Hi all,
I know the Apoc with 8x miner2 is awesome for mining, but i dont have a 100 mil or more to spend. I do however have about 60 mil and therefore i was wondering what u people consider the best buy in this price-class when it comes to mining. I was thinking of the Armagedon with 7x miner2 and 2500 m3 drone bay. The Dominix has 'only '6 turret hardpoints and requires lots of harvesters (a 4-5 mil) to be competitive. So when the budget is like 60-70 mil...what would u do?

or osprey with cruiser bonus and 3 miner 2, expendable ship

Don't forget the Minmatar Scythe. 3 Miner 2 and a 20% mining bonus / level Min Cruiser isn't bad. And it's cheap too.
You could go for the Dominix and use Basic Mining drones too. They're slower than Harvesters but much cheaper. I wouldn't use Harvesters in any place except 1.0 systems anyway.

Dominix is also an alternative, with 6 turrets and HUUUGE drone bay + drone bonus.

I would say arma, because the domi needs harvies and many of them to outperform an arma. And harvies are not cheap.

I think ill stick with the Armageddon. Even with the knowledge that when Shiva comes out there will be cheap 8xminer2 mining vessels... And these might have the mining potential of an Apoc but will be sitting ducks with little shield and armor, being slow as hell and (probably) will lack combat drone capabilities for defense.
Ofcourse the Arma doesnt have these disadvantages. So that 60 mil will be well spend i think.

If you plan on going mining in 0.0 the dominix is the only option... It can fit 6 miner 2's and can armor tank very well. The drones can take out everything up to 2 500K BS spawns or 1 1M spawn.

the armageddon is the best, eitherway you look at it (except 0.0 space of course)
arma has 7 slots for miner 2's and has drone space, so buy some harvies and use them with tha arma, no dominix can outmine that arma :)
btw for 0.0 a dominix is best choice, like said above, the dominix if a good armortank.

Dominix, since it has enough CPU for the lasers and a solid tank. 13 heavy drones is a cure to NPC ills as well.

Cheaper alternative:
28M miner would be the brutix, 7 miner II's mines faster than a medium barge.. does just fine down to 0.1, in 0.0 a dominix would be best (drone bonus and massive drones space)..
