Hmm, Took me about 5hours to double check wallet, refund and evemail all the failed ticket purchases for Ships of Eve #2 lottery, and that was less than 15bils worth of tickets. Although the wallet checking was most of this time as there were hundreds of pages to go though.

I paid for a 3 Titan Lotto and am willing to wait the distance. If people stopped trolling the forums and promoted the lotto in there bio maybe more tickets will be sold. I'm sure BIG is looking at all comments and will provide a solution. My 2 pennies

I'm cool with a single prize of one titan or the option to pay out 3 equal ISK prizes. You people expecting that all three Titans are still going to lotto are delusional. Its going to take months, possibly the remainder of the year before the auction sells enogh tickets to justify the costs incurred. Then you will never see another auction of a similar nature again.
If you can't be reasonable and seek a reasonable alternative (many of such in this thread) ask for a refund and move on. I'm willing to stay in as the payout is still lucrative compared to the cost of entry. I would just like to see some winnings before the end of the decade.
