I could probably count on one hand the houers i've put in to EVE over the last month or so, so i know the feeling. I'd leav this game in a hartbeat if it wasent for the people I play with.
I'll save my goodbye post for now...
I've had breaks from the game before but it allways fealt good finaly finishing that long skill or flying that new ship. Now however i could careless about finishing skills and/or flying new ****. it seems like shiva is just trowing inn a whole bunch of stuff I'm allready bored of.
what to do what to do...? ----------------------------------------------- Life is like a long poo that you have to take a bite of every day |

It was about this time last year when I took a break from Eve. I didn't really come back full time until after Castor had launched. I'm now taking my second big break from the game, but I will be around for Shiva/Exodus/Whatever. _______________________________________________ Eris Discordia: On the scale of funny and constructive it scores low, real low. |

Whatever ive never understood why players "announce"they are leaving a game. Then they give reasons.(other than you actually like the game and are looking to get talked out of leaving).
Ok bye see u laters.
WoW+Eq2= same crap from 5 years ago.Neither game is original in its vision nor will it ever be. They use the same old "fantasy"ideas from 5 years ago.You may as well go play DAOC.Or even better go play the original EQ cause its pretty much what that is.
Before i get flamed name one thing that is NOT in either game that was in EQ. Preparing for war brings peace. |

He announced hes leaving because he's done so much for the game?So he's done a lot to help in what way?Hey i dont know the guy personally so why dont you explain YOUR defense of him? I mean you would think if he had contributed so much the developers would be confused and bewildered by his leaving right?
He's leaving because he contributed so much in....monthly fees?Or is it more than that?Did he help push the storyline forward?
So please help me understand. In other words as you have told me in such a nice and respectful manner:Make me STFU. Preparing for war brings peace. |

Alliances are endgame, no surprise here.
WoW, hate the crayola crap, I blame it for putting Warhammer Online to death.

I think it's good to make such announcements, even if they are very bad for the morale of the rest of the players. Devs should know why ppl leaves, and the rest of the players too, esp with such clear and respectfull posts like this.
EVE is, still , a "State of the art" game (no laughs please). Many ppl will try new games. I myself tried Guildwars, only to realise how great it was. I tested an "Alpha" with less bugs than EVE in 1 year.Saw their wonderful graphics, played and enjoyed with a body i could see moving (no pics).Realized though too how limited it was and knew i would be bored in few weeks.
All the reasons you give are important, but From all of them the last one is for me the most important. Safespots must end , no more tricks . Log off traps must be ruled out, in some way, too. Thats fair for me and i'm understanding that for you too. If your enemy brings only 2 frigs and flies away doesen't mean it's unfair. Just that you didn't take the measures and let them flee. If they jump to a safespot, yes.
I'd just say farewell, good luck, and keep an eye on EVE now and then .
For EVE Devs, maybe those problems must be solved, or they are going to feel, slowly, the pressure of the new games coming.

Well, I beta tested WoW for over 6 months and I¦ll admit that it¦s an awsome game. However, I got seriously bored with it after around 3-4 months. What I personally felt that the game is no challenge at all (completely unlike EVE). I reached high level in no time, had an easy time with all the quests I had to do and almost never got killed (and with the non existent death penalty, who cares). WoW feels like a sandbox to me... a fun sandbox, but that only lasts for so long.
If you¦re a powergamer then it¦s very likely that you¦re going to get very quickly bored with it.

as for WOW, i have no idea what that even is, is it worth a look?.
wouldnt mind a wee change.
i imagine many of us will meet in quite a few online games in the future . luck.
d solo.
I played the beta of WoW, and imo its not worth the time, the lack of death penalty (except damaging your items that can be easily repaired) makes the game lack any excitement for killing or being killed.
Also Quests are about 90% of the games content for lvling, and that gets old after 2 weeks, its a real nice game as far as design goes but it gets old quickly.
Couldn't argee with you more.

I just want to cast spells though Stan
I have this fascination about playing with my wand and EVE doesnt satisfy that need
Im gonna buy WoW I think and give it a whirl. I dont have time to chain spawn butterflies all day everyday though and have no joy in fighting some asian uber bot so no doubt I'll cancel the WoW subscription after a month
So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.
