Empire carebears need to lose stuff so they don't suffer from boredom. So suicide ganking, can stealing, ninja salvaging etc. is the best what EvE has to offer in Empire.
I'd like to have a sudden Armageddon day again.

That day wasn't too bad, until the dreads and what not started appearing in dodixie, and blowin stuff up. but then again explosions are always nice so all in all was a blast.

Edited by: Jmanis Catharg on 19/10/2009 20:51:42 I have a confession and apology to make. I ran a mission last night. Don't hate me for it please, I just feel so guilty I need to make a public apology to all the players in the whole EVE universe who I've affected by this.
I came home from work at 5, had some dinner, then played some sport from about 6:30 to 8, got changed, did some household chores and personal admin. By this stage it was 10pm and I realised I had a spare hour before downtime and ultimately, bed. That's when I did it.
I logged onto EVE, flew out to my mission running ship and accepted a level 4 mission in high-sec. 40 minutes later I was 12 million credits richer. To boot, I even took out my salvage destroyer and recovered the loot and salvage. That added another 10 million, taking the results of my blatant abuse of broken game mechanics to 22 Million ISK.
How can I live with myself now? I've abused a broken game mechanic, the results of which have undoubtedly rippled across the entire EVE universe and made the game nigh-on unplayable. And for that, I apologise to all.
Edit: In other news, none of my sell orders aren't selling because I get undercut by people camping their orders all day long and PvP won't have me because I'm not online to defend the POS all day. ---

Then you are suggesting that you expressly create troll threads?

I'm amused that someone spent a lot of time making a fake Bellum post, but with vastly inferior proofreading.
Saying the game is dying is not accurate. EVE seems to have more subscribers than ever before.
I suppose you could be worried that despite it's success in attracting players, it's turning into a WOW clone, but I'm just not seeing the recent 'carebear friendly' changes.
The last few big ones have been..
FW: Low sec content only. Discourages carebearing, encourages people to go into low sec and shoot up their enemies. Wormholes: null sec content. Discourages carebearing, encouraging people to venture out into the unknown where they can be shot. FW missions! Low sec content only. Nerf to hi sec mission runners by adding low sec L4 missions that are actually worth running. And next up we have a sov system overhaul, which is also null/low sec only.

It's not a fake Bellum post, it is a troll thread. What makes it a good troll is that despite the OP revealing his intention by making a parody on Bellum's character and corp name, half the players posting in this thread have taken it way too seriously, especially ones posting on 1st page and including our carebear forum warrior MatrixSkye MkII.
A+ for the parody C for the actual OP content - could have been made funnier B+ for entire troll

Yep this is indeed a parody post and thank you to those who got the joke and took the time to respond in kind. I am not an alt of Bellum and I am deeply flattered that so many thought I was.
Bellum thank you for taking it in the spirit that it was intended, it is appreciated.
In my real EVE life my main (nope not saying who that is) has been in and out of this game since 2003 and is a 100% carebear mission runner, so scared of NPCs that it took me months and months of playing before I tried level 3s never mind level 4s. I still have no clue what many of the modules do and much of the EVE interface remains a mystery. With Eternal I ran through the new tutorials and learnt stuff (you can drag and drop with the skill queue - WOW).
Since the beginning I have seen many many PVP versus PVE posts, some made good suggestions but many have been pointless. EVE is a big sandbox and a big universe with room enough for everyone. Not everything is balanced and EVE is rarely a win win game; at best it can be a zero sum (someone wins because someone loses) with a small margin. On the PVP\PVE argument I have never liked the extremes from both sides, too often people fail to "walk a mile in the other's shoes" and see their point of view. On the PVE side I love L4s but they are an ISK printing machine and once you have scrapmetal processing 4\5 why would you mine? On the PVP side I have seen players just burn out because of the demands of 0.0 alliances - EVE is a game for fun and not a second job of 8 hour shifts "on the line - for the corp" (you can join the real marines for that).
On both sides there are some thin skins. When I posted the parody my fear was that it would be the PVPers who would take umbrage, instead as a PVEer I am humbled that they have seen the humour. I wish all the PVEers could have to. So maybe we should all chill a bit more, keep the e-peen in the trousers, and remember we all have one thing in common - we love EVE.
I will be keeping Eternal and the corp name (best 1.5 million ISK I ever spent) and using him for FW and to learn PVP, funded by my carebear main. His skills will be crap so he should not be too difficult to make go pop.
Fly safe, and be good. If you can't be good then be careful!

It's Suiseiseki from the anime/manga series Rozen Maiden. The sigs are popular because ... idk, most people think Crumplecorn's sigs are funny? Click the signature to see the rest of them.
The character in question is popular because of a particular forced meme on the Internet ~desu. She has a verbal tic ~desu - she adds desu to the end of about everything she says, even if it doesn't fit the meaning of the sentence ~desu. http://whatport80.com/Desu
I give the troll 8/10 - just barely believable enough to catch your eye for a few seconds, but not subtle enough to keep the belief going once you're done reading it. Humorous nonetheless. ----

Obvious troll is obvious.
Either way, +1 for mention of Shadowbane, best game ever. Shadowbane didn't die because of carebears (I'm a converted carebear because of that game), it died because it had more bugs than the neighborhood hooker, and the learning curve was even more intense than Eve.

Wow.
Just wow.
I am ****ing stunned reading this.
While I feel that CONCORD and sentries are important in making the sec status of a system mean something, I personally hate the security standing system. I shouldn't be penalized for engaging in PvP in losec, especially when it forces me to live in a cave on the dark side of some 0.0 moon.

Just because the op is 'tongue in cheek', it doesn't necessarily mean that it is a troll, or that the sentiment doesn't hold water (with maybe a bit of scotch mixed in?).
For what it's worth, I have been reliably informed that CCP have actually been running a forum web-bot for the last few months, and we need only eight more 'signed's' before they role-back Eve to 2004 at the next downtime. so.................
/Signed.
(as a p.s. - the attitude to the op in this thread pretty much validates the points the op is making. OK, so the game as it was back then wasn't going to launch ccp into the big time, but pretty much anyone who played back then agrees that it was more fun. I spent most of my time back then carebearing, and it was much more enjoyable for the fact that you could die and lose anything up to everything you owned at any time, if you were stupid. Why create a mollycoddled fantasy sandpit almost as dull as real life?)
