The new warp effect is absolutely terrible, PLEASE remove it!! Make it possible to switch it off, do anything that makes it disappear instantly and forever, and make it SOON!! The new warp effect creates migraine in less than 2 seconds. It's undescribably annoying to have to minimize the game or place other windows on top of the game to cover that miserable thing. This is no small problem, it's so urgent that a new patch should be made yesterday and released 2 days ago, unless there is already some way to 100% remove the new warp effect. It seems made specially with the intent to cause epileptic seizure and migraine, and to make people stop playing the game. The new warp effect is the worst possible, it must be removed COMPLETELY and INSTANTLY. No if or but, just REMOVE IT, urgently! It's not fun to play a game that creates instant illness, it's reason enough to stop playing the game if that warp effect isn't removed VERY VERY soon.

Edited by: Kva Plexcha on 21/08/2009 22:43:32 Dont know if its just me, but do the probing graphics not resemble the pre Apoc spheres, just with more intersecting lines? It kinda feels like the probing graphics were rolled back a few patches and slightly revamped ... not that this is a bad thing visually as I really liked the old probe spheres and these are well done also. Just the lines that rotate when running a scan with 4 probes are essentially impossible to watch
Can you scale the intersecting probe lines that appear to half their brightness? They are still bright enough when they are faded, use this brightness for the interacting, and half it for the fade (and during active scan).
One other reason I feel there is a possible "rollback" here is a bug that I used to get has returned. There are now 2 dots when three probes intersect (\o/) But I was able to track down 2 sigs to a bookmarkable 100%, and not be able to warp to these books (although the option was presented). With my experience, both sigs seemed to get to 100% one scan before they normally would, and I guess this is what happened, as I rescanned the bookmarks to 100% again using one smaller range, and was able to warp to the sig. This happen to anyone else? ... I am sure this happened to me either right when Apoc was introduced, or the version before.
Overall the scanning now is somewhat improved, but personally, less in this case ( the intersecting and spinning lines would be much better. I was also able to log in 3 clients during the day of Que infamy, all for short periods of time withuot any problems, but I also wasnt on very long.
As far as the scan delay goes, I also support the idea of greying the button until available, this makes the most sense. I dont think the pirates realize that this may make more people come to lowsec thinking they are safer, and the pirates will then have more targets. I already PVE in lowsec extensively, so its good for me I guess.

Thoughts on this patch:
Small and medium Rigs Good will widen game
Fuel Bays: Good for black ops - needed
Poor for dreads - Effectively lose fuel space as can no longer use GSC's to spread out stront etc. Also ammo ammounts for cargo holds seem to vary greatly - IMHO dreads with Jump drive calib and conservation at 4 (the standard really to properly use dreads) should be able to jump twice and then have enough stront for 5 (minimum) siege cycles then jump twice back (targets are not always within one jump range). and the ammo able to be carried should be calculated on this minimum with 2 different (long and short range) types.
Terrible for carriers Carriers (by far the cheapest and most used capital) are further nerfed by ccp who seem to hate carriers (wonder why they introduced them in the first place). Yes Jump frieghters and Rorquals should be able to carry more - they are more specialised. A ship designed for utility and fitting out in space that cannot carry a module change for itself never mind others is stupid. It now has a fuel bay much smaller than a dread although ccp say they want it to be used for logistics but won't allow it to carry enough stront to use triage effectively. Carriers should have enough fuels to do the same as dreads listed above. Enough fuel for 2 max range jumps out and back (with Jump drive conservation and calib at 4) and 5 triage cycles worth of stront. As they are expected to refit ships etc they should have enough cargo space to carry their own mods without using their corp hangar arrays which is supposed to be there to allow others to fit out their ships. Rorquals and Jump freighters are great but very expensive and beyond the reach of most normal players.
The end for moms This patch further contributes to the demise of motherships as they cannot dock yet now cannot carry and fit out mods for themselves and their already poor jump range is further hampered by small fuel bays. Why would anyone now pay 15bil + fitting for one when they are effectively stuck and tied even more to their corp pos ship maint and hangar arrays.
Faction warfare rewards About time
Overall for me this is a major fail patch as I spent the last few months training and saving for a carrier and dread. Yes smaller rigs will help but that is not balanced by the capital nerfs. Yes I know people get vocal regarding cap ship nerfs - the reason is usually because they spend months (sometimes years) training and saving for them and then CCP take away their hope. I have had characters training for carriers since before the haulers with gsc's full of mods in their cargo nerf, I put it off following that now finally getting round to it again and this comes round. Yes carriers should be more combat focussed - but I seem to remember CCP nerfed that too saying they should be more logistically used. Basically does anyone at CCP making these decisions actually play this game and use these ships outside the test server with devs having unlimited skills and resources.

