Quote: if I'm not mistaken there are two Apollo's, one on the Galactica and another running around 'stranded' on Caprica with the second Boomer
I think you're mistaken - That 'aint Apollo stranded on Caprica, it's this guy. They do look pretty similar though!

I think I've realised where the minmatar came from. They're the last of the survivors from the 12 colonies!
If this isn't a minmatar station................
Minmatar or Colonial?

Edited by: Valisk on 27/10/2004 14:12:42 I had similar worries, but...
All the characters have changed beyond recognition compared to the original. Starbuck (and Boomer) as a woman actually works in the new context.

I've been watching this through *ahem* less than legit sources (good cos they cut out the ads ), and I can definatly say it has a lot of potential. I was a big fan of the first BSG and I am really looking forward to where they take this one. I especialy liked the whole water issue from the latest ep.
In the first one they stopped many times at planets that just so happened to have human (and sometimes non human) colonys on them, but this time around it seams the galaxy is a barren and desolate place where they really are going to have to become self sufficent (mining roids for minerals to make ammo and water etc..).
Also if they EVER bring in that robotic piece of excrement "muffy" im betting the show will fail. "Death Before Dishonor" |

they're a bunch of bloody carebears :) and the cylons were surely exploiting to attack the 1.0 colonies...then there was the episode where they were warping from safespot to safespot using instawarps...

boomÀer
1. Informal. A nuclear submarine armed with ballistic missiles. 2. Informal. A baby boomer. 3. A transient worker, especially in bridge construction. 4. Australian. A large, fully grown male kangaroo.
i'd imagine the 'nickname' comes from no.1 on the list...

Edited by: 0seeker0 on 29/10/2004 14:51:50 I just started watching it, and i have to write that i am absolutely furious at what they have done to it. It starts off with a woman dominating a man, and so goes the theme right up untill when i finally stopped it.
i have seen this theme in recent films, and recent programs. I have ignored it. everybody needs a niche, and some woman probably like it. But now they reach back into our past, into the great, boys own, space movie of the 80's, and bastardise it beyond belief.
Femenism and liberalism is the greatest ill of our age. I used to support america but now i see what is going to happen. America bombs iraqs citizens mercilessly, while all the time at home the election is fought on who can tell the biggiest lie. The american citizenry, being controlled by their lightweight media, almost knows no better (i choose to believe they know no better. its the better of two ills) and destructive social policies are fed to us through every means possible. The news, the education system, new films, and, now, old films re-written. have you read 1984? do so. Especially if you are american. And learn about **** cheney and donald rumsfelds past. History is your protector, understand it!
We are not allowed to broadcast the great, true film account "dam busters" in britain without it being changed, as the commanding officers dog was a black staffordshire bull terrier called ******, and this is deemed offensive. The supposed liberals destroy every politician who does not hold thier views (im thinking EU commision here) and now one of my favourite Movies is changed almost beyond recognition.
Regards, San.
(edited to take out the bits that had nothing to do with battlestar gallactica at the end, that could have offended people who did what they did with the best of intentions. I shouldnt have written that, and am sorry for doing so) Character "Widescreen" is a scammer; beware.

I am torn inbeetween apologising to those that i may have offended, inbweetween re-writing it to be more in tune with peoples sensibilities, or going to make another brew and saying to hell with it.
Still am, infact.
