Is it time to split the game in two? Have an "eve-lite" for thoses who want to look at nice spaceship pixels and do safe missioning and stuff and have a separate main eve game that has no hi sec, only low sec and null sec - or just a game with null only?

+1 with Tippia on this one, got to have risk and consequences for it to be meaningfull for me.
[cynicism]
Though I will agree there is merit to split the playerbase into two shards:
Shard 1: Mature players who are capable of respectfully extending the sandbox to others and understand the symbiosis of interests but can expect and accept some aspects of gameplay outside of their control.
Shard 2: Selfish Asshats with unhealthy Meta interests where "winning at all costs" is the only consideration.
Though I'm unsure wether it has a comercial future as realistically I would see shard 2 as a minority populace, but if it's sustainable?
[/cynicism]
Ideally as a playerbase however, we need to work at this together rather than entertaining and fueling any kind of "us and them" mentalities. Bounty Hunting, Soon Gäó

Anyone who actually went to this other shard where nothing ever gets blown up and all people do is mine and other forms of PVE would soon realise that they wouldn't have much use for whatever amounts of ISK they could get into their wallets. Nothing would ever be destroyed, except for the odd mistake in missions and the market would nosedive into the ground.
I'd give it a month or two tops before they started wondering why they bothered. In reality I doubt that many would actually go there since a lot of those who do industrial stuff recognize and enjoy the aspects of the game that make their efforts pay off. The problem is this the forums and people tend to create controversy here or at least try too.
So there are very few threads that are actually truthful. Most of them are just people trying to stir things up.
It would not surprise me for one minute if one thread that says OMG I got ganked I quit and another that states carebears go away are actually made by the same person.
There is a reason why most of the player base doesn't bother to read the forums. They just can't be bothered to sift through all the garbage.

Thats an interesting point of view - so you think it'd be better to split between a pvp and pve server than it would be to have a split between geographically-diverse servers that both continue as effectively pvp servers?
Personally I think any kind of PVE server thing would be the death of Eve everywhere. Whereas I think you could probably get away with geographical sharding with identical rulesets if you needed to go that way.
Granted its a huge step and not needed currently - but its probably trending in that direction due to the apparent differences in game design aspirations between geographically-disparate groups.
Personally I can't help but be a little intrigued as to what the character of a Euro/russian server for Eve online would be. I have to admit I really like the atmosphere on euro world of tanks :)
Still its bluesky thinking in a funny thread, whats wrong with pondering some bizzare options on a tuesday morning eh.

Do this and several things will happen:
-The "EVE-lite" will die quickly because there isn't really anything to spend the money people make.
-"EVE-Hardcore" will die quickly because there's nowhere to shop, no one to build anything, and no where to go when some bigger group (inevitably) flexes it's mi8litary might and punts you from your space.
-"Carebears" will simply invade "EVE-Hardcore" in some kind of way just to then claim to CCP that "hey, you know what will get you lots more subs? HIGH SEC/SAFE ZONES and MOAR PVE content!!!" (because, other than risk-aversion, that's what carebears do, try to change situations to suit them rather than adpating to suit the situation"
-Since no one will end up playing , CCP will explode and it will all be moot, NO EVE for anyone.
EVE is supposed to be harsh, but you knw what else is harsh? Real life business lol. CCP had to make some concessions (like high sec and other "player coddling" features" because, lets face it, there aren't enough hard core space ship pvp players on earth to keep something like the original eve financially viable. Fact is, most mmo gamers are themepark/hold my hand/casual-solo players, and for eve to survive ccp had to get some of them.
I know RL politics are taboo here, but I'll make the analogy anyway. It's just like rightwing/conservative people vs left wing liberal/progressive/socialist people. they HATE each other, each side wishes the other side would fall the hell off the face of the freaking earth. But, (and they won't admit it, some don't even realize it) they need each other, for balance sake. An all rightwing world would suck just a much as an all elft wiing world, it's meeting in the middle that makes things work.
I have forever said on these boards, I understand this game needs all types and I don't care how you play as long as you understand that eve is NOT really meant to be a solo-casual-hold your hand game. You can choose to play that way, but you MUST understand that by doing so, you make yourself a second class EVE citizen. The conflict (for me) comes when people refuse to accept the consequence of their "playstyle" but rather try to get ccp to change the nature of the game. |