Easily the best thing someone has mentioned here is that the fitting window needs some on it that shows what size rigs that ships takes, just for ease of access. I know you can already find this info by going to the ship info and clicking the fitting tab, but this would be a nice extra.
**** letting people remove rigs. Not because of the isk lost (can see why people are ****ed) but because rigs can't be removed. It tells you when they're installed that it's a permanent thing.
Oh, and the directional scanner button grey out when you can't use it. That's a very simple design principle guys, and definitely bring it in.
Also, made up my new rigs last night, and after a single lv4 mission I've got enough salvage to make a couple more medium rigs up! I think you're about to get a lot more casual rig makers out of mission runners for the next month or so (not sure if they'll stay on after the prices all correct themselves)
New pod looks like a sperm. That is all.

Edited by: EveFairy0 on 22/08/2009 08:25:30 Really wish you didn't do all the new rig bp's. Now I'm stuck with bunch of T2 rig bpc's from plexes and invention that are large and don't fit into BS/cap sized ships. (Ofc the same applies to existing t1 bpos. Who needs large gravity upgrades?)
Same BP for all the different sizes please.
Edit: the new probing graphics are a nice welcome, thanks

Pretty much every big ship could and should use grav rigs, but since they are so utterly imbalanced with a calibration cost of 200/300 no one who's in his right mind would fit them. There were a lot of things that should have been changed how rigs work, but multiple size rigs wasn't one of them.
I wonder if they ever balance rigs, like introduce a penalty to CCCs, or buff offensive rigs which are inferior to everything that has to do with our tanks. Sig removed. Needs more EVE related content. Zymurgist |

. Fuel / Ore Bays û good
. Cargo Capacity nerf on Capitals û bad. EVE is all about balanced flexibility, yet you are making these expensive to buy and time consuming to train for ships very limited in use. Disappointing /annoying. An untanked capital configured for carrying cargo dies very quickly when caught. That is balancing enough.
. Small and medium sized rigs û brilliant, but I suspect will bring in balance issues.
. Speed û good, a number of areas which are noticeably snappier
. Directional Scanner û so so. I can understand the reason for the 2 second delay, but it has quite an impact. For starters, can the limitation be turned off if you happen to be in warp?
. Scan probes û initial impressions are that it is easier to use, and the annoying miss clicks (where probes are resized instead of moved etc) are less frequent.
. I like the new warp effects.

Scanning spheres work much better. Now I can see where the damn probe is
On the other hand you really screwed by making each probe show the same sig in a different spot, now I have to waste even more scan cycles figuring out where the damn sig actually is... like it wasn't a time sync before...

I can take or leave the blue rings, but what I was bothered about was the paralysis that hit when scanning or recalling probes. Much better, and it's nice to have a less busy probe area graphic.

A Few Thoughts on the new patch:
The way the new rigs were released has upset several people, even causing some of them with strong encouragement otherwise to give up on eve... I know some guys who were not prepared for the new rigs, they had large numbers of the old rigs, that will effectively be useless on BS and larger class ships now...
Solution: Suggest the release of a clear way to reprocess rigs... perhaps along the same lines as the rig fixing that has been discussed.
Also the overlap circles that now occur when probing... It would be nice if they weren't there. I have spend many hour probing, and while probing in general seems smoother, these circles just get in the way of seeing what I am doing.
Solution: Have an option to disable them, just like the many other effects in the game.
Thanks for your time.

Clear way like the reprocessing plant? You have always been able to reprocess unused rigs for salvage components.

I don't know if I should post this in Feedback or not, but here it goes.
I've been playing Eve for about a year or more now, maybe two. So I've been warping around lately and I have been paying more attention to the new warp effect. Well, because of this new I've been getting slight motion sickness when warping and as far as I am aware I have never been motion sick from anything else.
I just thought that I should bring this to your attention. Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels. Zymurgist |

I quite like the changes made to exploration interface. - the probe location cube is easier to manipulate cause its no longer disappearing in the probe coverage sphere graphic -The color choice of the the probe coverage sphere is good, agree with others who find it reminiscent of the pre apocrypha scan sphere graphic -Recalling probes no longer causes the client to lag \0/
overall impression is really positive, well worth the wait. Nice work all round

Edited by: PYROnoxx on 23/08/2009 15:22:56 Onboard scanner is a right waste of time now, by the time you get something pinned to a belt etc the are gone. This imo needs to be changed back to its original state of no delay. Its making the game unplayable for solo people do do their own thing. I know ccp is trying to push everyone towards blob warfare but there's tons of us out there that prefer solo work.
Conclusion: Makes game unplayable for solo pvp players / scouts
Please fix this wer'e not all about the blob you know.

