I was overjoyed to hear of new faction ships being released. And then the bombshell dropped. They are changing the firetail's speed bonus for a tracking bonus
I dont' understand, the firetail is IMO the most awesome of all faction frigates, just mis-understood and badly fitted 99% of the time. If you don't believe me look at this guy's awesome fit:

I have tried and tested that fit and found it to be superb.
Now what CCP have decided to do is take away the very essence of what makes the firetail the firetail (a truly matari ship) and give it a 7.5% per level tracking bonus. 
This not only destroys a fantastic ship but it also renders the dramiel even more utterly obsolete as it was before. 
The dramiel: A truly beatiful faction ship, with a 7.5% per level tracking bonus. However it suffers from mismatched bonuses and high slots (only 2 turrets and *3* launcher slots), inadequate powergrid and CPU, and an inadequate number of medium and/or low slots. Much like a supermodel, its lovely to look at, but otherwise utterly useless.
So CCP are:
1)Breaking a ship that I feel represents the matari fighting style more than any other
2)Ignoring a ship which so obviously doesn't work
3)Giving us another ship with the same old bonus (minmatar should never have generic predictable ships -that's for caldari)
4)Rendering even more completely obsolete something which is a true work of art (I bet the graphic designer who made the dramiel so beautiful has nightmares about this)
This post is a call to arms! Please everybody who can, get behind me on this. It is only through force of numbers that we can save the firetail and bring the dramiel to life!
I have never disagreed with any of CCP's descisions whether I think them good or bad (mostly good BTW). But this feels like someone has urinated on my grandaddy's grave and stole my lollipop at the same time.
Please, please, please show your support! If you're feeling lazy just put an "X" here to show you agree.
Together we can make New Eden a better place!

they are switching the speed bonus for a dmg bonus.
the main problem is all the other empire faction ships got a way higher and free boost to the base speed. in the past (well now tbh) the firetail would have had a big advantage over the others even w/o the bonus to speed now its just 20ms faster than the amarr thing.

1) yeah my bad, speed for damage, tracking bonus is already there. But that doesn't change anything really. Infact it's worse!
2) They are changing all the other faction ships for the better, but changing the firetail for the worse. (It will become dull, generic and utterly crap when compared to every single one of the other faction frigates)
3) Firetail never had any real advantage over the other faction frigs, they just filled different roles. Every single other faction frigate has more slots and way better DPS. And since when did any amarr ship beat the minmatar equivelant for speed? It's not what you guys do, you have massive DPS and solid tanks. The only advantage minmatar have over anything else is speed, which was nerfed!
To mare, I appreciate your willingness to discuss. And I won't discourage anyone else from doing so. But what I'd really like to see is those "X"s and people who agree with me

Let's fight for what we know is right!
 Save our firetail! Give us a dramiel worth flying!

ccp did give it a +15% base speed increase though.

that "awesome" fit is an afterburner failure. I would engage it anywhere, any time :P
Granted 1800m/s is repectable and faster then most cruisers, but it would still pop to a competent PVPer :).

1) Indeed it does have a +15% base speed increase, giving it a base speed over 100m/s slower than it currently has (with navigation and minmatar frigate lvl 5).
2) They're turning all the faction frigates into the same generic formula. Notice they all have 10 slots? Except firetail has no other advantages, unlike the other faction frigates as listed below.
a)The comet has drones and a better capacitor, with otherwise very similar characteristics. This ship is the one which best illustrates my point as it is the roughly the same, but with an added massive advantage.
b)The hookbill has awesome shield and all three highs are launcher slots (which have the damage and velocity bonus)
c)The slicer has a mighty armour tanking potential and a range bonus to keep it out of trouble, it also has a better capacitor.
3) I hadn't seen the faction ship overhaul thread, even though I had done a search for it. I will post a link from there to this thread. And I really don't think whether or not I "really care" is in question here.
The more I look at this the more disgusted and cheated I feel. Every peice of information I gather seems to add momentum to this argument.
Brothers and sisters we must unite against a common enemy. CCP stated that they are changing faction ships to "better fit their roles". They appear to think the firetail's role is as a useless waste of money, outclassed by all of the other faction frigates. I for one will not rest until they see the error of their ways, but I need your help.
Please put an "X" here, or any information you feel would help the cause, before it is too late!

Although I'm strongly compelled to reply with the myriad reasons I disagree with your statements, and some fiery insults, I will not indulge you with a reply. This is completely irrelevant to the subject of this thread.
