I would choose to fly the Tempest over the Raven anyday - and I don't like how the temp looks tbh...
I do like the Phoon way better for the "built out of salvage" kinda looks, and the mael is a slim-streamed beast - perhaps one of the best looking BSs in the game (almost surely the most elegant non-amarr one, or even better)...
The ugliest minie ships by far, I think are the ceptors...
Or maybe it's cause i'm spoiled by me sader...

Minmatar design is our gift to the Universe. It's not our fault the rest of the lesser refined races can't see the pure aesthetic beauty of our ships.
Also those aren't sails or solar panels, they are Shield emitters. (pretty sure that was ret-con'd a few years ago)
And another thing...you have any freak'n idea how bad ass awesome Duct tape is!!! That ****'ll hold together a space ship...I mean come on!! I have a roll in my truck right now!

I love the look of pretty much all minmatar ships, I think they look amazing.
It's function over form, AS IT SHOULD BE.

I love the cane, a mini stardestroyer :) (maybe not so mini but it feels miniature)
The cyclone and thrasher have gills, so whats not to love? (i name my salvage cyclone the fish)
The pest looks well odd, with the "****pit" 100m or so forward of the hull? whats with that silly design? Not really practical from a damage standpoint is it?

Sails? The Hound has a shark fin. You haven't noticed that your jukebox starts playing the theme from Jaws whenever a hound is around? We Minnie have the coolest ship designs in the game, and the fastest. Amarr ships look like they were excreted by the creatures from Aliens (and probably were). And duct tape makes excellent armor. Also duct tape keeps our beer cans from sliding across the consoles in the ****pits during high speed orbits.

Gallente: WTF is a right angle? For that matter, what is an angle? Screw it, send out the drones and turn on the TV.
Caldari: Design by committee. One where the group changes after each section of the ship gets finalized. Exception: Rokh, modelled on dim memories of a steam train.
Minmatar: Sex. Pure Sex. Even the Fenrir/Nomad screams SPEED. (Relatively speaking to other freighters, of course.) Naglfar = Gonna take yer lunch, then butt**** you for your milk money. With style.

-omen has some cancer on it's neck, get rid of it or put another one on the other side
-maller seems to be missing half it's hull
-prophecy needs to go on a diet

In the Empire space you can salvage all nearby wrecks. In Minmatar Republic nearby wrecks can salvage YOU!

What's the hate for Caldari ships? I can think of plenty of those that look awesome. The Merlin and assorted tech 2 variations, the Scorpion, the Hookbill, Drake, Ferox, Heron, Osprey, Caracal, Leviathan, Rokh, Raven, Pheonix, Moa, Tengu, Shuttle, all Drones and the list goes on.
Actually ALL Caldari ships look good
Same goes for Mimmatar, Gallente, Ammar...
Wait I think ALL SHIPS IN THE GAME LOOK ORGASM WORTHY AWESOME.
Except sleepers and those creepy rogue drone domi.... I mean, ewwww.

Buy a Wolf, fill its highslots with guns, then look at it.

Sails are for cooling. In space, you need surface area because you lack an atmosphere to radiate the heat.
Basically, sails are cool.
