Some of my friends were playing in EVE, a lootà Over 3 years of playing and paying. ThatÆs was an honest and trustfully characterà LetÆs name his ôXö. Them in his corporation (where hi was a one of oldest and important players), join noob, lets name his ôYö. As a helpful person ôXö help younger mate as hi canà infoÆs, skills, even borrowing of own stuff. Some time later, corp bosses discovered that ôYö uses boots to play on one of his altà so by the corp rules alt was expelled for a corp. sad storyà but this is only a beginning. After thatÆs incident, ôYö felt himself very resentful û ônobody can tell my how I should play!ö. Normal player in situation like this leaving corp, and find more accurate companionà But ôYö has an other idea of ôrulesö. He took a loot of BPO for corp hangars, put offline couple POSÆes (2 in middle of production mother ships), stole POS parts, BPO and anything what hi can. Most of BPO was owned by ôXö (All of them worth over 25B ISK), so ôXö use his skill (using known e-mail) to check who hi is, and send to him information, some like this: ôYou not anonymous in net. You name is ôXö and you live at ôX û homeö, so please give my BPO backö. ôYö returned all (or almost all û cause hi canÆt return minerals and parts for 2 Nyxs) to ôXö. All problems solvedà Not reallyà Here is CCPà After couple daysà All ôXö account was bannedà Reason ôBraking EULA rulesöà ThatÆs was all available informationÆs. So ôXö write an e-mail to CCP: ôWhatÆs happened?öà And receive answer: ôOne of player (supposable ôYö) told us you treat him in RL so hi must give you all his BPOö.
So ôXö lost 4 characters (all of them with over a 50 mil SP) because ôone of playeràö. CCP donÆt even try do explain situation or inform one of conflict sides about incident. They KNOW whatÆs heapend, maybe ôYö was a CEO of CCP or maybe his uncle is a cleaner on second floor on main CCP building? Who knows? Only one thing is solid, ôYö told a truth and only truth.
IÆm old player too, my main char has over 70m sp, and I play and pay over 3 years. As I suppose, based on CCP GMÆs rules my account will be banned to, after thatÆs post, but IÆm not sorry. If in this community thieves and layerÆs doing by the ôrulesöà I should seek accurate companion.

Let me get this straight:
Your friend's corp was stolen from, which is legitimate gameplay (if rather sleazy)
He found out the RL name & address of the corp thief and threatened him
Your friend was consequently banned
What's the problem here? Are you frightened now because you know a guy who will make threats against people because of what happens in a video game? I suggest contacting the police and asking them for help.

Corp theft is an entirely acceptable form of game play in EVE, just as it would have been perfectly acceptable to remove all of "Y"'s roles when you kicked out his bot using alt. This is where the 1st mistake was made. Had that been done, the issue would have been resolved.
However, you kicked his alt and did not censure his main (you should have kicked them both) and he stole from you out of revenge. At this point, you are out of luck. You should have headed this off before it happened, but at least you learned the necessity of being careful with who has roles to access what things.
When X told him that he knows where he lives in RL, and uses that information to force him to return the items X is in clear violation of the rules.
I understand his motivations, but that cannot be allowed in a game of this nature no matter what justification you use. ===== If you go to Za'Ha'Dum I will gank you. |

And also requesting a mental health inquisition too once they catch the bastard. Getting people locked away in the looney bin is often the better choice than jail time. In jail all he will learn to do is mark days off a wall until he can get out and use all that newfound thug knowledge from his cellmates to completely **** you over with no trace of you left to find. In the looney bin they will medicate him well past the point where he even knew there was a life on the outside.

Stealing ingame items is allowed.
Threatening to hurt people (or worse) in real life is illegal in most countries, Yes, It's bloody well right to ban your friend for doing so. ------------------------- I'm not shirtless damnit! |

To summarize the story.. Guy A helps guy b.
guy b steals from corp after a bunch of stuff no one cares about.
Guy A threatens guy b with real life harm if stuff isnt returned.
Guy A is banzored for being a moron who threatens ppl in real life for in game events
If you think bringing real life threats into a situation will help it- you are a moron, go elsewhere.

Troll is becoming a catch all phrase, though, he's not inciting people to anger or anything. Just putting us on a bit. Although this may look like the last sentence in my post, DO NOT BE SO EASILY FOOLED. |

Your friend X had 4 characters with 50 mil skill points each and he did not know that finding real life information on players and using that to coerce them to give you things in game (even if Y is just returning those BPOs) is against the EULA???
Also, where can i apply to this corporation that gives noobs like Y access to offline 2 POSes that are making moms and 25 bil worth of BPOs?
Originally by: Resire Honore Malcanis - you kidding? Without checking entything? Ok - If you thing (as CCP) it is right... I close my acount today.
It does not matter how long you play and how much time you invest into this game, rules are same for everyone. If anyone thinks that playing for 6-7 years and having 100 million skill points on your character will buy you privileges with CCP, that you will be treated differently than a 1-day old noob that just subscribed to this game, sorry but you are wrong. And yes you may quit this game now if you think your time playing this game should correspond to ability to break the EULA without any consequences.

When goodfellas play Eve Online, it would behoove them to remember that Eve is a video game, and not something which you should threaten someone in real life over. Save the real life gangsterism for real life.
I am not going to recommend that people who believe that real life threats are a good way to recover in game corporate assets go play WoW, WoW doesn't need them, and they need some perspective. They should quit Eve though, in favor of professional help.

So I get this right? Someone allows a new player and absolute stranger to have starbase management roles, access to corp/allliance wallet and hangers where bpo's were not locked down?
And then the stuff got stolen and he threatens the thief with real life threats?
Yeah, CCP is right there. Sorry mate, doesnt matter if someone plays for 1 day or 10 years, has 1000 sp or 100 mil, real life threats are a big NO-NO and doing so will get you banned quickly - AND THAT IS GOOD!