A few feedback points-
1. My sound bugs related to Map use are all fixed. Thanks!
2. The new Nosferatu graphic is AWESOME.
3. The new Warp graphic gives me vertigo.. it looks cool but it is messing with my head. >,<
4. Turret sounds seem somewhat improved but I still drop them. (Please turn DOWN the shield hardener sound also. <3 )
5. Market speed improvements are VERY noticeable to me. GREAT job. But what still bothers me is that when the IGB is "busy", it locks the entire client. So, even though the market loading delay is so much better in 1.5, still, for those 1 or 2 seconds, the whole client locks up, no animation, etc. I think you need to thread this somehow so that the entire rendering engine isn't brought to a halt just because the browser is loading data.
6. Small rigs seem pricey.

About factional warfare:
1. Mission rewards need increase, maybe not LP-wise, but certainly ISK wise. Think about how much riskier it is to run a militia mission than a high sec or even traditional lo sec mission. If I want to find a "quiet" 0.2 hub I can do that. There are no "quiet" systems in militia, and more to the point, the missions force you to travel across many systems. Nowhere will you have a greater risk of ship loss. I suggest ISK payout 2 to 4x its current value if you really want to see people view militia missions as viable.
And I wish they would because then we'd have tons of mission complexes open for small, fair fights, which is what the new EVE player NEEDS.
2. The only reward for increasing my Rank is that I become a more attractive target to my enemies? That sounds backwards.. punishing someone for progressing.
3. System control needs to mean something if you want people to care more about the plexes. Maybe missions pay more or limited resource fields spawn as you control more systems.
4. UI - you need to give people easy tools to see, at a glance, what the control status of each system looks like and where they should focus their efforts, or where they are likely to find the action.
No great scoundrel is ever uninteresting. |

My opinions on the parts that effect my play:
Ore Bay. Very good. Allows Corp Orca to remain on station longer.
Sized Rigs. Nice, will be much more cost effective to rig the smaller ships.
Level 4 Epic Mission Arcs. Living in Gallente space means I will reserve any comment until after i have had the chance to run it.

The new warp tunnel effect is awesome, ten million times better than the watery mess we had before. Now I just wish it didn't fade in/out so slowly at the beginning/end of warp, just so I could enjoy it longer.
The new probing effects are OK, nice to see the "two hits but only one dot" bug fixed. The probe sphere intersection lines are a bit confusing to follow as probes are dragged around, but I guess I'll get used to it.

I like the sized rigs and reduced price idea and all, but directional scanner delay is bordering catastrophic.
When scanning belts or whatever other objects, I need less time to focus view on next object than delay lasts. It results in that silly delay message being displayed non stop making it impossible to know if the last scan was done or not at all. I tried to roam just now, gave up after 5 jumps. I'd go so far to say that the game is unplayable for me as it stands.
I understand lag needs to be dealt with and all that, but this is a serious change for the worse.

Maybe the fact that im playing with High settings for the first time (lol at thinking performance would be better lower settings)
Thanks CCP!
the small niggles like that scanner 2sec thingie, and the ray of light aka sensor booster, annoyances i'll live with.

Fab. Honestly.
Lag in market seems much less. Lag from S & I is much reduced too.
New rigs are handy, though some of them are incredibly useless/daft...
The Small Sentry Damage Augmentor for one... I doubt there will be many takers...
- I understand that the rigs themselves will be changed in future as per people's suggestions in the Rig ideas thread. Please confirm this CCP.
Been a little while since I've played, had my comp upgraded with a new graphics card and I'm so glad I did. The new graphic effects are lush. Tractor beams - WOW... NOS effect, AMAZING.. Salvaging looks cool, hardener effects, shield boosting is truly gorgeous...
I even like the new jumping and warping sounds...
Epic arcs seem a lot more fun than normal missions. Liking the fact they dont expire meaning I can take my time.
Even Bellum made a positive comment - you can all retire happy!
