Mint some of my freinds play EvE with there partners/Wives/boifreinds(yes I spelled that right)/girlfreinds/sisters. Some of them dont have full time jobs or school so they tend to be very good at EvE compared to there partners.
Granted some of them spend more time in eve and suck at it more than I do.
What? I play eve knowing im going to get blown up. It would not save time for me to self destruct my ship in the dock. |

Issue, Gamers are 90% male, and most are usually not very capable at dealing with the opposite sex.
Case in point, Girl speaks up on Fleet comms, and suddenly half the fleet is more interested in hearing her talk dirty, than fighting the fight.....Fleet comms go to hell, people die....and the kids are still trying to make a female friend....
Immaturity seems to be something that many gamers never grow out of....

I personally know of at least 2 dozen women that play EVE, none of whom would ever refer to themselves as "girl gamers". Women that play EVE, yes, but not "girl" anything, since that denotes pre-pubescence.

Let's say you are casting a movie and the character to be cast is an Asian male. You reject an applicant because she is a Caucasian woman. Much as I'd like to see CCP Punkturis in the movie, I'd submit that you are neither racist, nor misogynistic, but you are biased because discrimination is required to do the job properly.
The terms "misogynist" and "racist" have much more meaning if you don't try to make them mean everything.
Sigh... That said, your original point seems to have been "I think many men who play Eve are misogynists" which is an opinion and can't really be argued with. I can, and do, disagree with it, however. |
