ofc som had some officer mods here and there, but rly stop thinking its a huge loss, we also had a fight, thats whats it all about aint it? sure u won the battle, but hey that was after we got 20 moons from you, so yes the 120 mostly insured caps arent such a big loss u guys try to make it,

So how did one side win over the other, (I am on the other side of the galaxy so hell if I would know). Was it more caps on one side, greater support fleet, better tatics?
If this IT invasion implodes before dominion then what big war is going to happen after it to pass the time?
They have moons but less capitals to defend them, so those could be retaken and then all the resources spent taking them would be for naught.

I'm no expert on moon goo but I believe they only need to be put into reinforced to stop churning out isk.
The plan is to keep Goonswarm busy in TPAR so we can't help Pandemic Legion while IT invades Fountain.

We had the upper hand for the first part. Killing dreads faster than they were. All was well until the NC numbers swelled the hostile cap fleet. We started losing faster so decided to pull back.
The simple fact is, 120 caps from our non prime TZ (even with the alarm clock EU swell) will not cripple the alliance. It's funny that any major alliance thinks that the loss of 120 dreads for the death of 70 hostile dreads will cripple the losing alliance.
Maybe if we lost that on a weekly basis, then the chest beating would be validated. However as it is, itÆs a 50 dread loss over all which is jack **** in modern warfare.
IT is still well motivated and believe it or not, the caps will and are already being replaced (the true is the same for PL, Goons, SoT and NC). Ho Ho Ho. More importantly, the alliance members who took part in the fight f**king loved it.
This is the reason why we play. Win or lose as long as we get a fight and can afford to fight we will continue with the same mantra. ôLog in, x up, and enjoy the f**king pewö.
GF to all the pilots on the field that day.
The sad yet funny thing is this; there are those on the forums who actually seem to enjoy the forum chest beating more than the game play itself. Worse stillà those who werenÆt involved at all who get so excited that they need read threads, post bull, and grab a box of Kleenex to deal with their excited trolling.

After IT left the field, there were about 200 dreads on the grid, and some 190 capital wrecks.
Also, missing from our killboards is the coalition's entire conventional fleet which got DD'd by PL to save the PL titans.

Take a look at the battle report, scroll down to a fella, just the first I found on the listings, Ford Chicago, appears in a mega, which dies. Then is back in Moros, which lives apparently, but he supposedly manages to jump out, maybe to re-stront... but then why come back in a thanny?
Wait... WAIT... your not thinking what I am... Jesus Christ batman...
OMG, I almost did what most ******s on CAOD did... jump to conclusions. The simple fact is Ford Chicago could have easily done just that. Yes he may have self destructed to hide the dread loss, but it's equally probable he couldn't get stront so came back in a useful cap. However, I won't let KB reports tell the ****ing story.
KB's are only, and can only ever be the roughest roughest way of providing some light on a crazy ass fun fight. Even then, it's only really useful to those who were actually there.

The amount of misinformation being bandied here is pretty large even by CAOD standards. Guess I've forgotten what the stupid BoB/Goon propagandafests were like from the last time.
The best recap I've seen is Viper's: http://www.scrapheap-challenge.com/viewtopic.php?t=30083&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=240
Anything with IT whining about how outnumbered they were is cr*p, since they ran the larger group pretty much all night. We largely had to wait through a couple moons to find an opportunity to DD it down to something a little closer and go for it.
The IT killboard has probably the best overall kill info, since they mostly had one alliance there plus a smaller percentage of pets (Aeternis, Dirt Nap) and a token bit of -A-. It's also got a pretty good picture of who actually took part and dispels idiotic claims about some massive number of NC.
Stats from IT Board ---
526 IT Alliance ~50 Pets (Aeternus, Wraith.Wing, Dirt Nap) 18 -A-
vs
196 Pandemic Legion (+10 Sniggwaffe) 123 Cry Havoc 109 Goonswarm 55 Sons of Tangra 16 Northern Coalition (10 MM, 6 RZR)
and a few incidentals shooting at whoever - Hikage, Init, etc..
IT had the subcapital majority all night long, while we committed more capitals throughout the course of the battle.
No one spent time repping the POS during the fight since we were busy using every last capital we had available to fight the ongoing 600 man battle. When it was finally done (and people who had alarm clocked were headed back to bed), a stoic band of 20 carriers went back to rep the thing, but were jumped by a couple hundred IT BS before it could be finished (was only barely alive at end of the first fight). That's where the real advantage of being a giant alliance comes in - you've got round the clock hordes of bodies at your disposal. We didn't, and the carriers got in trouble accordingly. Fortunately some good Titan work got most of the carriers cleared off and out, but at that point the moon was toast.
There's the straight info.
CH lost 3 prom moons that night, though 120 hostile dreads died taking them.
I'd be curious to know what sort of total dread losses occurred in the last BoB campaigns, but my suspicion is that more dreads have died trying to take CH moons than any other entity in the game. We should probably put a warning sign on them or something.