Thing is it could happen at any time. Another game company could put out an eve-like game that is PvE based. If that were to happen, would a good portion of CCP's subs move over? Would eve survive? In order to prevent such an occurrence, would the best company to run such a game be CCP?
Its interesting to contemplate what a PvE version of eve would be like. First what is meant by a "PvE game"? The definition I will use is "No non-consensual space combat, even when you are flying in space". There would still be the market, and players could compete against each other in activities like exploration.
The eve economy runs on stuff being blown up. But with no non-consensual space combat players will be killing each other far less. We need to keep the economy working. What would have to happen is the PvE segment of the game would have to be ramped up. Way up. POSes in high sec getting attacked by NPCs. NPC supers in Null hot dropping your mining op, or trying to take away your Sov.
Other changes would be needed. If done, would it be best for it to actually be a different shard? Or just a new area in the current eve universe? http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

I think euro's tend to prefer smaller individualistic organizations with their own character and quirks while north americans prefer giant uber alliances with everyone being a cog in the great machine. As we can see with the current wardec mechanic discussions there is a tension between the two preferences with many believing one must give way to the other with a oneway system in the sandbox.
(obviously euro/russia being a whole mess of different language/cultural groups helps reinforce this diverse tapestry feel - while the mono culture of north america tends to reinforce the large organisation bias.)

(obviously euro/russia being a whole mess of different language/cultural groups helps reinforce this diverse tapestry feel - while the mono culture of north america tends to reinforce the large organisation bias.)
It is true that educated people with long histories and rich cultures appreciate individualism, nuances and character, and illiterate masses favor consumerism, spoon-fed values and Republicans, but without the data linking McDonald's or civilized nations to EVE corporations I can't directly confirm or deny how this is relevant in the current wardec discussion.

The point is that CCP could just put all that effort into PvE on the PvP shard and not bother splitting the shard.
Or all the people that have come from multi-shard PvE games to EVE could just accept that EVE isn't just another multi-shard PvE game, nor should it be.
The OP's suggestion has a flavour of "OK so our forum campaign to change EVE's non-consensual PvP culture is failing, so instead of asking for the whole game to be changed to suit us, we'll change our demands to asking for only half of CCP's resources to be allocated to us". Malcanis' Law: Any proposal justified on the basis that "it will benefit new players" is invariably to the greater advantage of older, richer players.

Lol, nicely said. ( never played another online game except eve but I get the point)
Leave the game ? I'm happy doing pvp in low and null sec so I'll stay for a little longer for now.
Are we painting all hi-sec dwellers with the same brush and saying that they would all go to the "lite" version. I think there are many in this game that excel in the current game mechanics and would happily stay in the "full" version.
The posts seem to argue that this is a bad idea because of market issues. So are we saying that a market could not function in a game with only low or null secs. Or a game with null sec only? I have not been playing this game as long as many but was the game not all 0.0 before he introduction of high sec? Was there no market then ( genuine question here)
Cant see the point in having an EU /US split that seems silly even to me. The multi national/cultural aspect of the game is one of the many things that makes this game shine. |

If I was to be baited into player possibilities of IG applied therapy where action speaks louder than words I could say Hulkageddon is one of course, for the extreme Carebear elements that are fixed about their need to win the game with no losses.
I'm trying to get one element for the uncompromising griefer/criminal element going with Bounty Hunting to help address some of the inequalities. But I don't want to label it as "white knighting" pers se as their are suffcient considerations to it simply being a mercenary profession providing an additional security service. Also there are more criminal related aspects than just suicide ganking and the Hulkageddon issue, but it is a very topical issue to help advertise.
Other than that, education is still key, so I guess continue the rhetoric. Maybe then its not simply a case of triage but embrassing pilots with better awareness to all the aspects within EVE, whilst trying to accomodate concerns respectfully.

Dumbest thing ever said on the forums. Even more so then the OP, and that's saying something. Thats an interesting point of view - so you think it'd be better to split between a pvp and pve server than it would be to have a split between geographically-diverse servers that both continue as effectively pvp servers?
I think both ideas are dumb, if I consider one more dumb then the other that doesn't mean any of the two should be implimented, not even in a 'stuck between a rock and a hard place' moment. They both should be dumped in the bin at around the same time.

