Lag was insane, was funny to see PL panic and DD their own fleet again to save a titan with 4 extra titans because 2 wasnt enough was fun to hear "guys can we get 2 or 3 more titan pilots on" but im sure they were needed for non 'desperate' tactics, makes you wonder how they will manage in Dominion.
Was an overall battle, local spam was really boring on all sides which was a shame tbh but nvm, NC came towards the end after Goons asked for help, razor followed by morsus mihi followed by miners.
Overall fun battle, boring spam, huge lag and not enough 'U mad' / z0r chains, guess all the pro Goon trolls still inactive.

lol. I'm no fan of IT, i've nothing to base an opinion on so i'll remain neutral, but i do find it humourous that after it took the combined might of 5 alliances to win a battle against their 1 alliance you decide they're not ready for 0.0.

Goons have been activily QQ'ing it just hasnt been CAOD, a combined effort of Zastrow, Edfromwhocares, Goonswarm and Goon alts have been flooding http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1210267 something about members not logging in and they wont be able to handle the expansion, desperately begging CCP to change Dominion or the activity level will drop from 120 strong to 10 strong.
The impact of all the emotional replies was devastating causing a flood within Delve, Fountain and Querious the impact has been so great that it was even on the news http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8370408.stm typical bees always focusing on insurance :P
The main thing this morning was that Mittani went down faster than PLs doomsdayed fleet, maybe he should fly something he can handle, I dunno like a vigil :P

Wow over 110 dreads is an impressive feat. But lets be real about this,It got beat from 3 not 1 not 2 but 3 major alliances, so you really cant say they lost. One of the alliances were the biggest in the game, goons.PLus another alliance is considered the best pvps in the game,PL. So props must be given when props are due.And im sure It isnt gonna disband over it.

Before you make any more serious posts like this, you should review what it is that makes IT up.
I'll give you a hint, its every alliance that was part of the GBC all compressed into one brick turd of an alliance.
I'm pretty sure that was the master plan: "Oh don't mind the fact that we have now absorbed 4783921748329 crappy alliances to become one giant super crappy alliance, LOOK AT ALL THE ALLIANCES YOU HAVE TO USE TO FIGHT US, ect, ect, ect".
All the "yea, but look how many alliances you brought" crap aside, was a good fight, but, would like to trade "A" named dread alt, contact me in game.

Ya they should go join SOT where you can lose 1 titian and 80 bil in the same night :)
Is that seriously the best you could come up with after suffering what can only be described as a downright embarassing loss?
Its even better when their spin on the first Hurley titan loss was, "It doesn't count because hes not really a bob member."

wow, even after the recent unity in Nozhs dev blog between goons, IT etc, Goons still have time to smack on the forums after what looks like a pretty good cap fight.
So what if they logged off... Its hard to enjoy a game when it takes 10 minutes to do anything.
We were in a roaming gang at the time and we got caught up in the lag, it was horrific! I'd rather logg to try and save my ship, then attempt to play an unplayable game.
Looks like a good fight had by all though.
Just stop the smack goonies, you did so well in the recent dev blog :)

Man, its almost like you weren't there and have no idea what the hell your talking about. Amazing.
To fill in the blanks for your bandwagon riding behind, they logged after the lag cleared, and about 60% of the dread fleet was already dead.
They logged because we could shoot fine, they were finally outnumbered, and the fight was indeed fully in our hands.
They logged because they wanted the dead dreads to get new ships, and come back to fight, then giving them a chance to log those same dreads back in and continue the fight.
Before you fully commit to giving head in public like you just did, you should learn all the facts, you may find, at the end of the day, that instead of supporting someone you think is noble, just, and in need of your words of support, your just sitting there with a **** in your mouth.

We held the field for about 40 minuteds after they logoffskied. then after we all jumped out, IT came back in BS and killed the remaining 4% of the towers structure.
They lost 120 dreads, its silly to try and spin that as a victory becuase they ninja captured a soon to be worthless tower.
edit: we also doomsdayed their capture fleet, destroying it completely ----------------------------------------------

Towards the end, everyone was out of stront, with the exception of NC dreads who arrived late. Coalition DD'd their conventional fleet earlier and we were bridging in more of ours. It would have been a pretty one sided fight if they had stayed of the field.

