hi guys cat here
i was wondering earlier if ratting is overpowered. the reason i think it might be is that one of the students of my pirate rehabilitation service is currently making more isks than i can even dream of!
my student is in a dark 0.0 area where there are hardly even any people he says, so he can just rat to his hearts content with no worries! i hear it is like one millions of isk per battleship - think how many defencemobiles that could buy lol

Odd that the best place to gain CONCORD standing is a place CONCORD refuse to have anything to do with, and neither do you lose CONCORD standing there.
I'm sure some lore puppet will be along shortly to explain it.

Hi Cat,
The money is reasonable but lets face it, shooting NPC spaceships that don't fight back (well they do, but not so you'd notice) gets old very quickly.

You should try FW and it's profits .. getting over 5bil a day from FW is kinda .. nice

You can make more doing L4 missions than ratting 0.0. Though I've heard of people making even more in WH space.

you CAN also make more scamming in jita local than trading
if you are a really bad trader and a very good scammer..

one thing i did wonder actually is that ratting is the only way to increase sex status - which should be a punishment for doing crimes against innocent traveleers. its not very much punishment if the pirate lines his filthy pockets is it lol???

Ratting is fun in short bursts, but not very entertaining if it is your main source of income.

Excluding Officer spawns.... Lvl 4's > then 0.0 ratting. The only real reason for this is becouse of the looting and salvaging. Unless you have someone buying your loot and salvage at good prices in 0.0. It costs money and time to haul back to empire which lowers your income.

Do call it whatever you like but thats truth. Latest FW "expansion" or "boost pack" caused some very undesired side effects.

5 bil a day isn't possible with regular game play. You must be abusing a game weakness. Expect the ban stick anytime soon.

i will say wormhole space is now less varied with the nerf to cross sec status wormholes and more of the same wormholes leading back to a smaller pool of possible wormhole exits ( same wh leading back to the same system every 2-3 days) its like ccp has narrowed down the randomness leading to more high sec - w- high sec stuff
ANd the rats are smaller to. So yeah wormhole space unless u start in 00 space is getting dodgier as ccp dumb em down

depends.. specially on how busy the 0.0 you live in is. VEry busy regions give very low "belts per player ratio". While level 4 maisn attractiveness ( contrary to traditional legend.. is not safety sicne 0.0 is as safe as empire) is the constant available status of the isk income and does not matter how many others are playing eve.

No the reason for such a pay out is to support 0.0 PvP.
Yes you can earn all kinds of ISK if all you do is RAT.
But the vast majority go out and RAT a few hours to get another ship so they can go PvP again after they got the last one blown up.

What is it with people in this game thinking that something is overpowered just because it does a little more then something else?
Cat, you've played long enough that you should KNOW that there is always going to be SOMETHING that is better then something else. Otherwise everything would be equal.
Ratting is good isk. But it's also expensive. It costs a lot of ISK to get out to deep 0.0. It's expensive to get ammo/ships out there.
It's also dangerous.
If Ratting in 0.0 is SO much better, then why are not all the 0.0 systems full of ratters.