People that lost ships and came back are duplicated on the summary numbers. To use a simpler example: http://killboard.executive-outcomes.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=95366
It shows two IT pilots even though it was the same person that lost 2 ships. As a result I am sure that IT and PL and C-H numbers are likely overstated on the board. Since I am fairly sure that we all were trying to get pilots that lost ships back into the fight. The goons and others might have been doing this as well, but I wasn't paying enough attention to say one way or another and I don't feel like sorting it all out.
In any event, there was a moon, a pos and a fight. Much fun had by all no doubt. ---- Proper piracy starts at home. |

Edited by: Mistress Suffering on 22/11/2009 22:44:02 Nah, I don't think they did either. The killboard counts the same guy in multiple ships so the total number is wrong. We never had 130 guys in gang either (I think gang topped ~80). However it makes the same mistakes for both sides of the engagement, so it tends to inflate both side's numbers similarly. More importantly, it does a good job of showing % participation for both sides, revealing the fact that both -A- and NC showed up in tiny amounts compared to the rest of the battle.

*cries havoc*
I am amused by reading a report of some CH person who claims his report is accurate.
CH did, in fact, lose the 3 moons that came out of reinforce. In addition to all the dreadnoughts Pl/Goon/SOT/MM/RZR lost, own support fleet that got DDed by the PL titans (~80 BS), carriers, inability to pick up the scraps.
I do believe your whim to plant "signs" holds little significance anymore :( as CH has no moons worth taking. Instead of wasting time posting here you should be talking to your allies who came to help you and explain to them why your pilots went to bed instead of repairing the PoS.
People believe IT was outnumbered because our cap fleet was noticeably smaller.

There is a reason why viper used our killboard and raw numbers to make his point. It shows our losses from PL DD's, but it doesn't show your conventional fleet that was bridged in and then immediately blown up by another PL DD to save the titan. This skews raw numbers considerably. You will also notice that IT guys talked about cap count.

its been said by PL they dont care about holding all those moons anymore because they already what they wanted out of them. 1 trillion + a month for well over a year?
and by that reasoning with all the isk they have left over theyd never go broke in eve for 10 years. so what is there left for PL to fight for? Simply being on the sov map won't make them any isk.
They can return to just roaming and messing up someone perhaps a 'maximum damage' campaign of sorts and continue with alliance level replacement for all losses.
that being said what do any of the major alliances have to fight for anymore when they are all almost equally as rich as the above example?
I guess all that is left maybe is pride relative to '0.0 space holding'
if IT wasnt reformed and causing all this stir, eve would be a very boring place.

You didn't specify, so i will have to assume what you think is "wrong" here. I will go with PL doomsdaying the coalition fleet they bridged in. Since i don't know if CH bridged in or jumped in on their own, you can replace "you" with "PL/SoT/Goons" in my post to clear the confusion.
And yes, i saw the wrecks, there was silly ammount of yellow ones from PL/SoT/Goons after the DD.