You should be careful, what your currently spinning is 4000 member IT alliance took a Cry Havoc moon. You know, Cry havoc, that devastating behemoth of an alliance that is known for its moon hoarding and fleets of absolute destruction.
3 moons came out within a short time of each other, 2 of ours, 1 of Cry havocs, our 2 were repped fully, and restronted. Cry Havoc, after a 3 hour fight didn't rep their tower (a point about which im sure somebody got reamed for).
I mean, if you think trading 120 dreads for a moon that A) only pays well for about a week and a half, and B) after a week and a half is worth about 1/4 of its current value is a good idea, I say more power too you, we'll probably be ok trading 120 dreads for most of Cry Havocs moons any day of the week, I'm betting Cry Havoc won't mind either.

Which end, the one where you came back 2 hours later? Or the one where your dreads were mass logging out?

your math is of by alot,
first of all that was what moon nr 20? second of all, most dreads if not all where fully issured,
ofc som had some officer mods here and there, but rly stop thinking its a huge loss, we also had a fight, thats whats it all about aint it? sure u won the battle, but hey that was after we got 20 moons from you, so yes the 120 mostly insured caps arent such a big loss u guys try to make it,

So how did one side win over the other, (I am on the other side of the galaxy so hell if I would know). Was it more caps on one side, greater support fleet, better tatics?
If this IT invasion implodes before dominion then what big war is going to happen after it to pass the time?
They have moons but less capitals to defend them, so those could be retaken and then all the resources spent taking them would be for naught.

We had the upper hand for the first part. Killing dreads faster than they were. All was well until the NC numbers swelled the hostile cap fleet. We started losing faster so decided to pull back.
The simple fact is, 120 caps from our non prime TZ (even with the alarm clock EU swell) will not cripple the alliance. It's funny that any major alliance thinks that the loss of 120 dreads for the death of 70 hostile dreads will cripple the losing alliance.
Maybe if we lost that on a weekly basis, then the chest beating would be validated. However as it is, itÆs a 50 dread loss over all which is jack **** in modern warfare.
IT is still well motivated and believe it or not, the caps will and are already being replaced (the true is the same for PL, Goons, SoT and NC). Ho Ho Ho. More importantly, the alliance members who took part in the fight f**king loved it.
This is the reason why we play. Win or lose as long as we get a fight and can afford to fight we will continue with the same mantra. ôLog in, x up, and enjoy the f**king pewö.
GF to all the pilots on the field that day.
The sad yet funny thing is this; there are those on the forums who actually seem to enjoy the forum chest beating more than the game play itself. Worse stillà those who werenÆt involved at all who get so excited that they need read threads, post bull, and grab a box of Kleenex to deal with their excited trolling.

After IT left the field, there were about 200 dreads on the grid, and some 190 capital wrecks.
Also, missing from our killboards is the coalition's entire conventional fleet which got DD'd by PL to save the PL titans.

Take a look at the battle report, scroll down to a fella, just the first I found on the listings, Ford Chicago, appears in a mega, which dies. Then is back in Moros, which lives apparently, but he supposedly manages to jump out, maybe to re-stront... but then why come back in a thanny?
Wait... WAIT... your not thinking what I am... Jesus Christ batman...
OMG, I almost did what most ******s on CAOD did... jump to conclusions. The simple fact is Ford Chicago could have easily done just that. Yes he may have self destructed to hide the dread loss, but it's equally probable he couldn't get stront so came back in a useful cap. However, I won't let KB reports tell the ****ing story.
KB's are only, and can only ever be the roughest roughest way of providing some light on a crazy ass fun fight. Even then, it's only really useful to those who were actually there.

