As much as i hate to say it, i think the loss of BOB is has had a positive effect on EVE. I mean it is far beyond coincidence that since BOB was disbanded and their respective corps ventured into other avenues of EVE that the problems we have been seeing for years have started to get resolved.
Casepoint 1: FW has been horrid since a few months after inception, massive lag with small fleets, very little payback. Ex-Bob corps join FW and now the lag issues have been resolved, LP points are assigned for killing targets and new faction stuff will soon be available.
Casepoint 2: It is almost impossible for a new alliance to enter 0.0 and hold sov. So enter the new Sov changes, modification to supercaps so they can now be used for aggressive means, etc, etc.
I'm sorry but does anyone else see this as a little ironic? I am leading to the conclusion that now BOB's bubble has been popped, and CCP is hearing complaints personally from ex-members, they are actually doing something about them. It would be nice if they started listening to the whole player base and not just a minority they happen to be aligned with.

Confirming that CCP only started working on the new sov system when Kenny got kicked out of Delve.

Yeah, it is kind of funny, how as soon as it was no longer advantageous for the alliance formerly known as BoB, things began to be fixed.
Next thing you know, they'll fix POS and do away with the current system entirely...
I'd applaud goons, but their cunning ploy denied me my favorite targets. After all, it's been since Beta we got to kill devs and GMs...

So to recap for the new arrivals...
CCP, as part of the Illuminati, created BoB to conquer their own game. BoB then, using their many many alts, created Goons in order to give themselves an enemy to fight. Goons then conspired with their mains to disband BoB and take their place in 0.0 so that the mains in BoB could be free to join faction warfare. CCP was then convinced by their own alts (BoB) that Faction Warfare needed improvement and by their own alts' alts (Goons) that 0.0 needed improvement.
You know, in a odd sort of way....
