Not wanting to be particularly inflammatory - but isn't your situation supporting their point? You're trying to play EVE without PvPing, and you find that after a while it gets boring and meaningless.
EVE is a boring and meaningless game of pixel-collecting if you don't pit yourself against other players. Hence the "doing it wrong" assertions.
I disagree, if you have little interest in PVP combat anyway, then it'd be a boring and meaningless game of pixel hunting. I would assert that "doing it wrong" would be doing _____ that you hold no value to because other people think _____ is the correct way of playing EVE.
Anyways, anything in EVE gets boring if you do it long enough, maybe it's a sign to move on if there's nothing else that interests you. (Currently I'm searching for that 'something else' that'll keep me in this game)

I would suggest looking towards Nightmare. It is same kind of awesome as Golem is. If you get the skills for that that is. At Amarr side at L4 it will be still outperformed slightly by the max skilled Golem but when you get it all to L5 for Amarr side also it will indeed outperform gank Golem in missions against Blood/Sansha/Drones. The Paladin is ofc nice also, but Nightmare rewards you better when you have isk to burn to really pimp it.
Also I assume you have already maxed out the hardwires section for your pwnmobile. Nightmare ofc would need separate clone with separate set of hardwires to really shine.

Edited by: Marcus Alkhaar on 08/12/2009 23:06:12 If you don't want to do the actual PvP then you can donate isk to your favorite PvP alliance or PvP corp which you trust and want to see achieve something
Might be entertaining

First up; I'm not the original poster. My situation wasn't being discussed here. I'm not trying to play EvE without pvp-ing, and I'm having a blast.
But you're ignoring the fact that the OP has specifically said that PVP means nothing to him. Even if he's milked PVE for what it's worth, that won't make him miraculously like PVP.

In WoW terms, you are grinding gold to buy purples from the Auction House. It is a dead end, you prolly cant effectivise this aspect much more.
But what about resaddling your business and go get those purples yourself? You need a pimped out Tech 3 cruiser, exploration skills and the ******* to put up such an investment.
You will engage challenging content once more, even in scenarios that won't dead end you as there are fights that just cant be done alone.
I have a pimped out level 4 mission runner too, but today it's my fallback position when Ratting in 0.0 is too dangerous and the roaming takes too many tolls on my wallet.
So what you have now, regard it as an asset allowing you to move out into new space.

Exploration or 0.0 is the next step, or you could change professions and work on building an industrial empire. Could be fun, play the trading game, start a corp, run a business.

Yeah i'd say exploration (WH, plexes etc) is a nice way to spend some time. If you haven't ran the epics, do those. Cosmos...
Otherwise, i'd say trading - even though it can be tedious at times - can be quite entertaining too. It's a nice challange and you'll need your wits about. You can even do it from within your mission vessel, and since it's so godalmighty powerfull, it's a nice way to spend you braincells. Admittedly it's pvp though.
Also, you could start manufacturing or inventing really obscure stuff that nobody wants to build. Dunno, seems a cool thing to do if you have enough ISKIES.

I would say, yes, you have won PVE. You can continue to make insane isk with that boat and pay for multiple accounts with PLEX without any problem what so ever.
So start doing something different. Let your golem pilot be your cash cow, and start a pvp character. Join Red vs Blue and have fun. I know you probably aren't used to having fun in EVE, but it is possible and wont' break the game.