The amount of misinformation being bandied here is pretty large even by CAOD standards. Guess I've forgotten what the stupid BoB/Goon propagandafests were like from the last time.
The best recap I've seen is Viper's: http://www.scrapheap-challenge.com/viewtopic.php?t=30083&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=240
Anything with IT whining about how outnumbered they were is cr*p, since they ran the larger group pretty much all night. We largely had to wait through a couple moons to find an opportunity to DD it down to something a little closer and go for it.
The IT killboard has probably the best overall kill info, since they mostly had one alliance there plus a smaller percentage of pets (Aeternis, Dirt Nap) and a token bit of -A-. It's also got a pretty good picture of who actually took part and dispels idiotic claims about some massive number of NC.
Stats from IT Board ---
526 IT Alliance ~50 Pets (Aeternus, Wraith.Wing, Dirt Nap) 18 -A-
vs
196 Pandemic Legion (+10 Sniggwaffe) 123 Cry Havoc 109 Goonswarm 55 Sons of Tangra 16 Northern Coalition (10 MM, 6 RZR)
and a few incidentals shooting at whoever - Hikage, Init, etc..
IT had the subcapital majority all night long, while we committed more capitals throughout the course of the battle.
No one spent time repping the POS during the fight since we were busy using every last capital we had available to fight the ongoing 600 man battle. When it was finally done (and people who had alarm clocked were headed back to bed), a stoic band of 20 carriers went back to rep the thing, but were jumped by a couple hundred IT BS before it could be finished (was only barely alive at end of the first fight). That's where the real advantage of being a giant alliance comes in - you've got round the clock hordes of bodies at your disposal. We didn't, and the carriers got in trouble accordingly. Fortunately some good Titan work got most of the carriers cleared off and out, but at that point the moon was toast.
There's the straight info.
CH lost 3 prom moons that night, though 120 hostile dreads died taking them.
I'd be curious to know what sort of total dread losses occurred in the last BoB campaigns, but my suspicion is that more dreads have died trying to take CH moons than any other entity in the game. We should probably put a warning sign on them or something.

People that lost ships and came back are duplicated on the summary numbers. To use a simpler example: http://killboard.executive-outcomes.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=95366
It shows two IT pilots even though it was the same person that lost 2 ships. As a result I am sure that IT and PL and C-H numbers are likely overstated on the board. Since I am fairly sure that we all were trying to get pilots that lost ships back into the fight. The goons and others might have been doing this as well, but I wasn't paying enough attention to say one way or another and I don't feel like sorting it all out.
In any event, there was a moon, a pos and a fight. Much fun had by all no doubt. ---- Proper piracy starts at home. |

We never had 130 guys in gang either (I think gang topped ~80). However it makes the same mistakes for both sides of the engagement, so it tends to inflate both side's numbers similarly. More importantly, it does a good job of showing % participation for both sides, revealing the fact that both -A- and NC showed up in tiny amounts compared to the rest of the battle.

I am amused by reading a report of some CH person who claims his report is accurate.
CH did, in fact, lose the 3 moons that came out of reinforce. In addition to all the dreadnoughts Pl/Goon/SOT/MM/RZR lost, own support fleet that got DDed by the PL titans (~80 BS), carriers, inability to pick up the scraps.
I do believe your whim to plant "signs" holds little significance anymore :( as CH has no moons worth taking. Instead of wasting time posting here you should be talking to your allies who came to help you and explain to them why your pilots went to bed instead of repairing the PoS.
People believe IT was outnumbered because our cap fleet was noticeably smaller.

There is a reason why viper used our killboard and raw numbers to make his point. It shows our losses from PL DD's, but it doesn't show your conventional fleet that was bridged in and then immediately blown up by another PL DD to save the titan. This skews raw numbers considerably. You will also notice that IT guys talked about cap count.

its been said by PL they dont care about holding all those moons anymore because they already what they wanted out of them. 1 trillion + a month for well over a year?
and by that reasoning with all the isk they have left over theyd never go broke in eve for 10 years. so what is there left for PL to fight for? Simply being on the sov map won't make them any isk.
They can return to just roaming and messing up someone perhaps a 'maximum damage' campaign of sorts and continue with alliance level replacement for all losses.
that being said what do any of the major alliances have to fight for anymore when they are all almost equally as rich as the above example?
I guess all that is left maybe is pride relative to '0.0 space holding'
if IT wasnt reformed and causing all this stir, eve would be a very boring place.

