I think you are mistaking elitism for just not wanting to be that big.
The reason we are lacking EU fc's is because Shadoo was such a dominant force that he literally blotted out all other EU fc's. So the ones that had potential either quit or went inactive. We have the FC's we need in US timezone because I am more than willing to share US timezone with other FC's since I have no desire to lead gangs every day of the week anyway.

I'm not. There is a difference between the number of 'pilots' in an alliance, and the number of 'active pilots' in an alliance. Your focus on slow, highly selective, organic growth (or whatever you want to call it) essentially meant that you had increasingly less 'active pilots', despite the gradual incline of total numbers. So far, so obvious.
What compounded this is your openly elitist outlook and recruitment approach - which inevitably meant that the larger percentage of players joining you have been in-game for many years, and are thus much more likely to be less active, or plain old 'done it all before' bored.
Bored veterans don't drive alliances forward, they don't make the game fun, they don't encourage participation, they don't have the willpower to drive campaigns and get results. And the many, many unchecked egos in your alliance created an intimidating environment for any would-be FC to develop their skills, no matter your intentions.

You have more than enough members, people just don't want to x up any more. I remember mentioning that with only goons showing up last few days, PL can finally claim to be outnumbered.

IT may be accelerating your death, but did not cause it.
Elitism in internet spaceships never works for long. It shuts out enthusiastic newcomers who are needed to keep things fresh and vibrant over time. Your alliance culture actively put off people from raising an hand and trying to develop into the FC's you now need. FOTM semi-actives and minor eve-o celebs don't really count.
Bored veterans are the death of many corps and alliances. It happened to BoB, it's happening to you, and it will happen to anyone else who adopts the PL model of elitism and unforgiving criticism.

No no no, BD. Having an alliance in which 4 or 5 egomaniacs backstab each other for power while bellowing '***got' at everyone else helps to toughen up the troops and instill respect amongs underlings. It doesn't just cause them to stop logging on.

I guess itÆs pretty obvious to me that in most cases ôwhat you walked in with is what you will walk out withö is going to be the policy?
Any bets on who walks out the door with the most loot during this failcascade?

Hopefully the people with director in said corps will just clear out the hangars on their way out like usual so Shamis won't have to worry about diving it all up. It'll already be gone.

Ahahaha the irony of this post is astonishing. When was UK at its zenith, what late 04-early 05? And that is before we even get onto the corp and the poster.
UK is an extremely welcoming, fun loving corp centred on enjoying the game and providing a wide ranging experience of Eve for our fellow members. We don't get hung up on elitism or image. We don't back stab each other. We don't rage at each other and constantly call each other ***gots, or try to outdo each other. We actually consider each other to be friends, equals, and almost never argue in alliance chat.
We appear to have two different value scales in this game, which is why our outlook and our enjoyment are so very different.
My point to you is that PL was indeed once a 'bright star', but has now become a rather dim candle. We now know how you treat SoT. We now know how little you like or trust each other. And we now know that you have a serious morale problem, and an EU FC shortage. You're also getting curb stomped by an alliance you're still pretending to look down on.
In my view PL unfortunately lost their way. They became too obsessed with culturing their 'elite' image, and with tokenistic victories (e.g. cheating to win the tourney). It became centred on the cult of personality, rather than caring about its members. They lost the magic, the prestige and the cache they used to have as soon as they became just another space holding alliance.
You're welcome to disagree, but since we've now read your forums we won't believe you. You've stuck with your alliance even after it passed its peak and for that, at least, I give you credit. Not sure I could stand being called '***got' for that long tbh.
