The original Cylons were lizards who built robots to do their fighting, but the robots got too good at their work and destroyed their creators, whom they viewed as inferior, and then turned their sights on the humans, who are also inferior in their eyes.

The first episode of the series however, made the persuit by the Cylons feel utterly relentless - you could really feel that everyone and everything was being stretched to it's limit. I enjoyed that one hour much more than the preceding four...
I was expecting this to be just another gung ho 'Americans in space' no-brainer. In reality, it actually seems like it's going to be worth watching!

I have no idea what this is. Here's what I know from this thread it used to be a hit scifi show a long time ago. They are now starting it again. If I watch it will I be lost at sea because I didn't see the originals?

I missed the first episode of the mini series, but the 2nd one and the 1st one of the main series was alright, thing is I dont think the computer generated stuff is that good, like they use the "combat landing" scene twice, I know it saves them alot of work, but its abit shoddy. Anyway I prefer the new Stargate myself

I watched it last night, without even knowing what it was. Was quite impressed by its quality, the space battle scenes are simply gorgeous. The way the humans manouever their little fighter ships makes me  when I think of Eve's physics/flight model.
Stargate Atlantis is decent too. Its available by... ummm... certain methods of downloading that may not be entirely legal, if its not airing in your country. Along with every other TV show imaginable, including the new Galatica

Yeah really good program, the only problem I found is with the adverts being every 15 mins!!! i.e. the program starts grt abit of a intro then credits and the bit of program then bloody adverts, and they always seem to be for that HEX on skyone!!! |

it doesn't matter what pogram you watch, there are always adverts every 15-20 minutes :/ trying to brainwash us into buying some crap console game or watch some other cheesy series they started.  I wish they'd remove half the sh!te channels on sky and just give us a few decent ones with no ad's :D

i watched the original galactica as a teenager and loved it at the time, although doubtless i would find it to be sh1te if i watched it now.
i was very impressed with this new one. the characterisations were more complex, and the general air of the show i thought was quite dark. i havent seen the new show yet but i have 'obtained' a copy of the 3 hour 2 part show. The best scifi TV thing i've seen. |