You didn't specify, so i will have to assume what you think is "wrong" here. I will go with PL doomsdaying the coalition fleet they bridged in. Since i don't know if CH bridged in or jumped in on their own, you can replace "you" with "PL/SoT/Goons" in my post to clear the confusion.
And yes, i saw the wrecks, there was silly ammount of yellow ones from PL/SoT/Goons after the DD.

PL pretty much only managed to catch PL's own BS group (~50 of them) along with the IT one (~100). I think they clipped 6 SoT in the process.
Goons have had time to get smarter about letting PL Titans near them and didn't get plowed. We similarly kept our distance because we know PL believes every killmail is a good killmail :P

It was actually just a panic move. There was 100 dreads sitting on PL titan. Shamis ended up getting doomsdayed as well, meaning even their FC's didn't have time to react. The 100 DD'd IT bs you mentioned are nowhere to be found on PL killboard.

Arn't the numbers irrelevant in determining who 'won'?
PL and Co's objective was obviously to stop any further IT progress. IT made progress even though they lost more caps than PL and Co.
Surely the determining factor as to who "won" is whose objectives were completed and whose were not. Excuse me if that is a little simplistic but you lot are the ones saying 120 > 70 therefore PL & co > IT.
In the Vietnam War the US and allies killed more than 3 times the number of Vietnamese than they lost themselves but i dont hear anyone saying the US won that war.
State objectives and if they were completed or not. Then the rest of us will decide for ourselves whether a) we believe you, and b) who we think won. Unless you two groups of children would like to continue your "We won!", "No, we won!" arguement.

It shows our losses from PL DD's, but it doesn't show your conventional fleet that was bridged in and then immediately blown up by another PL DD to save the titan. This skews raw numbers considerably. You will also notice that IT guys talked about cap count.
Wrong, I only used intel reports for numbers assessments. My report wasn't posted in this thread, the following is it:
So, today was fun.
IT reinforced a bunch of posses in syndicate, thankfully all were timed well enough to come out in US TZ. Here's a list:
21.11.2009 03:10 PL - D5IW-F 21.11.2009 03:15 Cry Havoc - IIRH-G 21.11.2009 03:55 PL - D5IW-F 21.11.2009 04:29 Cry Havoc - 3-INOV 21.11.2009 04:34 SOT - 0T-AMZ 21.11.2009 05:45 Cry Havoc - F67E-Q
The night started in IIRH. Cry Havoc had an r64 there, it came out slightly after the PL tower in D5I. About 300 IT came, nuked it and stuck around while a second PL tower came out. Both PL towers were saved without incident.
IT then moved to 3-I to kill another CH tower. At this point CH had about 50 (BS/support) in fleet, PL+SoT had ~150 (BS/support, 30 capitals, between 5 and 10 titans) and IT had somewhere around 300 (roughly 200 BS/support, 100 capitals). IT bridge into 3-I, we notice they're not aligned to anything specific, time to DD.
We light two cynos, titans straight on top of the hostiles and BS at the closest planet. DD snags a few, one of our titans gets tackled, BS come back in. Our BS come back in, everyone at this point is bubbled, including our titan. Another cyno up, IT capitals start arriving.
http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/4558/3isupport.jpg
Fourth cyno goes up, three more PL titans come through and DD the grid. All hostile and friendly support is now gone. All titans warp out. After a few minutes of dumb****ery (mostly because we killed all of the cynos in our fleet) we manage to get another cyno in system and on top of the hostile dreads. It goes up, PL + Goon capitals jump in. I'd guess we were pretty heavily outnumbered at this point.
http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/8529/3isupport2.jpg http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/752/3icaps1.jpg
Capfight goes on for a while, CH jump in for us as well as the PL support fleet who had all reshipped to dreads. IT pilots return in new dreads, and carriers for those who didn't have a spare. PL pilots continue to return in new dreads as theirs die. Towards the end of the fight the NC made a showing with a few capitals as well. IT ends the fight by calling a logout, by that time both sides were out of stront anyway and goons probably would have done the same thing if roles were reversed.
http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/1037/3icaps2.jpg http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/8207/3icaps4.jpg
As for losses, well, I won't go too much into it.
PL API shows 23 losses currently, I doubt it will go over 25, also shows somewhere around 80 kills right now, I'm quite sure that'll keep rising.
Edit: CH is losing a capfleet to IT right now. x2: Updated with screenshots.
-----------
Also, you (IT in general) keep referring to a DD where we killed our entire support fleet. I'm not sure why you think this is a huge deal. It was a tactical decision to sacrifice several of our BS and not only kill your entire BS fleet (which it did to a large degree) but get our dread mains who were stuck in BS back to our staging system once we saw your caps come in. I have no idea why you guys brought capitals in when you had one of our titans tackled, it had to be obvious that we had several supporting it and that you wouldn't be able to keep tackle.
In the end, we traded ~70 dreads, 4 carriers and 3 r64s (which we don't consider to be nearly as worthwhile as you do, I won't speculate on the supposed payout of these moons as we really don't know their worth yet) for ~120 capitals. We're happy with the trade, you seem happy with the trade.

