I've seen countless escrow scam, avoided a few lab slots scams, and it got me wondering.. what was the biggest scam in the history of EVE? I'm sure there have been a few big ones in the past, if nothing else from peoplr sneaking into corps and abusing trust to steal BPOs.

Edited by: Deepeh on 04/11/2004 11:12:09 Probably not the biggest, but certainly a very cunning scam was the one where this person set up a battleship bpo "fund" and got lots of investors in it. He would buy the battleship bpo, and the investors could have as many bpc's as they liked. He's written it down, let me search for a link...

Edit, I forgot to mention that I read this story on the SomethingAwful forums and this made me sign up for EVE.

TTI Tritanium scam wasn't a scam.
Roark set up a buy order for 1 trit for 1 billion isk, instead of 1 billion trit for 1 isk each.
He made a mistake and James something ? was quick to sell. Not a scam.

Actually it was 100 million, not a billion, or so I recall. That's definitely the funniest scam ever.
Another big scam involved TTI when they basically got robbed of everything, it was after the leadership change and some old 'sleeper' had director rights and basically took EVERYTHING, I think that was somewhere around 4 billion?
2005.04.25 16:40:42 combat Your 1400mm Howitzer Artillery II perfectly strikes LawrenceNewton [WARAG], wrecking for 2706.9 damage.