For what its worth I tend to agree with you "both ideas are bad" - but I do think one is far worse than the other. The notion of a PVE server fills me with horror. The notion of a geographic split - not so much. But then I've probably got a bit of sentimentality for how eve used to be with 7000 players on a sat night - back when wars were won with 10 apocalypses. I'm not entirely joking with the commentary on national character though - I do think there is a quite a difference between the way europeans and north americans go at their online gaming (probably as much difference as exists between PVP'ers and non PVP'ers if you cared to analyse it - and the mix between the two different gaming cultures has always had a bit of underlying tension in the management of eve online (especially community management).

Dumbest thing ever said on the forums. Even more so then the OP, and that's saying something. Thats an interesting point of view - so you think it'd be better to split between a pvp and pve server than it would be to have a split between geographically-diverse servers that both continue as effectively pvp servers? . Geographically diverse servers would have no appreciable impact as alliances would have to recruit from the other side of the globe to cover off-times regardless.
either everyone would flock to one server (most likely imho) or alliances on both servers would enter agreements to borrow members of each other as necessary and most of us would have accounts on both servers.
technical (or legal) hurdles have never stopped eve players from doing whatever needs to be done and providing a proxy/VPN to the out-of-region members would soon just become another checkbox on the requirements sheet for any successful alliance. |

It triggers fight-or-flight response, which releases over 30 different hormones to help humans cope with fast and stressful situations. The body state caused by these hormones is too "low-level tech" to be felt subjectively good or bad- it feels rough to all animals experiencing it, but most importantly it is a state that focuses your attention to external factors, leaving no time to ponder your own emotions. Only genetic differences are between the sexes, typically males tend to fight, and females flee.
The subjective reaction "feels good or bad", is a result of conditioning through exposure to stressful events, and the results of those events. Your body starts to associate post-event emotions with the events and the hormonal response. This is normal in all our behaviour, we tend to avoid situations that previously lead to negative results, and seek those that resulted in success.

We don't need to split EVE.
Players who prefer a 100% safe PvE-based Experience can choose to move on to OTHER MMO's that cater more to that style of gameplay.
EVE is currently the only meaningful PvP-centric Sandbox-based One-World MMO on the market.
To expect players who came to EVE for what it was to give in to players who prefer EVE be what every other MMO in the marketplace is, is asking too much.
EVE is what it is. If you don't like it, by all means, move on.
But if you think you can take our EVE from us and make in "Typical PvE-based, Sharded, Linear, No-PvP MMO" like so many others, you will not do so without a fight. |

There IS a PvE Server of EvE. There is no "v" in the Sisi server, as everything is available for 100 isk.
You don't have to purchase from the market there. You can mine, refine, mission, etc to your heart's content.

Just out of curiosity, are there any fantasy-themed, persistent open world games like EVE? To me, MMO by default means a game where players interact with each others without artificial restrictions. This adds a massive amount of realism, and does not rule out peaceful interaction- in fact, it gives players the power of making moral choices.
If there isn't, maybe CCP should make one? I doubt that I would have time for another game, but I do like dragons, wizards and half-naked elf girls and would be tempted to try at least :) Gallente - the choice of the interstellar gentleman |

I dunno if another such game exists, i've never played darkfall.
But I've been saying this for a while, hardcore eve players should WELCOME CCP branching out to that vampire game they are developing.
No it wouldn't be an alternative to the "EVE should be a themepark" crowd (nothing ever will be lol), but it COULD be something that lots of people would like, making that game CCPs new cash cow, which in turn would take the heat off the EVE devs to make EVE a mass-appeal game.
Lots of what has happened with EVE is (IMO) because, while profitable, it's not a huge money maker and CCP thus feels pressure to squeeze more money out of it. More money requires more subs, more GTCs sold and further "monetizing" of the game (cash shop and such). I for one would be real happy to see CCP gain a new cash cow, ease the pressure on "our" game. |

Also, imagine how annoying exploration wound be with everyone trying to claim a few sites.
That said, I wouldn't mind a week or month long throw back. Let some of the newer players like myself experience a universe where Titan's have area effect dds, where bombers mounted cruise missiles, mining could be done around a gate and had a far different outcome, warp to 0, did not exist, and concord is still in it's infancy.
Make it a test server or the like. Each month, a new patch... Till it hits inferno, them roll back to the start. Could just be interesting to see what i missed. |

Origins continued to acquire subs with their new EQ clone, yes. It wasn't UO though. They left the niche at that point leaving it completely vacant for us (Edit: although they did give EQ decent competition until WoW came, saw and conquered). I don't see why we should be giving up our niche, we worked hard on making it ours.
But as a compromise we also created Serenity, our Chinese server split off from TQ. Can't we all just hug and be happy (and then start the backstabbing and looting as is customary in New Eden)? @CCP_PrismX EVE Database Developer and Expert Ranter |

Who the hell would go on an Eve "PVE only" server? Compared to other MMOs Eve's PVE is rubbish - a lot better than it used to be, but nobody is going to stick with that for long.
What keeps Eve going is simply the fact that you aren't safe from other players anywhere in space. You can be "safer" but never "safe".

