Zarda Sulan Caldari	Posted - 2009.08.07 02:22:00 - [1] Ok so I invested loads of money into this game and patiently thought if I bide my time it will all come together. Now after training up 10 mill sp, learning to fly both caldari/min battleships and trained caldari hac's i thought i would be in for a chance to get into a decent active 0.0 corp that is involved in gang/fleet war's. But hell no- after tryiong 4 corps where most ppl where inactive or not bothered inviting you to go roaming with them or to busy mining i have come to the conclusion that corps are not interested in you if you cant mine for them or if you dont have like 30 mill sp. Its a shame the game has come to this but I wont be investing anymore money in a mmo where I cant get to play it in its proper form. I wish all the old school pilots the best of luck and hope you find new recruits somehow but for now its become a real finacial burden to put anymore moeny into this game. good luck and all the best for this game perhaps see you all in Aion or one of hteother new space mmo's due out soon. Cors It's A Trap	Posted - 2009.08.07 03:01:00 - [26] Most people take weeks, months, even YEARS to get into a corp they fit into. When looking for a corp look for ones that first, show on the map in 0.0(You don't have too, but it helps), second, have an active killboard(this shows that they actually PLAY, and pvp). Second, make sure they are active in YOUR timezone. They could be the most active people around, but if you are +5 GMT, and they are -5 GMT you'll have a hard time hooking up with them. Third, get on TS/VENT/EVE voice. Voice coms are what help you get to know everyone. And conversly, allow them to get to know you. Finding the right corp is hard. It takes time, effort, patience, and research.

And the solution is the same - do a good job and good corps will find you. Personally, I never set out to join Atlas alliance or any other big nullsec entity, I just did FW, got picked up by Microfunks, did a good job there, and ended up out here when we decided FW sucked and we didn't want to do it anymore. I got almost 30 million SPs but almost half of them are in industry.. from the sound of things the OP has more combat skills (SP-wise) than I do, but that really stops counting for much after you pick up the core fitting and gun skills. Anyway, I wish the op the best of luck wherever he goes. And, of course, can I have your stuff? :D

As for Skill point requirements, I too had issues with those in the early days, but honestly, you can get around this by specializing in something like Interceptor and learning how to do directional scans to get people in belts. The problem seems to be more not having done the proper research for your corp. Also, it's not rare for the first few corps to be a fail-fit. So if that's the case, move on to another. The 10m SP is a non issue. Either you can fly at least one ship the corp needs or you cant. Usually the SP requirements are an expectation of being able to fly some ship or another. This is what you need to consider before joining a corp, and after joining to make sure everything goes as advertised. 1. Time zone compatibility. If you join and no one is on when you are, then consider leaving. 2. Goal compatibility. You might be very aggressive then find out the corp has a defensive mindset. 3. Ship compatibility. Will they let you fly the ships you want to fly or do they tell you to stay out of their fleets until you fly something more useful? 4. Everything else. If your corps suck, then you might want to reconsider your search criteria. -- Nobody expects the Amarr Inquisition!

FFS man up and keep trying as there will be one out there just for you though you might have to join SA to get to them. And why are you getting so hostile? It's not even like you've trained any support skills either that are necessary to be good in battleships or hacs if you've spent a good 30%-40% of your SP on ship skills... who would want you to come on roams you'd be a friggin liability. Can I have your stuff?

The game is really the people you play it with, but you cant expect to change the way other are playing a game then spit your dummy out when they don't. Find a fun group of people who like doing the same as you do, if there are no people in game that like to do what you do then I guess you may as well quit, but I think if you look a little harder you will be OK.
