Hulkageddon may be over (sort of), but it's spirit will forever live on. I found myself rather bored yesterday, waiting for a guy to log on so I could gank his so-called ungankable hulk. It didn't happen, so I decided to kill a random hulk for a giggle. I found this.
Being happy with my quick little gank, I was about to hit the sack & received a convo from the other person in the belt. If I'm to take a guess, I killed a husband & wife veld mining team... And she clearly wears the pants.
If I'm to take another guess, it appears that they're planning to sell the accounts. Mission accomplished? |

It was a day time sleep due to working nights. However, I did sleep very well. Thanks |

Do other games have cultures where it's concidered a victory to make someone quit? And congrats on your....victory... Not everyone thinks the same way you do. This doesn't automatically make them wrong. |

I didn't want them to quit, I wanted them to learn from their mistake. If they want to cry & rage-quit the game over it, the least they could do is give me their stuff.

It's a service. When people realize that a game doesn't suit their interests, it allows them more time with which they can find a game that does. The tragedy is when people spend so much time on a game before they realize it's not the right game for them. This is EVE. -á Everybody Versus Everybody. |

If you really took enjoyment from this, you are indeed a questionable person. You're also proof that many gankers get off on actually hurting other people. This has nothing to do with a game or sandbox. You are gloating about a real person's reaction. Enjoy being yourself. I doubt anybody else will share your fun. |

I agree. It's wrong to take enjoyment from a computer game. I will ponder this any time I do something that's intended to be fun.

How? If your gank victim is having an RL reaction to a game, that is something they need to deal with before playing games. This is EVE. -á Everybody Versus Everybody. |

5 minutes of research about the game would've saved them 10 weeks of time. Laziness should not be celebrated, supported or rewarded.

I once waited outside a grocery looking for targets to gank because I was bored. After 5 solid hours of people coming and going, a suitably soft target came outside pushing a cart so overloaded it was barely moving. Recognizing she had probably bought a months worth of food I jumped up and ganked that 82 year old lady with a round-house faster than a dog eating bacon.
Joy filled my heart as I quickly grabbed the cart. Having not learned her lesson about how she was at fault, she started cursing me, saying how she didnt have anymore money until next month for food, and how she was never coming back. Yelling over my shoulder as I ran with the cart, I educated her on how foolish she was for putting that much loot in one cart and that next time she should make 15 separate trips to the grocery to prevent losing so much. A warm fuzzy feeling of pure win overcame me at the thought of the old lady never coming back to this particular store.
Later that evening I went back to the store and boasted of my accomplishment to anyone that would listen, making sure to go into detail of just how stupid people are.
As I relate this story to you, I've been sitting outside the same store going on 4 days. Noone shops there anymore and I am getting rather bored. Hmm, maybe I should move a few blocks over.... When it comes to PvP, I am like a chiwawa hanging from a grizzley bears pair of wrinklies for dear life. |

OP seems pretty happy with his work here. What I don't understand is why, in this game, is being mean or taking advantage of someone considered a good thing?
Is it that fleeting sense of power over another?
Maybe. :O |

Why are you wasting time here then? You have a lot more players out there to educate. Your laziness in making the game a better place is high disappointing and will not be rewarded with likes. |

Because how one behaves in a fictional setting directly relates to their personal life.

People like the OP are worth 10,000 AFK miners. I'd much rather play a game with people like the OP than with people like the miners he killed. One reason for that, of course, is that people like the OP are actually interested in playing the game, while the miners are just AFK--not really playing at all.
If having all the AFK miners quit the game is the price of keeping suicide ganking legal, I would make that trade in a heartbeat. |

The setting may be fictional but the interactions are real. You may not be physically hurting someone, but emotionally the impact is still very real. |

And exposure to that sort of emotional impact is what the victim signed up for when they payed their $15 and logged in. I fail to see the problem with a work of art providing emotional impact. This is EVE. -á Everybody Versus Everybody. |

I didn't say there was a problem. I said the OP's actions in game probably reflects who he is outside of EVE. Then I questioned his reasoning for wanting to inflict negative emotional impact on other players. |