It would make sense for network geography reasons, not for any social reasons (in fact, the social reasons are by far the biggest reason not to do it). Should EVE ever get PCUs counting in the hundreds of thousands rather than tens of thousands, it might be prudent to have different servers simply because it'll be easier to create two separate clusters than trying to squeeze everyone through the same bottleneck nodes.
GǪbut even then, something like CREST could keep the two worlds synchronised on a higher level (so to the user, it would mainly just look like grid/system instancing).

Splitting this game would be the death to Eve Online.
What is it time for is for some to realize that they can't force others to play the game in a specific manner. PvE is just as valid as PvP. Most players probably do PvE/PvP at different amounts at diferent times in their career.
PvP is not a more "manly" form of gameplay. Being the **** in PvP doesn't make you **** IRL. It's all in your head, and in some DB on a server somewhere in England. Just little bits of 1s and 0s.
As well, PvE doesn't make you the weak scum of the MMO Community as some like to think. Players have different intrests ingame as they go through life and those interests change as their online gaming career progresses.
Thinking one can, and trying to force someone into gameplay they are not interested in at that time is simply one of the most childish behaviors that exist.
As well, the Forums are the worst place to try and gauge player opinons about the health of any game. It is skewed by the fact that they are normally either already have a gripe or are bored. |

You want a game that's all pew, all the time? There is a metric crap-ton of them out there, just browse any Xbox or PS3 forum. We'll throw you a party when you leave.
Pissed that EveO isn't THAT? Too bad. Get over it, or leave. Yes, most people abuse the "sandbox" analogy because they truly don't have a friggin' clue what it means, and insist that it means whatever supports their argument.
Me? It's a friggin' game. I do what I like, and there's lots to like here. The forums are a place I go when I'm at work and can't play. I got sick and tired off the drama crap from large corps, the demands to "fleet up or else!", and the endless station and gate camping. I'll spend my time how I like, and if it affects someone else positively or negatively, so be it.
Some of you need to stop trying to read more into this universe than is there. It's a game. Like it or don't. Leave it or don't.

CCP Prism X, that's not the issue. The issue is not losing your niche, its losing you subscribers. If some other game company, looking at the controversy over non-consensual PvP, decides there is a market for an eve-like game with consensual PvP only and makes it, what happens to CCP profits? (It has not happened for 9 years, so maybe you are OK....maybe).To keep that from happening, perhaps the company that has such a game should be CCP. Or the aspects of such a game should be somehow incorporated into the existing game so PvP combat adverse players ( that is adrenaline adverse players) will not look elsewhere. Take that perceived market away from any competition.
CCP Prism X wrote: .........Can't we all just hug and be happy (and then start the backstabbing and looting as is customary in New Eden)?
Based on the current forum rage, I would say no, we cannot. Oddly in our alliance there is no issue. The traders, industrialists, miners, mission runners and PvPers all live and are happy with each other. Things do not seem that way for the game as a whole. The the current "culture clash" being seen on the forums, and to some extent in game, is getting over the top. The questions you need to consider: Is it good for the game? Is it good for CCP profits?
A few statements from CCP would actually help. Like, for example: Do you consider Eve to be "A strictly PvP game", or " A Sci Fi simulation game that includes PvP elements", or... well.... what? Is it CCP's intention that a player who has no desire to be involved with PvP combat have an enjoyable play experience on Eve?

So there are very few threads that are actually truthful. Most of them are just people trying to stir things up.
It would not surprise me for one minute if one thread that says OMG I got ganked I quit and another that states carebears go away are actually made by the same person.
There is a reason why most of the player base doesn't bother to read the forums. They just can't be bothered to sift through all the garbage.
Probably the smartest thing I've read on the forums yet......agreed 100%, I try to avoid the forums as well and actually DISCOURAGE my corpmates from bothering with the forums because of all the trolls, nerd rage, and other garbage that is rampant on the forums. If people could maybe retain some sense of common decency the moment they log on then maybe this game would be like 100000000000000% better. Instead it's just like when I worked IT support: customers lose all sense of common decency the moment they got on the phone; the same stands true for eve online and the eve online forums.
Just sayin, if people could act right and maybe try to translate some of the general rules of living in a society to the game then that would fix most of the problems, but instead you will always have trolls, nerd rage, and asshats that will treat new players like they're a disease rather than someone who could be respected, taught, and become very useful.

