Upgrades go wrong sometimes, and I'm sure there would be a lot more crying if they pushed it out with whatever issues they are currently fixing.

If you don't make yourself a picture of what awaits you before paying for a year it really is your fault. Also at first login you have to read and accept the EULA. Especially point 12 should've prevented any discussion about reimbursements. Neither CCP nor the very most part of players care if someone leaves. Just move on to some other game if you don't like EVE - silently. You'd lose your 1 year subscription fee? See first sentence. However in my opinion you'll miss a great adventure. You just need to get aware that you pay for being able to participate in the game. They grant you rights for your payment. You don't buy shares or something.

People actually help you by suggesting you leave and do something else with your time. They also helped you by making you aware that your ranting will serve you no good. If you had used your time for some reading before posting you'd have come to that conclusion earlier. About that intelligence thing - are you going even lower now and actually start insulting people? I bet they'll like you for it and kindly offer further help. You had it coming from the very first post and yet still didn't learn anything.

They could have just made us wait until winter or whenever the full upgrade it due and no one would have left. That's not to say people wouldn't cry like you stole their favorite toy but they wouldn't leave.

You have not been lied to. CCP posted when they assumed the server would be up assuming everything went smoothly. Well, guess what? It didn't go smoothly, and there's nothing they could have done to get it out at 12:00 GMT once the problems revealed themselves. -----

Hell, I remember back when I played WoW in 2004 the game would be unplayable for days after a big patch. MMO patch days always suck. The companies aren't penalized for it because everyone expects it.
