For the record, I had this exact same problem but fixed it myself.
I have Radeon X1950 and had white stripe on fittings screen, laggy / slideshow frame rate when undocking, when entering warp etc etc.
I simply updated my drivers to the latest version (09.11) and all was sorted.

Same problem here. But I've luck, why? I have a notebook with windows vista and a gforce graphic card. But on my xp OS with Ati radeaon X1800 , i have the problem with the white stripe, and more. Since Dominion I have very much lags between warping, docking station.
Okay the planets look better now, but can't be the reason for Lag. I tried different setups.
The really bad thing is the white strip.

Edited by: Alejan Gerakh on 02/12/2009 19:57:17 This is bizzare... wonder how many people with ATI cards don't have these problems... As far as I can tell, my 4870 doesn't seem to cause these issues, at least. Should I knock on wood, now? (EDIT: someone said they ran into these problems with a 4600-series earlier in the thread) ---- "Sounds like a bad case of pikal envy, if you ask me."

Had a bit more of a chance to check this out. I'm also getting the screen lag when initiating warp / docking, as well as the white rectangle I mentioned at first.
Tried reinstalling the 9.11 drivers again just to be sure as others seemingly had the issue resolved by driver update, though that was the first thing I tried. However the problem is still present.
Cheers.

Originally by: CCP Sisyphus Edited by: CCP Sisyphus on 02/12/2009 09:53:02 Hi there.
Confusing case - I have exactly the same setup - same drivers, OS version, directX, ram etc. I dont get this white stripe.
Are you running fullscreen/windowed, and what settings are you running ingame?
Awesome to hear from you, Sisyphus. I'm running the thing in Windowed, with everything on High except Bloom, HDR and Resource Cache, which are off. The problem persists in fullscreen mode and every permutation of the settings that I've tried, however.
I'm running the absolute latest driver package, Nov. 17th's 9.11 Catalyst package, to no avail. I'm sure the update took, because CCC says 9.11, and an issue that I had with Modern Warfare 2's text turning into matrix characters has been corrected, so I know for certain there's updated drivers in there.
Here's a screenshot of my ingame graphics settings.

Remember seeing something in my logserver files about missing frames? Could be something to do with that?

I submitted a bugreport, ID 88050, with a logserver file attached. It covers the time from which I open the fitting window, to the time at which I close the fitting window. I hope that it helps!

My variation to this is that the CPU and Power readout at bottom right on the fitting screen is missing.
This latest patch didnt fix it:

I tried to update catalyst, but i don't know if it worked (my Graphics card doesnt like which model it is and reports itself as another one for drivers). One hour later I'm back to the right drivers and a newer version on Catalyst but still have the stripe.

Same issues as above: white stripe along the bottom of the fitting screen which extends out to the monitors left edge, and lags present on warp.

Just updating the drivers does not fix the issue. Tried to install the full ATI Catalyst Control Centre thinghy and then everything got borked real bad. Finally removed ALL ATI related stuff, then installed the full CCC+drivers 09.11 and voila, white bar is gone. Had no time yet to test if frame drops and freeze up's got fixed as well.

I tried to install the newest CCC and drivers, but it seems that my computer doesn't support that. I have Compaq 6820s laptop and ATI mobility radeon x 1350 card.
Is it possible that this bug will fixed in the future patches? Or if anyone have any idea how to fix the problem?
this is my problem

I just want to point out that the problem has not been solved with the patch of today (Domininon 1.0.1). And I can't update my ATI Mobility Raddeon X1400 drivers, since I have a Dell inspiron 6400 laptop. Every driver I download won't install because it says I have to go to the manufacturer of my computer. But on Dell.com is only a very old driver from 2007. Anyone knows how I could update my drivers anyway ?

Hello - Updating my drivers resolved this issue for me.
I had extreme sluggishness when opening the fitting window, and a white bar across the low slots in fitting window. It happened in space and docked.
I did nothing else, I just updated my drivers and the issue disappeared.
I am running the pci version of the x1300. |

Go to DriverHeaven and look to their Mobility Modder program and instructions- that's the way I did it for my Gen1 XPS laptop and its ancient Mobility Radeon 9800 (which, admittedly, I haven't used for EVE in awhile, and it may not have the Shader tech to handle it anymore). ---- "Sounds like a bad case of pikal envy, if you ask me."

22 of us in this thread have this issue. Four of us have updated drivers and found it helped. I did a complete uninstall of ATI products in the system, using their uninstaller, running a registry clean, deleting the directories on the hard drive, everything. And still, the cat came back the very next day.
Needless to say, still got it as of Dominion 1.0.1, but that was expected, there's nothing in the patch notes about a fix for this. All we can do now is cross our fingers and hope for the best! I know you can do it, CCP.

I was experiencing this issue too, at first.
I've tried a few of the driver sets I had, and found that version 9.3 did the trick for me ( or so it would appear for now, hehe ). Ati Radeon x1900xt here by the way.
I hope you guys find a solution to this issue as well !.
Cheers.

The GM's asked me to remove the drivers, run a 3rd party tool to try and clear down any previous detritus from the previous driver and reinstall the drivers again.
Rather than run the 3rd party tool I opted to reinstall windows XP, upgraded to SP3 and then install the drivers without any previous install (All on a new partition).
The problem still exists,,,,
To the previous post, my ATI support directory shows I had 9.3 installed prior to 9.11 so no luck there for me either. (I still have the driver set there in the old partition.

Same thing.
Ive tried reinstalls, defrags, resetting graphics settings. Nothing seems to fix this box at the moment. I reinstalled graphics drivers to, and it is still there.
Seems to be a problem with the x1k series of card then, I have a X1800XT, so I guess we will be waiting a while for a fix :/ Annoying as hell though, so difficult and near impossible to fit my ship.
