Is this an exploit?
i'd have to say so. i've had people chase me in low sec space and invite me into a gang to stop me from jumping, but i knew what they were up to and warped to a random moon instead. i'm pretty sure you can bypass this and protect yourself by checking off Autoreject Invites in the game settings, as that's what i do now, and i haven't had a problem with jumping since, but i don't know if people have invited me into a gang or not while using that of course. hopefully, it bypasses the session change completely.

You're giving up MMO's then. Ah well.
Can I have your stuff?
(Nope, never lost a ship to it. Lost targets I was chasing, though. And once I killed a covert ops ship which was gate bugged)
Yeah, pretty much. I've got better things to do than fight over mistreatment in a game with a N.azi of a GM. I've got exams coming up and my research is starting to take priority anyways, so it's a good time to ditch the games altogether for awhile.
And my stuff has already been given away. :p

If you are angry over not getting this reimbursed, please see the reimbursement policy. The reimbursement policy is in place to prevent people from abusing the system, this means that the GMs need to have proof in the server-side logs to be able to reimburse you, even if they believe what you are saying. I understand that you are not happy about losing your ships, but it can't be proven with server-logs that its because of this issue, and as I have tired to explain in this thread, logging session changes would add consiterable load to the servers and wouldn't be enough proof anyways as you can initiate a session change at almost any time anyways.

I have to disagree with you guys here. If you would just give one pass per year that would be allot better then your system. I have never had any ship returned I don't lie to get ahead in the game. If you allow one free pass token a year, people would sell them and do whatever and just get off your backs. You have some talented people in you organization but that does not make you perfect and 100% right. That policy you got there ruins allot of fun for allot of people speaking as a in-game CEO a gamer and a contributor. 0.o It's not you... no wait it is you. |

Originally by: Valar CCP Just to clear things up a bit... The session timer is not a bug, but a measure to prevent stuck cases. However in the case of selecting jump while not in jump range or still in warp causes the session change timer to start counting, and that is the real issue here. I don't want you to get the idea that we are removing the session change timers.
Out of interest, why does the session change timer get initialized when you try to jump as opposed to when you successfully jump? Is there no way to move the timer initialization to a point a bit further down the line, after the checks for "still in warp", "talking to a gang" etc have been done, and not start the timer if it was determined you couldn't jump anyway?