There is only one split that I think will work.
Make a "no clone" server. You die, you fry. No coming back.
Then install special word parsing software on these forums and if anyone coming in pushing e-peen or talking smack about how "leet" they are, they are automatically transferred to the no-clone server to really show how big their bawls are.
Of course that server will also be voluntary to join - so anybody who forgets that this is just a game can be told "Big Boy Server is -->"
Honestly for noobs and people wanting more capable alts, it would be nice to see a "live fast die young" option in character creation whereby you can roll a char with accelerated SP accumulation but at the cost of a SP cap and NO clone ("can't clone hyper-accelerated brain" or whatever...). This would raise the stakes for those taking risk with alts or needing to make it more worthwhile to fill those empty char slots on an account. Impatient noobs who "want it naow!" and choose this option will be a source of epic rage when they get popped too. Just an idea though...

1) As to the issue of subscribers. EvE is the 3rd Largest Paid Western MMO by subscribers, with ~450k active subs. Add in FTP and only Runescape and Second Life move in ahead. There are several MMOs competing in EvE's genre, with the safety you're looking for. Aaaand.... they're not doing so hot. They need your help to prop them up.
2) The only Paid, Western MMO's beating EvE are WoW and SWOTOR, and they're not competition, because you're a lunatic if you try to compete with Blizzard or the Star Wars franchise (so, of course, tons of new MMOs try to do just that). The nearest MMO below EvE is LotRO at 250k subs and falling. I suppose SW:G was a genre competitor, but it never beat 300k and then it died. The next biggest MMO in EvE's "space" genre is Star Trek Online, which peaked at 105k and is now at 60k. Below that the data gets sparse because nobody keeps track of MMOs that have never beaten 100k subs.
3) I'll just put this here to give you an idea of CCP's intentions for EvE.

It's a bit more convoluted than that Zim.
1) To be effective in some roles your focus is less PvP orientated by gaming choice. Just training "some" skills but being defficient to your opponent isnt an answer either.
2) Character age and disparities.
3) Ganking by nature allows for multiple players to attack an individual target. This give multiple Kill rights to a player for sure but also the headache of having to manage the response to all those individuals by themselves.
4) Alt useage can be problematic to frustrate characters here within the time frame for a response.
5) A hardcore player who plays 15 hours a day can quite easily avoid a player who can only play 2 hours a week despite best efforts made by them to invest time into trying to hunt them down.
Considering that BH proposals actually enact a "further" cost to the individual to use in determining this kind of kill right transferall behaviour to help this process without being so impacting to the game that they have to change their profession simply to be usefully effective at hunting players.
Since a criminal can easily use various avoidance techniques to move around feely in the EvE universe still, though some limiting mechanics will help here of course, with some future changes to CW, but believing that Kill rights as current are a deterent is rather biased or naieve as a response. Well I think thats the point. Some people realise the lack of value or use of even having kill rights in some cases anyway.
But it may be a valid point that some people are just also completely unaware that if you do respond to a criminal agression in kind you will forfeit any kill rights anyway. Bounty Hunting, Soon Gäó

I don't see BH as a method to remove ganking from the game, just an optional tool people can make use of to potentially help to some level with security related issues. It will never remove the ganking profession/useage, but will allow for more interesting situations and considerations to some of those gameplay styles whilst adding more gameplay elements currently missing.
More importantly however and it seems I need to emphasise this, it is in no way my personal objective for wanting to introduce it as a feature either to simply remove ganking from the game. I do not want it to simply being a "hard" counter to valid criminal gameplay. Bounty Hunting, Soon Gäó

If you take a look back over the archived forums, you will find about half a dozen games, maybe more, that have been released over the years which numerous people have claimed will be an "EVE killer". Funnily enough, despite these "killer" games coming out, EVE never seems to lose any subscribers, it just keeps growing. The only way CCP are going to lose massive numbers of subscribers is if someone produces an almost exact copy of EVE, minus all the bugs.

