The idea of an EVE FPS has excited me for a while now, but it's absolutely infuriating that CCP has decided to release this game solely on consoles. Quite frankly, it's a slap in the face to the current EVE community (since we're all on PC's to begin with).
Please, sign this petition if you'd like this game to eventually be released for the PC too. Apparently, porting a 360 game to the PC is not too intensive and completely possible, so it shouldn't be too much trouble. Besides, what happens to this new game when the next gen of consoles comes around and the 360 is left in the dust (lol, pun)?

Console only FPS is just not a good idea. Sure design it in a way that keeps it usable for consoles, but allow those of us with some class to play the shooter the way shooters are meant to be played!

In all seriousness, I don't want it for the PC.
Having it for the PC will segregate EVE's user base.
Having it on consoles with be an entirely new user base, whos fate just happens to be tied into ours. This excites me.

I think it's a bit early to upset about this, a pc version has been hinted at I beleive.
It's possible that MS/Sony are only allowing CCP to release this on their platforms if it's console-only for a period of time.
It's also possible that it will be incorporated into the EVE client on the PC, rather than be released as a stand-alone. CCP won't need to charge extra: if you need to use one of your alt slots to create a Dust character, CCP will probably make a fair bit of money from EVE players purchasing additional user accounts to create Dust characters.

Edited by: Sable Blitzmann on 18/08/2009 22:25:10 Eros: I disagree. I'm sure a lot of people that play EVE get sick of it now and again (like every other game) and just want to play something else. I, for one, would love the opportunity to play in twitch-based combat, all the while knowing I'm doing something for the EVE universe (as opposed to booting up UT3, TF2, or L4D). If one doesn't want to split their time, one doesn't need to buy the new game. =) But I think it's fair that the PC audience get in on the action.
Sappho: That may be true; I certainly hope their considering a PC version of some kind, either tied in with the original game client or a stand-alone game. However, the point of this petition is to show them that we really, really want a PC version, and that they should do more than just 'consider' or 'hint' it.
Rubico: Why NOT SIGNED? I feel sad.

incorporate it into the eve client. that way it wont be segregated. i mean you can still talk with your buddies while in worm space, you can easily talk with them while they are running around on the planet.

As somebody with more than 600 hours of TF2 on PC, I wholeheartedly think this is necessary. I don't to contard' out and buy a 360 to play more eve-related games. -----------

Edited by: Commander Aeris on 18/08/2009 22:32:06 I do hope that the release of DUST 514 on the console will eliminate part of the twitch shooting that the PC FPS is dreaded(IMO) for? Since EVE is about strategy and planning, so I hope that releasing it for the consoles will result in a more tactical game.

No point.
If they port the game it will suck as all ports suck.
If you get 100% of eve players to sign this it will not matter.

It shouldnt seggregate the eve community, only give it more ways to play the game. If DUST is released on pc then I for one would buy it and play both.

Edited by: Captain Greeneyes on 18/08/2009 22:38:30 Miner: So you're saying that is should stay on the 360? How about when the 360 goes away like every console does? The DUST project will have to cease, or be ported to the PC anyway to keep it going.
Keep up the signage everyone!
EDIT: Dammit, I really need to set my default char.

Sincere question coming. Eve takes a substantial amount of time and most of us seem to be responsible adults. If DUST was to hit the PC and it may as you never know for sure really. How many would have time to play both? I wouldnt and have no interest in a fps anyways but even if I did I would have to make a choice.

Although, I could see them potentially integrating this into EVE proper with allowing us to land on planets :D
Although that would make this thing really bloated and massive.

I think/hope CCP still have something up their sleeves regarding a PC version of Dust. If not, I will consider myself thoroughly slapped in the face.
