Not a love story but... I remember when I left EVE - my Son used to play with me, and we were "working on" getting my ex-wife to play... we already did play together another game (Ultima Online).

I think we're all more interested in knowing if there was any ganking or ransoming in the bedroom. (And was the ransom paid?)

If there was ganking and ransoming, I don't think they paid the ransom, since they probably already knew it wasn't going to be honoured.

Edited by: Kibbler on 23/09/2009 19:54:20 My girlfriend plays EVE, but only really enjoys flying the Falcon.
Something about being able to control people and tell them when they can and can't fight. I had to describe it as 'Imagine you see me fighting a guy, but I'm way down the street. Using ECM is just like yelling 'HEY STOP!', and they will listen to you. And I can continue to pummel them and steal his things.'
The trick is to relate it to real life and give the women power. :D
EDIT: Yeah, a bit off the main topic.. but relevant enough. ;o

I've had an instance in past where I developed strong feelings for somebody I met online in one of the corps I have been in. But as most online relationships go, these were really just feelings for an idealized version of the person. Without meeting and getting to know each other in real life you really don't have the full picture of who that person is, hence you cannot claim you love them but only the personality that they have chosen to show display to you online.
Both this guy and myself were in relationships already and it has gotten to a point where I felt it would be more prudent to leave the corp rather than let this go anywhere further. So one day I abruptly left, the CEO contacted me asking why and I remember giving him some fake reason, then I decided over time I will forget about it. As far as I know the guy stopped playing the game shortly after, so that was the end of that.

I still remember a post I did where I asked who many EVE-players ppl had slept with. It got locked
I'm up to 6 now btw.
An ex boyfriend forced me to play the tutorial, right before DT, so I had to finish it after. And then I got hooked, but that relationship failed when I'd rather mine omber than... you know.
My old corp had a BBQ last summer, where I met my man. I'll never be as geeky as have an eve-marrige, I don't really belive you can get married after seeing eachother IRl 3-4 times, and been playing with eachother for just 1-4 years, but if CCP would sponsor with a Nyx, I wouldn't be the woman to say no :D Maybe for a Guardian-Vexor... I had a stalker in SWG where my toon was also a female. I played a Medic back before the game got ruined by NGE, so I had to sit in med stations for hours on end healing people who came in from battle. It was a lot of fun and I met a lot of nice people until this one dude was coming in all the time, chatting with me for hours. I tried moving to another city and he found me there too and started buying me all sorts of in game gear and whatnot. I never told him that I was a guy, cause I like to keep people guessing, but it was creepy and I feel bad for females in RL who have to go through that.
I guess people just really love nurses, which is basically what I was in SWG

I wasn't amused for 2 reasons
- He was showing me killmails - He is actually a pretty good EVE player and that's just irritating
We didn't hook up in EVE( we knew of each other but never fought one another in game) but more at CCP. There are a lot of CCP couples and I highly doubt they show killmails to eachother.
Err...

Edited by: Presidente Gallente on 25/09/2009 18:58:08 AFAIK two members of Dark Rising married and ... left the game :-D But that was before I joined the corp.

thats only Obligatory if your 12!
and iv met several people from the net in RL, 2 turned into relations of a sort.
but yes knowing someones ingame persona is always a persona they want, not what they may have!
its also why alot of the smaller, less athletic people are the forum warriors with attitudes, it swings both ways!
friends is fine but dont do anything silly till you have known them along time in RL aswell!
my gf is called Eve (evelyn) so that's pretty close to an eve relationship :D

Ask Tessa Yor about Foxbat,
Ask Caytlyn Rose about Jonathon.
.
Pardon if anyone has already said this, but Cayt and Jon already knew each other before they started Eve. They came from EnB, IIRC, and probably were dating even before then.
But they do get props for Jon proposing to her at the first fanfest, after they flew all the way from NZ. Oveur gave Cayt an Opus Luxury Yacht as a congratulatory present. Then Cayt followed Jon to his new job someplace far away (which may have been one of the references earlier).

My phantasm lasers once met the hull of an abbadon.
They had divine intercourse, and there was a love explosion.

Yes, me. We met through Eve.
After being in the same corp for about a year, we ended up talking on Skype one day and kept in touch, making the calls more and more frequent until weekly became almost daily. We met in person, hit it off and the future is bright indeed. :)
Of all the places to meet someone, I would have never figured on an Internet Space Ship Game to be the place. But it was... it turned out we had a lot in common, beyond happening to enjoy the same video game. That's what has made our relationship work - Eve is a fun and enjoyable experience for both of us, a hobby that lets us spend time together, but it's definitely not the most important aspect of our relationship.

Lesson, love is just a means to increase production, nothing more, carry on.

Met my boyfriend, Morgon Borga, in game over a year ago. I was rambling on about the Red Wings and he commented back to me. A couple months later he complimented my ship and the rest is history... been together ever since. Yes, we've met in person also now too. LOL
Leandra Anor met her man through EVE also and they are now engaged. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
