Edited by: Kora Zilesti on 10/11/2009 11:14:25 Does this annoy anyone else? Just curious. The corp/alliance's name is not a sentence, and if it's intended to imply some form of finality or seriousness, it fails.
I've begun to generally expect a corporation with a period after its name to take themselves more seriously than anyone else does.

yea I find it very annoying, people have no creativity when they make corps, in fact I resolved long ago never to join a corp with a . in its name

I'm actually burning my next 5 minutes of posting just to tell you how pointless you are. Hopefully you reading this will make you feel something similar as to how i felt upon clicking on and reading your post.
For example, as soon as we left the parking area and entered the grassy path, a long snake slithered along the edge of the high grass and quickly disappeared. In addition, I was surprised by how colorful the grasses, which from a distance all appear to be green, actually are. Specifically, the primarily green landscape is dotted with countless purple tassels and brown stalks. Finally and most importantly, I was unprepared for how quickly I felt surrounded by nature. My alliances name was taken by a dead alliance, but you cannot use dead names. So the dot makes it unique. I expect this is the reason for most dot names.

Well, you may think it was a waste of time, but yesterday I was flying through some local lowsec when I ran into some pirates who had the dot name. They were rather rude and arrogant, and I think that the name of their corporation helps imbed a sort of negative attitude and inflated ego - as it seems like the typical attitude of such corporations. So I got into another ship and I went back to the system, and I
Ha got you back. (none of that happened)

This makes sense and is fine. But just two comments.
1. I've actually put this to the test some time ago and there were unique corp/alliance names that seemed to have the period for no other reason than just to have, as if almost some kind of "c00l" or L33t statement. Dunno.
2. With just a little bit more creativity you could come up with a different name that could portray the same point you're trying to get across (no pun intended, really ).

My corp name ends with a period for a reason, and the reason being good grammar.
"Inc." is a common abbreviation of "Incorporated"

Exactly why does this matter in the first place? Don't be so pessimistic. Nobody likes pessimistic people.
let it go man... just let it go... try looking at the glass half full for a change. Lifes to short to let a little thing like this take your joy...