I find it interesting all this discusion about who lost and who won... Obviously PL and friends thought the moons inportant enough to risk 5 (or was it 6) titans to clear an IT fleet.
In the end IT lost 120 caps (roughly 96000 million or 96 billion) whith most of them insured --->no loss The only loss are the mods which, looking at the killboards, are not fantastic on either side so not a biggie here
In the end IT held the moon which even on expected dominion prices will still generate an insane ammount of isk.
So who won the engagement depends on the stated objectives. Is ITs objectives were to take the moon, then they won. If GOONS and Friends objectives were to have fun then they won too. By the way a Pyrrhic victory only hapens when the losses are so devastating that you cannot recover from them. Because the insurance and the use of not very special mods the loses on both sides were non consequential and easily replaceable.
PL and Co and IT ..... Thank you for making eve interesting again

Originally by: ChaeDoc II Arn't the numbers irrelevant in determining who 'won'?

Goons posting is a lame attempt to conceal the obvious... IT has facerapyed most if not, all, of PL, SOT etc etc etc r64 moons in low sec. It really is embarrassing when you think about it. IT's moon campaign can be classified as nothing but wildly successful.
This last battle was quit clearly a last gasp coordinated effort to stop the bleeding and make a stand. All of the Goon allies coordinated an intelligent and vigorous defense. They killed alot of cap ships. Lost of few of their own. Yet they STILL lost another moon.
The grim reality is that even with the combined might of PL, Goons and the NC they cannot stop IT from achieving strategic objectives. null

this is an interest of mine, and it commonly comes up in a eve-online, a spaceship game, how people cope with loss - and similarly, the utter incomprehension of those on the other side regarding that coping. happens in p much every situation itg.
Can we get an update from Mitts if he is going to mention this fight in his upcomming speach?

I concur.

Actually best necro of the year, re-reading those goon posts made me lol and throw-up at the same time. The only fight worth fighting is the one you should lose. |

it should come as no surprise that after losing the most caps in one battle in the history of the game....
Hey Mittani, we've been witnessing your forces of rationalization both now after you lost the "best" space in the game, and after you lost the most caps in one battle in the history of the game. And guess what, we're not going to argue with you, but you sure as hell can bet we're laughing and shrugging (so much my shoulders hurt!) You are probably going to suffer a pretty major clinical depression now that everything you've worked so hard for over the years is now coming back to HAUNT you. What a nice necro.

Sov changes were proposed initially by CSM which is flooded with Goon fanbois 6. Goons used exploits to reinforce 49- themselves 7. Rebellion alliance are ISK sellers 8.

Cute - Can you post something to proof that one of the IT members has something to do with the Sov changes ? Or has something to do with your incompetence of cash management ?
It was the CSM of PL, that posted here, all changes in Dominion were from their feedbacks. Is one of the IT members CSM ?
Or do you wanna say us, that CCP knows about Goons incompetence of cash management ?
