both of my accounts were hacked, one was banned pending investigation. i have sent several e-mails over the past few days and have petitioned both accounts. could i please get some sort of ****ing reply, even if it is just "we are swamped and will get to you in a few hours/days/weeks/months" ??
love this game but if this is how you treat ppl who have been paying you for 3-4 years then maybe i need to find a game with staff that gives a sh*t about its loyal customers

did it really not suprise you that their site was the one hosting the flash player? I mean, seriously. Nobody buy adobe hosts flash player updates. itd be like www.imascam.com hosting eve-online patches >.>

Sorry but the GMs will not respond on the forums. That is why we have petitions  and they will get back to you as soon as they can.

dont think there is a question of whether or not i was stupid for clicking the link AND THEN 'updating' my flashplayer. and i dont think anyone else who has will argue that either.

Judgeing by the frequent "I got hacked" threads, a LOT of people klick those links. Solving hacking issues takes quite some time (reversing transactions, etc). And the guys doing forum moderation have nothing to do with those dealing with your petition so they just won't know how long it will take for your petition to be resolved.
Unfortunatelly, you're bound to have some more patience.

i am the one to blame for my problem, so yes my petitions, were at worst, neutral. it's just frustrating when you keep trying to tell them and you aren't sure if they have heard you or not and if they are planing on helping you or if they are going to leave you to your own devices.

Imagine trying to do stuck petitions.. I had a stuck contract the other day. Nothing wrong on my end, it was server side issues. The gm told me (in beautiful copy paste) to.. Relog. Clear cache. reset settings.. THEN he finally was like "oh lemme look at the problem".

In WOW it sometimes took several weeks to sort out. CCP is not alone in that regard. I do not know the technical details but I suspect due to the potentially criminal nature of what happened they have to be very thorough. I suspect there are a lot of false reports for a start (scammers) or even the hackers themselves doing it to clog the system
Having said that an auto reply that they have received the petition etc would be good.

I suspect if GM's took the time to say "we are looking into it, we will get back to you" every few days, then we'd see a whole bunch of "WHY DO THE GM'S WASTE TIME WITH USELESS RESPONSES?!?!" threads.

At this moment hack petitions seem to have around 3 .. 3.5 weeks lifespan. They will get back to you ofc, just takes time. I think there is some automatic script closing petitions at 2 week mark or something like that. It sure will **** you off (it has so far done that to everybody I know who have been subject to that hacking drama). Try to not send mail every day. If it can't be helped then perhaps limit yourself to a mail per week or so. As when they get around to it several different GM's will start answering your mails with few hour intervals meaning that if you spam a lot it will make people wait longer for response on average.
Just keep an keen eye on your char to make sure he does not log in while he is supposed to be banned. If he does petition it again bcos they propably must have relased the account to wrong guy altho this is unlikley as questions they ask are relatively hard to quess unless it's somekind of your personal stalker going thru the thrash you throw away and breathing heavily under your window during nights.

While I thought I was smart and didn't get chumped by those "wii sexy toy" links.. I apparently failed the "internet smarts" test when using utorrent for other stuff, and got either a keylogger or a trojan of some form. yay, accounts hacked. this was on 13 Aug. I just, today, got my accounts back. So just shy of 3 weeks is your average timeframe, as long as you really did get stolen from.. and you didn't do so while RMT'ing and stuff.

Learn to use computers and not click stupid links? Some people have tested these keylogger sites, and you seriously have to bypass something in the number of 4-5 "DON'T DO THIS!" warnings in your head to get one.

It's your own fault that you pressed that sexy satelite linky and your accounts got hacked, and now you're demanding a response from CCP aswell!
Give them a break will ya. They're already working very hard for all those stupid people who clicked the links and their accounts got hacked.

Banning accounts in the process of reversing hacker damage is normal.
However it can take with the massive swamp of them sadly a week or two (and hopefully not more) to sort it out.

GMs won't respond but DEVs will. Simply coz GMs are busy coding DUST514 while Devs play EVE/forum