Based on the current forum rage eh? From a gigantic 7% of the entire player base. I'm pretty certain that 7% is not a useful proportion to be basing a statistical analysis from. As for what EVE online is, it doesn't make a damn bit of difference what WE think it is, I could be on massive amounts of Ketamine and think it's all about giant flying ponies and water-slides, doesn't mean I'm right.
What EVE is, and always has been, is a sci-fi simulator set in space, with player driven content. Anyone joining EVE should already have some idea of what the game is about, mostly because new players tend to be bought in through word of mouth. Those that come in completely blind usually make their minds up in the first month or two if they want to stay.
The common link between those two types of new player are that if they stay, it is because they accept the possibility that they might get blown up. And those that cannot accept that fact either go peacefully off to find a game that suits them, or we see them come to these forums to complain about how "nasty the PvP community are".
The complainers on these forums are a minority, even amongst the pre-existing minority group of players who frequent the forums, and spending too much time wondering if they might somehow have a valid point, and should we split the game etc etc is all a waste of time. Numbers of terminally stupid people seem to be on the increase, I suggest we have a real life Stupidageddon to rectify this issue. |

A PERFECT example of what I always rant about.
EVE is, and has always, been about and inculded non-consensual pvp....ALWAYS. Why do people aquire and play this game is they don't like the thing and the very rock bottom basicnature of the game? Why aren't people like you playing Star Trek Online or something (the IS PVE oriented, with little non-consensual pvp and damn near no loss death penalty wise)?
Why must people like you come here and try to change things?
EVE has grown and survived over the years being what it is, and the ability to blow up anyone anywhere except inside a station (please ccp, let me strap bombs to my avatar , run into a saloon full of Goons and die in an Allah Akbar Blaze of Glory....THEN Incarna will mean something lol) IS EVE.
Leave our game alone. |

This is normal in all our behaviour, we tend to avoid situations that previously lead to negative results, and seek those that resulted in success. tl;dr: Go and win someone, and suddenly combat feels damn good all the time
According to Dr Drew Pinsky, getting "The Rush", a good feeling from Adrenaline, is in fact genetic. If you do not believe that feel free to take it up with him. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

You asked what would happen without Carebears. Right now there are carebears. Carebears make a really satisfying *squish.* This is EVE. -á Everybody Versus Everybody. |

Eve appears to be filled with players who passionately disagree about what Eve actually is or should be. The often used description of "Sand box" game Is used to reinforce whatever point the person is trying to make in each forum post often at the expense of the other. On and on process cycles.
I am tired of the endless pantomime cycle of "Hi sec is safe" ..." oh no it isn't" debates that fill the forums. ( what? like this one! quote .lol)
Is it time to split the game in two? Have an "eve-lite" for thoses who want to look at nice spaceship pixels and do safe missioning and stuff and have a separate main eve game that has no hi sec, only low sec and null sec - or just a game with null only?
But that will kill the game.... Which version? Which sand box?
Brb... Theres a large group of people at my door, hmmm..... Seem angry about something......
P.s.
Yes, I cant spell No, I won't show you on the doll.... No, I have no tears, Yes.... This is a alt , I'm not that crazy ( quote number 2)
To answer your question, no. The game is actually fine. I've seen this in other mmos too.
The people that rage against each other ( ie gankers and gankees) oddly enough depend on one another for EVE. Without combat, no one would be needed to make ships or increase the money supply through missions. Without people making items and increasing wealth to spend, there wouldnt be anything to blow up. Null sec very much depends on high and vice versa.
In short, they need each other but won't admit it. The game is fine. Maximze your Industry Potential! - Get EVE Isk per Hour! |

as much as I, a stealth miner, hated getting PK'd, hated random passerby's killing my packhorses, I would still say hell no. The whole point of Fel - 'scuz me "Eve" - is that if someone does PK you, you can always gank them in return. And not just gank them, for little consequence like the other MMOs, but steal their ****! And if they keep talking ****, you can do it again and again and again.... now that's a consequence. So if someone wants to talk a blue streak in game, they better be able to back their **** up. I think they should make a second live server that runs identical to the main one, except probably just start off with only one region. If that actually fills up, they could add more. Invincibility in highsec. Probably would have a good chunk of people run over and check it out. Mostly people I don't want in my EVE. -á"The Mittani: Hated By Badposters i'm strangely comfortable with it" -Mittens |
